1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dollshe Discussion - Part Seventeen

Jan 26, 2022

    1. Yeah, same to be honest. I'm not waiting on anything currently, but the only way I'll buy a Dollshe is second hand right now.

    2. Ironically, I had good luck the three times I did place an order with Dollshe—two direct, once with a dealer. Longest wait time was seven months. Would I order another thing from Dollshe though? Hell no. The craftsmanship on the ones I do have is spectacular, but the only way I'll be picking up any more Dollshe resin until he gets his act cleaned up is secondhand.

As far as I'm aware, there's not been one sighting of him in the wild at all—or any of the purely 3D concept sculpts for that matter. Methinks those might've been a complete scam. Don't quote me on that though. :sweat:XD:

    3. Hey all, popping in because I’m wondering if anyone has put their Adonis head on a female body?

Additionally, does anyone have the 55cm mini Adonis? I see that the 1/4 fashion Adonis is out there but the 55cm size would be much more suitable a size for me rather than the typical 70cm size. I’m just trying to gauge if it would be easier to track one down second-hand instead of having to… *shudders* buy one from Dollshe directly. Thanks!

    4. @Mainframe110 unfortunately the 55cm of ANYTHING have never been made. I have a 1/4 Adonis I could try on a Doll Leaves new body, Resinsoul Xun, Diana's body, or the Dollshe female standard late tonight after I get home from work. All the colors will be weird, but the proportions will be there.

    5. Ah that’s what I was wondering about the 55cm. Alas, the 1/4 scale size is not quite what I’m looking for, but thanks for offering tho!

    6. I was lurking on the Dollshe site (because I won't buy one but I do like to torment myself) and now he seems to have come out with even more dolls. Three, to be exact, in what he's calling the Secret Joseon Dynasty. Miraculously two of them even appear to have been cast and are not just 3D renders of the whole thing.

    7. sorry, this was a case of oops!^^

    8. Oh god, the King75 body is beautiful!!! The behind photo is killing me... his tiny waist! Uggghhhh I wish he'd just hire a manager or something, it's torture looking at his beautiful sculpts knowing I can't order them :eusa_naug

    9. Am I reading it right that he's doing a collaboration with Izestage?

    10. Yes IZE and Mori 9. He managed to convince both of them to make compatible heads for his new king body.

The king body is beautiful but so many big tiddy muscle boys have come out (The Voice) or are being teased lately (2D Doll among others) its not worth for the body alone. I suspect he knows this so that's why he chose two of the most popular artists who don't make bodies of their own to collab with.

Still not worth for IZE Stage at this point as you can find their heads separately. Mori 9 though doesn't re-release heads as a rule so if she breaks that and rereleases, or releases a new boy ONLY through Dollshe I might be an absolute clown and order. Thats the only way he is getting me.

    11. Wow, do they not realize about his reputation? If I was a doll artist I would never want to be associated with Dollshe :sweat

I'm interested to see what 2D is coming up with, I didn't know about that. But I'm glad more companies are going for this aesthetic! I love the Voice body with clothes on, but I'm not fond of the joints' appearance/design. That's where Dollshe really shines I think, even the joints look good and the silhouette flows so well... :...( No way is he ever getting me though. I'd rather wait to buy secondhand from people whose passion dried up while waiting and sell the dolls as soon as they arrive.

    12. Ugh, they really are beautiful. On the King75 pages it states the orders will be fulfilled in 2-3 months and only orders which can be fulfilled in that period will be accepted. Is that sufficient to get a Paypal reversal or credit card chargeback if he hasn't shipped it by 5 months or so?

    13. @overlordu I was speaking with someone else about this and they told me in Asia his dolls aren't as popular but people do complain about him just not as much and as loud as they do in the west where he sells most of his own dolls. So it would be easy for IZE or Mori 9 not to know his reputation but just know of him as a caster for other people. They might already have used his services before, I wouldn't be surprised since Hayato is a different resin color than Austarus/Veles. I would be curious if Hayato is an exact match for Dollshe. I dont have any Dollshe resin to test this though.

ETA - Hayato did ship in good time though so if Dollshe is the caster maybe he will be better for the collab dolls rather than just his own.

@Ardent Paypal is 90 days however I would check with whatever bank or credit card provider you have because they can still do a chargeback on Paypal usually alot longer than Paypal's policy allows. Paypal doesn't like to fight with the banks on chargebacks so you will get your money back if Dollshe can't prove he shipped. Paypal will rule against him.

