1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. but ashbet's head is so different from the obitsu head she used as a base (mostly for neck size, I think, right?) that it's very different from the way it seems that DZ is doing it. Her head is unrecognizable from obitsu heads, which DZ's heads seem to only be changed slightly. I think it's a big difference.

    2. Possibly but I can still see alot of similaritys in the too. I mean I love Ashbeat's head but the upper half is practically identical.

    3. I think most dollfie's look the same, althought there are differences.
My Ryu is a Doll Zone doll, and his face isn't like any other dollfie I've seen.
(These pictures were taken by a camara phone, so they aren't the best quality)

Ryu is a MEGI New body pure skin boy type.
Even though he's not a VOLKS, I still love him.
I can see the issue about originality here,
But I think he's an original dollfie, I haven't seen another model that looks like the MEGI model.

    4. that's true. I don't know how all of this stuff works, but it still seems like a different thing to me-it's more like a mod than trying to pass her new sculpt off as a completely different doll. She never tried to hide the fact that it was made with an already made head as a base-the posts are in the creator's section, whereas if DZ is copying, they were passing it off as all their own work.
but that's just my two cents, and I totally see where you're coming from.

    5. So admiting that you've copied somthing makes it all better? At the end of the day re- casting a head is still copying no matter how much you mod it. Moding an original is moding, moding a re- cast is copying...

    6. Still ashbeat is selling it as a new sculpt called mau and she gave credit to obitsu but you know.
Are you saying if dollzone said they copied and credited this thread wouldn't exist?

    7. People aren't upset about Ashbet's head because it was done on a smaller, not quite commercial scale? BUt I admit it's much the same thing, she was selling them.

    8. that's true. I just don't know what the 'right answer' is here -_-

    9. Ashbet's head really has no bearing on whether or not the DZ sculpt is original. Out of respect for her feelings, can I ask you to please not continue to discuss it? :daisy

    10. My two cents on this issue cause I hear people talking about banning dolls. While I do not condone the copywrite infringement. I strongly feel that if anyone is banned it should be the company and Not those who own their dolls.

We buy millions of rip off merchandise everyday, weather it's clothing, purses and even jewlery. A lot of that stuff isn't sanctioned by the original artist or makers, however we don't ban the people who are buying. Selling is a whole different story.

Dollzone owners love their dolls and that's not what should be at issue here. I think that everyone really should just settle down and wait to see if they have copied or not. If it's proven that they haven't copied, then perhaps we can drop this once and for all. If they have, then lets lay it to rest and just don't encourage people to buy from them. However lets not turn on eachother and turn this forum into a free for all of Dollzone supporters and Dollzone haters...

don't we have better things to do?

Christal...who's kind of sick of the whole thing.

    11. Speaking for the moderators for a moment.... we haven't even started talking about banning them. We are waiting for more evidence and clearer information from the companies involved before it even begins to be considered (in bold so people will see it). Please stop getting up in arms about the possibility of Dollzone being banned. :daisy

    12. Here's another thought. I am part of a company, this company is just starting out, we need referance pictures to get people interested. I own two Dollzone dolls. We put up images of a Dollzone blushed body. We were sent a message saying no one would commission us since we work on DZ bodies.
I don't feel comfortable with how this forum seems spilt. How can I enjoy this hobby with others if I constantly see this attitude directed at my dolls and ultimately me?

    13. I second that. I mean how does owning a certian type of doll effect how well you can work on dolls as a whole. It's really not quite fair now is it?

    14. That's the kind of things that bothers me--people taking their dislike of a company out on the doll owners. It's very childish and dissapointing to see people behaving like that. The companies will work this out on their own either in court or an out of court settlement that has nothing to do with any of us. Meanwhile people should be free to own any doll they want--it's their choice and they shouldn't be punished for it.

    15. I think a lot of people are "guilty" of this, of refusing to buy something from someone for a specific reason. I don't think it is wrong, because there are many reasons for doing it. I will not buy things from companies that are overtly religious, because I think it is wrong. I will not buy things from companies that support animal testing, because I think it is wrong.
So is refusing to buy something from someone because they support a company you dislike really wrong? I think... it hurts the people who own dolls from that company, but (to bring up again) the forums do not ban the company or the dolls, the people who dislike the company have to do something to show their disgust.
I am not saying that it is a good thing, but I think it is something that happens, and will continue to happen.

    16. Oh wow! Because we know no company ever dresses their dolls unless it's to hide something.

    17. You do have a point. I think alot of people don't buy from companys that support different things... i don't buy from Wal-mart because i don't like how they stand politically. I guess its just a way to prove your point.

    18. It wasn't a nice thing to say at all. my guess is that person is feeling powerless to stand up against DZ and so took out their frustration on you. which was wrong of them.

    19. This is the same for me.
People say, it's not fair, to punish people for their doll-buying. But we're not punishing them. The marketplace here is free exchange. If someone doesn't want to buy from one person, another will probably have the same.
But how is it not fair? I don't understand that.
