1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. If I were to look into the future, supposing I buy every doll I want and calculate in their wigs, clothes, props, etc, I will be near 50,000 dollars.

Is that crazy and stupid? Yes.

      Will it stop me? No.

    2. Haven't begun on my collection yet, only just seriously thought about getting two of them...but I'm willing to spend whatever it takes

    3. Sorry, accidental double post.

    4. Well, I just did a rough approximation of the cost of just my resin dollies, including shipping, and it's around $1200 already. This isn't including the dolls and accessories that I've bought and sold, though I've probably lost $50-$100 as I usually sell my items for cheaper than I've bought them if they were retail.

Well, I knew I probably spent more than I think, and I've always thought my resin dolls were around $800-900, but for them to be over $1000 is just awe for me. How easily shipping and PayPal fees add up! Well, at least now hopefully I'll think harder before I purchase.

And despite what I want to believe, I have a feeling that all their accessories has probably cost me that much as well. The clothing and accessories are harder for me to calculate, but I'll do that later, and then I'll see how much I've actually spent on the things just in my possession. *_**_**_*

    5. I'd say I've roughly spent.. 1k T~T Which isn't terrible I suppose, especially for two dolls...
      But it does make me think of times I could have really used that money. But oh well, you can't put a price on companionship right? ^^;;

    6. I had a spreadsheet with totals, taxes, shipping, Paypal Fees every detail, and decided that $4k a year would be my ceiling for the hobby. However, I realized there were expenses for entering the hobby so I gave myself a $1k credit. I also decided to put a doll up for sale so I gave myself a $600 credit towards that. And spent them both within moments of making that decision.

And then I bought a Soom Cuprit in a moment of temporary insanity.

That was after only 4 months into the hobby, and I was WAY over my proposed "ceiling." So I stopped counting :)

I'm much happier now about the money I spend.

    7. How much money have you spent on BJDs all together?

Around $3248.59. At least that's what I got when I added everything together >_<. That's also only so far as I have plans to buy an Amber once I've saved up enough for her.
Did you realize until now how much, in total, you have spent on this hobby?

Yes >_<. I kept trying to pretend the figure was much much smaller. It wasn't working too well.

I think it really hit me when I was looking at a Lolita dress today that I wanted to buy. The dress is $250 and I was staring at it going "I don't know, it seems pretty expensive". Then I realized I spent the same amount on Yo-SD Option hands the other day >_<.

I do feel sometimes that I've gone overboard, like with the Yo-SD hands. That's usually because I end up buying Limited dolls and don't put too much thought into them. For the Yo-SD hands, I just kinda went, "Yea, I should get them all since it will be hard to find them later and what if I need them all." I ONLY have one Yo...

To be honest though, I'm happy I bought my dolls. They make me happy and make me want to be creative, want to sew and do other things I've been putting off for some time. I consider them a great investment but sometimes it is a shock to realize how much money you just clicked good bye to.

    8. Lord almighty!

Well, just adding up the dolls alone, it's around $6,300. This isn't counting the ones I've bought and sold for a profit or a loss, I have no idea about any of that anymore. And then of course I have an interest in some very expensive eyes, clothing, shoes, and wigs for my dolls, so I would probably be horrified to find out how much I've really spent if you add all that in there as well. I'm going to guess somewhere around $9,000. Eek!

    9. I really didn't calculate how much I spend on them... too afarid. like somebody said before, I don't know and don't want to know...

considering doll is an expensive hobby so I treid to forget the cost as possible as I can lol
if I start to count up all the numbers, those numbers would be crush me in the end..

    10. I'll know how much I spend on this hobby of mine if I did some calculation but I try not to. I always feel bad spending too much (when my doll or the wigs and clothes come............. so worth it!!!).

    11. Im at around $1500.. but Im only owning just one SSDF =_= .... Im planning to get a DOT Duncan next year.. and that amount will easily doubled >3< ... but its all worth it n.n

    12. How much money have you spent on BJDs all together? So far not a huge amount thanks to DoA. But there is much more coming :)

Did you realize until now how much, in total, you have spent on this hobby?
Yes, I keep up with it.

    13. However, having said that....when I love something I do go all out!

    14. Since I just started the hobby I haven't spent anything yet. Jackson was a gift and my sister was awesome enough to get him an outfit and a wig. I know it won't stay that way for long though. Just yesterday I was thinking "Oh man I'm kind of hungry, I should get a burger...or I could get Jackson some pants..." xDD

    15. I used to keep track waaaaaaaaaay before I actually got my doll (I was buying stuff for her years in advance) and then I suddenly stopped after I got her
it was completely put out of my mind until a friend mentioned something about, I thought about it for a few minutes and the estimate freaked me out so much that I don't really want to know the real cost :sweat
I estimate around $1k, maybe slightly less or a little more

oh well, too late now and I don't regret it, it makes me happy and keeps me sane

EDIT: I decided to calculate everything that I could find the receipt for/remember ordering (from waaaay back in 2008 to now) and totaled a little over $1300....*insert minor heart attack*
I don't regret it but the shock still hasn't kicked in yet

    16. I am new to Bjd's and just recently purchased my first MiniFee Celine for $439. And basically have now spent over $500 on clothing/shoes, wigs and eyes. So technically around about $1000. But I don't think I will keep counting. I enjoy this hobby, I save and I can afford it. So I regret nothing. (:

edit// also the $500 covers the face-up materials I needed.

    17. That was in 2009 and I still don't want to think about it too much but I'm sure now that $1k was a definite underestimation. Adding up the moneys spent on only my five current dolls, with wigs, eyes, clothes, faceups, etc comes out to roughly $3k so I honestly can't even begin to estimate how much was spent on all that for the 28 other dolls I've bought and sold since 2006.

Maybe I could have paid off my student loan by now. *_*

    18. I added up what I could think of off the top of my head, and that was $1,228. I really can't remember how much I've spent on shipping, but I think I still have the receipts around here somewhere. It might be closer to 2k. That's still not too bad really, spread out over the years.

    19. If I had all the money I've spent now, 3 brand new cards at roughly $15000 a piece.
