1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dollstown 13yr & 15yr Discussion - part three

Sep 9, 2013

    1. What an amazing and beautiful transformation for your Ariel! New face is gorgeous. What a difference a change can make, to keep a doll that we might have otherwise let go.

    2. Thank you! I really learned about the beauty of a custom face up when I went to Dollism and saw all the beautiful faces on the dolls that were carried past me in the halls. Before that I always went with default faces.

    3. Thanks a lot!

    4. Merry Christmas to all from Catherine and Me. I wish you all a beautiful year.

    5. I can't help with a doll that would work with the DT18 body either Becky....there is a DT18 discussion thread here somewhere. I think somebody there might be able to help you

And Merry Christmas Theresa.......what a wonderful photo of your girl :hollyberry

    6. I missed wishing you and Catherine a Merry Christmas but I will also wish you a beautiful year! Catherine looks so pretty in her Holiday dress!

    7. My SD Dollstown gang as they are at the moment....

      Two Bandi girls
A Mui and a boy Daisy on the newer DT15 body :)

I still love the DT sculpts so much.

    8. I love your SD Dollstown family! I just bought a Little Rebel Seven head and am really hoping it'll match my DT f13 yo girls fresh skin resin because I want to get the 15 yo boy body for it. My Ariel needs a boyfriend! I heard DT fresh skin might be a good match to Little Rebel normal. Jane, how do you like your boy body?

    9. Good luck with the resin matching Pony I can't help there as I am too scared to play the hybrid game nowadays

And I like the newer DT15 body but it is an entirely different body from the older DT15 body.
I think they should have called the body a different name to be honest.

I LOVE single joints so if I am only talking about the look, then I would choose the older one over the newer one as that would appeal aesthetically the most to me...plus it has that extra upper torso joint for a wonderful slouch.
But as I don't have my dolls undressed and on display it doesn't matter.
I like both versions, so long as I cover the *ugly* elbow and knee joints on the new body (but obviously that is my personal opinion about the joints)

The older body looks best in Volks SD16/17 outfits
The newer body can wear Volks SD13 size clothes with ease

So as you can see they really are very different :)

    10. Yes, that is a big difference. I like double joints for posability but I also dislike how they look when bent so most of my clothes are designed to hide them. They can still show through the clothes at times so for me it's a like/dislike situation. I also like the extra torso piece because of the posability. The new body doesn't offer it?

    11. No the new DT15 only has the lower torso joint. NWS link to the Dollstown Flickr photostream

I think it looks like a much younger body than the old DT15 body too. And that suits me perfectly, as the Daisy lad I have on this body is a much younger character

    12. Thought I would share a photo of Isabel - she is playing the snow queen again this winter.

Just a question - has wiring the legs helped with the Kicking?

    13. Isabel looks stunning as the Snow Queen.....wow! :D

And yes wiring the legs has made all the difference in the world to my dolls.........I wired Bindi's (Bandi) legs about a week and half ago

No more swivel legs when I come to play with her *yippee*
I used thick plastic coated armature wire bought from ebay.

    14. Oh she looks great Jane :) Great news about the wiring! Would you mind sharing what size wire you got (and the seller if possible)?

    15. Do you know of any tutorials for doing it?

    16. I bought from this seller and for the SD dolls I use the 3.2mm wire

      http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aluminium...afts_Other_Crafts_EH&var=&hash=item1e80cb99e2

There are tutorials on YouTube on how to wire a doll (as there is more than one way to do it) but this is how I do it....

I cut a long piece of wire that will go up from one leg through the lower torso and down through the other leg.
I make sure the wire is about an inch and a half lower than the knee
I bend the wire into a "U" shape
Then I *pop* the doll at the lower torso and thread the wires down each leg

Hey presto and the doll is wired! :dance

    17. Sounds easy. Thank you.

    18. Bindi looks perfectly lovely standing so beautifully. Great work Jane!

    19. Hello! I am currently waiting on a Hue head and am now looking into possible bodies (since I really love me a good upper torso joint :XD:) I am not too worried about resin match but what's really important is that the proportions look okay. Does anybody know of some bodies the Hue head would work with? Thanks ^ - ^
