Dollzone Discussion ~ 60 and 70cm ~ Part IX

Nov 11, 2023

    1. Yep, that's a Morphoa! I think she was one of DZ's more popular girl sculpts.

I actually have an incoming Cherry head, to add to my 1/3 Mo-3, Floy, and Celine heads. They all desperately need bodies.

Also, I found this interesting Flickr account that has stock photos of some of DZ's older sculpts.

    2. I just realized I do have a picture of my wife's April!

It's just a quick snapshot, but it shows her cuteness well

    3. Aww, she's so cute @IzabethS! I adore her freckles! :D

As of Tuesday, Azrael is now a whopping 10 years old! :frownyblush: Where did all that time go? Alas, no new photos because my (new) phone refuses to connect to my (old) laptop. :sigh But rest assured I did take him out for photos!

    4. Thanks IzabethS! Yes, that does look like a DZ Morphea. She sure was a cutie-pie of a doll. I regret not getting her when I had the chance. (I even like the sweet little fullset outfit.)

Yes, I'd love to see a photo of your wife's April. :D

Thanks Cloudedmind! I agree, I think Morphea was one of DZ's more popular girl sculpts. When she first came out, I remember seeing her around a lot.

Wow! Congrats on the incoming Cherry head! That's very exciting! I think I recall that Cherry was a popular girl sculpt as well. Do you have big plans for her? :D

And, thanks for the link to the older DZ sculpts. So fun to see those beautiful old dollies. :aheartbea

Oh my goodness! So much cuteness! :chibi

Thanks IzabethS for sharing! The freckles are perfect on her! :thumbup
      .
Quiet and Insane, congratulations and Happy Birthday to Azrael! :smallcake:bcupcake:cake:

Wow! Ten years old! That's quite the milestone in dolly years. Did he get any new goodies for his birthday? :wiggle

    5. Just a small correction. Her sculpt name is spelled Morphoa, and not Morphea. I'm only correcting in case anyone wanted to search for more pictures of her, and you'll get more results with Morphoa.:)

As for my Cherry head, nothing as of now. I might try and have her match my Chen. Maybe do a theme around his look for all my DZ heads. Either way it'll be a while as I have so many other dolls who need to be completed first. :sweat

    6. Sadly not, the poor conversion rate and general life expenses have meant I've not really bought anything new for my dolls in a while. Nor have I crafted anything because we're about to start house renovations and I'd like to keep all my doll/craft things packed away safely. BUT! I did give him a good re-stringing and he's as stable as he was right out of the box again. :D

    7. Thank you for the correction Cloudedmind! Yes! It is Morphoa. :thumbup

About the Cherry head - that's the beautiful thing about dolls. They wait patiently until you have time for them. It's just great that she's in the hands of someone who appreciates her. :aheartbea

Wow! Quiet and Insane, it sounds like you are really busy! Home projects have taken a big chunk out of my dolly time, too. (And 2024 doesn't look any better! :sweat)

At least you got beautiful Azrael re-strung! That's major! I can't tell you how many of my old dolls need to be re-strung. :doh

And since it's almost Thursday, let's do another Throwback Thursday drive-by spam event.

The other old Dollzone girl I really wanted to get was Orlando back in 2010. I thought she had such a gentle smile.

    8. Maybe this is a project year for everyone? I've been busy over the last couple of weeks getting projects completed, some of which have been hanging around for literally years. Some is home stuff (I finally put together a credenza that had been sitting in the spare room in the original box for almost 2 years; took me 5 hours), some is personal stuff (I re-organized all my sewing stuff and actually threw out some fabric *gasp* that wasn't good for anything) and some is doll stuff (I finally finished Caja's storage box and am in the process of finishing an outfit for Valerian).

In going through my fabric stash, I saw some fabric I intended to use for an outfit for Fei-Lau. I bought it 7? 8? years ago. He has been wearing a particular outfit that you'll only get off him when you can wrestle it off his strongly protesting form. To be fair, it looks great on him. The fabric is an icy blue with silvery blue snowflakes for the main robe and a sheer ice blue with silver snowflakes that I intend to use as another robe over the other blue or possibly a white underrobe (which means I'd need to go buy some white fabric (like that's a hardship).