    14. Paypal is 180 days but you should start jumping through te hoops about 30 days earlier.

    15. Dispute can be filed within 180 days.
PayPal Purchase Protection for Buyers – PayPal US
That's six months. PayPal does ask that you approach the seller first, so yes, if you still have not received your purchase at 5 months, you'll need to start the communication and begin the dispute before 6 months.

    16. Oh I thought it was 90 days, that's even better!

However, if you are at the point where you would rather have your money back rather than the doll I would go the chargeback method and don't file with paypal at all. Once your card processes the chargeback and the card issuer gives you your money back Paypal will automatically make a dispute and take the money out of the seller account to compensate for the money the card issuer took from them. Its then up to the seller to prove they sent the item in order to get the funds back and they have a much shorter time to do that because Paypal is on time limits to respond to the card issuer. Heres the official paypal page explains the difference, but heres another 3rd party that puts it in layman terms.

I know this because I had someone in the doll community try to scam me with a chargeback earlier this year and it didnt even go through the dispute process before making my account negative and it stayed negative until I proved with messages and tracking numbers/receipts that I had sent the item and it was delivered earlier. But this is an extreme "I need my money back now" method. If you file the dispute through Paypal there is a chance you might get the doll shipped out sooner since they prefer you to resolve it amongst yourselves.

    17. My friend didn't definitely get a shipping notice in promised time for her limited 100 bjd. She opened a claim in the end, because she was well aware of Dollshe's business practices and is actually waiting on another doll from them for almost 4 years now. Dollshe did not even refund her after the initial claim but tried to delay the processing of it by responding nonsense like "would you not want a doll" even if he had none to ship to her. She had to escalate the claim to paypal.

Dollshe responded to her claim and tried insisting on shipping a configuration that lacked some of the parts she had ordered, probably so that he could have the claim closed and keep her on waiting for some extra heads for 2 years. He promised the rest of the doll would ship asap (yeah right). She refused and kept the claim going but was legit scared Dollshe would just drop *something* in mail before PayPal would have time to decide on the case, so that she would get a product lacking some parts and Paypal would close the "item not received" claim against her. I should mention at this point Dollshe had conveniently changed the website page of the doll so that it no longer mentioned all the extra parts and things the same way it did when my friend ordered. Order receipt doesn't show what exactly is included as it just shows "full package" or sth similar, so in case Dollshe would have shipped her something different that was ordered, he could have disputed the existence of any extra parts to paypal since nowhere on his website did it mention that said those extra parts should be included in the package my friend ordered.

He does change his website marketing material frequently recently, so after seeing this experience, I'd definitely keep screenshots from what the product page said when you ordered since previously "free, included with purchase" head parts can become items you have to buy separately etc. Or, you know, maybe don't order at all.

    18. Ultimately, ordering anything from Dollshe at this point sounds like pulling teeth.
I was extremely lucky in 2016-2017, when I got my Grown Bermann Heads. Only waited 9 months.
I wouldn't go there now though. I look for Dollshe items second-hand, or look into hybrid options.

Good idea about keeping screenshots of everything though.

It's very sad to see how far this doll maker's business practice has deteriorated.

    19. So earlier this year I had to open a PayPal claim in order to get my two girls (Ausley Love and Amanda Beauty) that I had been waiting for and Dollshe tried very hard to get me to wait two months longer, then two weeks longer and I just said nope and he did end up sending my dolls in the configuration I ordered with all the extra parts and they were assembled, with the silicone inserts, etc. So the negotiating on waiting longer is probably normal practice. I don’t think you can reasonably expect to get your doll within the PayPal order protection period, so if you’re counting on that, just be prepared to lose your doll order so you can get the money back. Personally I don’t recommend purchasing now when so many of us are still missing orders of the old dolls that we purchased years ago.

I’m still waiting on a King Corey I ordered in 2020 through Divas and most likely it will be next year in the very best case before I get him. I did receive one of my 2019 Dollshe orders through Divas earlier this year ( a single Erica Snow head that took almost 3 years to get). I genuinely like the new stuff he’s coming out with, but I just don’t want to go through the issues with the wait and wondering. It makes me sad, because I want to get more dolls.

I did order a Dollstown 18 yr old body for my Erica Snow head and that one definitely was cast much faster than anything direct from Dollshe (he casts for Dollstown) — I ordered the body through Dollstown a year after the head order and got the body over a year before I got the head, sheesh, so he probably produces for his casting partners faster.

    20. I'm afraid I really, really like Dante. My budget has been absolutely obliterated this year (and next year), so I shall just wistfully dream that someone someday will get him.
