@EagleVision1999 I think I will actually stick with the default female body. The longer I look at it the more I grow to love it! Now it's just a matter of color choice. I guess I will go with white but... I shall think about it a bit longer! XD @gaiboiozz She is absolutely stunning if I may say so! The more I see from Dollzone the clearer it becomes to me just how much of an art piece every doll is!
@gaiboiozz she turned out so beautiful! Really like the shimmer on her eyelids. Gives her that soft, fresh look
@Snowy I love the family portrait! It's super cool to see the full-set of the Dragon Baby, since I won't be able to do the face-up on mine for a while
@bigcanetoad Aw, thank you ^^ Are you delayed from finishing your dragon due to weather / temperatures or real live things keeping you occupied? What plans do you have for yours?
@gaiboiozz Your Akumu is absolutely stunning! I love how your collection has grown with such unusual and unique characters. Your backstories for them must be fascinating...I truly admire the unique world you’re creating with them.
@Snowy real life changes right now, mostly. Besides I'm waiting for another doll to come, which is projected to arrive around February, and I want to dye them at the same time. Edit: I plan on dyeing it gold myself and painting it like a yellow/orange goldfish...now I just gotta think about getting a hotplate so I can dye it outside during the spring (better safe than sorry) here's a picture of mine the day I got it! Gonna be blank for a while, but that's okay
@bigcanetoad Oh my!!! I really love the goldfish idea! I was thinking of wanting to see something like it after seeing the goldfish/koi(?)-mermaid bjd Angell-Studio released a while ago What color do you intend to use for the base gold dyeing? And do you have something to make the scales shimmer? Will she get a wig? She’s gorgeous even blank so you can already enjoy her ❤️
I’m thinking about taking the plunge and ordering the Ji Zero human girl full set! Would it be worth paying more for gray skin or should I just get white? I have never owned a Doll Zone sculpt before so I don’t know much about what to expect!
The gray skin is nice. Imo if you like the gray skin, you should go for it. DollZone's white is a milky white rather than a paper white, I dunno if that helps any in deciding. o:
@cherryblossoms I am considering the gray skin as well. At first I thought white would do but later I figured that maybe it wouldn't look 'artificial' enough? Also the tattoos wouldn't stand out as much. Peach looks interesting too but I don't know how it might look later in person and with natural lighting. I think gray is probably worth it since no color looks as unnatural and cyber, also it works well with the tattoos as well as the light pink blushing that doesn't stand out as much on more natural shades. If anyone has a irl picture of either gray or peach, I would appreciate it too!
I can post a pic after, but I can say that the grey is a nice shade, the new white is an off creamy white that confused me, especially compared to the peach. Peach is more white than DZ white. During their last old white limited time offer I ordered a few pieces, so I can add that, too.
Their peach is really inconsistent, based on what I've been seeing in a BJD group on Facebook. It differs so much from batch to batch that it looks like different resin colors.
Sorry, but I forgot the grey and pink skins. Blurp. The pic isn't great anyways, so I'll see if I can go outside tomorrow if it isn't raining. Take into account yellowing for the older dolls. Digging through the boxes made me realize I don't know where my old white parts from the last event are, plus pink and the oldest tan skin I have. (~2009)
@Snowy I plan on using a warm yellow from iDye Poly! Will probably blush with orange and yellow pastels as well. I'm debating how I want to use the gloss and whether or not I have strong enough gold acrylic paint I can dilute and create a shimmer with. I'm going to see if one of my friends is interested in creating an off-white short wig with a hairline similar to the full-set wig. I know!! It's such a pretty mold; chilling on my desk right now @cherryblossoms if you feel comfortable dyeing resin and have the protection, you could save money dyeing the white grey? Grey would look really cool for the cyber doll
I might just spend the $60 on the grey. I don’t feel quite comfortable dying such an expensive doll myself! I do agree, the grey looks so cool for a cyber doll.
@bigcanetoad Oooh! Crossing my fingers for you! I'm really looking forward to seeing how your project turns out -^3^- Just a heads-up about the fullset wig: It's not foremd to fit around the horns. It's normal roundish-shaped and in my case I need to carefully set it up, to avoid it pushing my horns off the magnets as the rubber band is strong :3 @cherryblossoms (if you go grey, you could totally get one of water based colors for tabletop models in any of the metallic greys and go for additional shine/ shimmer effect ) Best of luck with whatever you decide on ^^
It is just, for some reason, hella more expensive. But it's the promoted color here so the doll probably looks best in it TT^TT I'm afraid I must wait a bit longer until I can order her too...