    9. Congrats Iron_Dog! Sounds like you are busy accomplishing stuff. Getting organized is no small task. :thumbup

I've been having a little trouble getting motivated this year. Last year was so exhausting. :doh

One thing I did promise myself to get accomplished is to clean up my DZ 70cm boys. They need restringing badly, and some new outfits.

    10. I've recently purchased some wefts, too, so I'd like to make some wigs. I need to buy some pre-made caps though and have to figure out where I can get those without insane shipping costs. Interestingly, Fei-Lau is still rocking his original DZ elastic and he's still surprisingly good as far as tension goes. He's always been a bit on the kicky side and a little tricky to stand right from day 1 but he's beautiful so I let that slide with minimal grumbling.

    11. Which I'm thankful for since I've had dolls wait *cough*10 years*cough* before completing them. Let's pray it doesn't take that long with Cherry.

    12. LOL! Cloudedmind, believe me, I know the feeling. Many of my dolls are sitting in their box waiting...waiting for ___________ (fill in the blank.) :doh

Here's hoping your Cherry doesn't have to wait too awful long. ;)

I looked all over the Internet searching for pictures of DZ Cherry and could only find this one. She's very striking! I love her! :aheartbea

    13. Another one of my DZ favorite girls at that time was Beetta, I ordered her blank head alongside the Morphoa fullset when they were discontinued in 2013, and hybrided Beetta on an Angel of Dreams 58cm body, as the resin match was near-perfect:

My two darling big-girl sisters. I adore them both very much and cannot believe they're 11 years old already, wow.

    14. Thankfully, I'm starting to get ideas for her look, which is usually a good sign for me. She might get bumped up in the queue. I just hope I don't have a hard time finding a body to match her resin.

OMG, they both look so cute! I haven't seen a Beetta in forever. I really liked the fullset outfit she came with. And your Morphoa picture wall. *chefs kiss*

    15. Wow! Tanjalalie, your girls are so beautiful! Just seeing your Morphoa in her Fullset outfit make me want to do "grabby hands"! (Why-oh-why didn't I get this girl when I had the chance?!! :doh)

Your room with all the Morphoa pictures on the wall is brilliant! Everyone should do that for an awesome doll!

Sorry, but Wow again! I don't think I've ever seen owner pictures of Beetta. She's really a lovely doll. Morphoa and Beetta are perfect as sisters. All I can say is that your girls are 11 years old and beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing! :love

Cloudedmind, YAY! Getting ideas is good! :dance:dance:dance

Sending you oodles of good luck and lucky vibrations in finding a resin match for your Cherry! :clover:thumbup:clover

    16. Well, once all the renovations are over then I'll have a nice place to display my dolls, bigger drawers to keep things organised (instead of piles and pile of boxes), and of course, more time to play with them!
Azrael stands beautifully now, it's like he's fresh out of the box all over again. :kitty2

@tanjalalie - your Morphoa and Beetta are stunning! :D I almost forgot how much I like the shape of Beetta's lips.

    17. Now waiting on my biggest doll and first boy - a Dollzone Deer head on the 62cm body, from the original release back in 2017ish. With his antlers on he might be over 70cm!

    18. I was looking at this head

And ive only seen it on clover singing but not even on the Dollzone website. Are any other dealers carrying him? If someone who isn't charging a layaway fee carries him, I might consider splurging for the body. Dollzone big boy have been on my to do list :0

    19. Congrats Aliquotiens on ordering a Dollzone Deer Head! It's a pretty awesome sculpt! :thumbup

SteamWitch has a DZ Deer Head boy, and it's so cool! :D

Vimes, sorry I have no info on this sculpt, but I just had to comment: Wow! That Dragon head looks AMAZING!:aeyepop::aeyepop::aeyepop:

Are Dragon hands/claws an option that go with the head?
