1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dollzone Originality - Discuss it here.

Jul 2, 2006

1. It is suspicious, the other auctions (of the 1/4 size) from that seller have clear body photos at least.

2. I have a feeling that even if I did not own these dolls and still had referace pictures of Dollzone bodies, we would still have recieved that message. Should we have to take pictures down? How is agreeing to blush a body supporting a company? This just aggravates me because if this is true I will not be able to do anything. Even if my dolls are not banned(I know you haven't discussed it yet) people may refuse me right and left. No one knows the truth, yet many are showing their disgust. I don't even get why this thread exists. Anyone who reads it begining to end would see it has hurt many people's feelings. This is Den of Angels people! love not war!(i feel like a hippie)

3. There is no war, just exchange of ideas.
I am not saying, pull down photos, burn them, hide them, whatever. But I think in an issue like this... people who own should not have to deal with such things, but should expect them.
I know people who won't buy things from ones owning Volks, because they think is "elitist" so that is that. And I know people who won't buy from any company in China because they do not like China. And I know people who will not buy from DoD because they are slow and one had bad experience. And I know people who won't buy from Dollmore because expectance of theft. These are things that happen.
I've had people refuse to sell to me because I insulted one of their friends.

There are so many reasons.

4. I'm one of those people who even if the horse has been beaten I continue to prattle on.

Looking at countless pictures of BJD heads & bodies and seeing simmilarties in almost all of them is what has led me to to the conclousion I have already stated. Dollzone's new boy looks to be a "inspired by" rather than a dreict coppy. How much it is inspired and how it falls into the coppyright laws I don't know, nor can I speak on the "moral" correctness of it all. It still does not look like Dollzone re-casted a Volks SD16 boy and enlarged & sanded pices. Maybe I'm just trying to give Dollzone the befifit of the doubt but thats what I see.

I'm sad that DollZone owned feel victimized by all of this and my heart goes out to you.

The worst part of all of this is that if both compines sue (Looks like that may happen) it could take years to work it all out...I hate to think of the trouble this will cause within our doll community. :(

5. Unless I look at a mold and look at the other and say WOW, they look exactly the same!! I don't see a lot of what people are complaining about on here.
Yes, they are similar. But not so much that people have to look really hard and point out things...
Dolls are meant to be enjoyed, and a lot of doll owners are going to get hurt due to this... all we can do is wait for the authorities to say anything about this, and make an official opinion.

<3 to everyone who feels confused or saddened by this whole issue... Don't
worry, it will all get worked out in the end.

6. For the people that this is a big deal, such a sentiment can be even more hurtful. It's like telling a friend of a problem, and they say, "I don't care." It is worse than that.
Yes, for some it is "no big deal" and there is a trust that "all will get worked out in the end." But for others, that are hurt and pained and feel betrayed by this sort of thing, such sentiment makes it worse. To us, it is not "no big deal" and maybe not "all will get worked out in the end."

7. A lot of people on here keep saying they think the SD16 dolls are ugly, thats not "nice" either.

People can't hurt you with words unless you *let* them hurt you.

8. Just unlurking to say .. If a person feels that way about you and your boys you wouldn't want to work on their dolls anyway. There are just as many people who will support your company.

9. Maybe not all will get worked out in the end, but at this point everyone is feuding and I'd like to see a positive attitude and people working together, but it just doesn't seem to be happening... people are taking offense to all sorts of things, even when we're just hoping everyone gets along...

10. I think part of it is bad feelings from both sides carried on from when the first DZ came out( the ones which nearly everyone agrees are copies), and when the mini boys came out (and some of us thought they were copies), both times people felt strongly and never got their point across fully. I don't think anyone on either side felt they had truly been listened to or had made a difference...

so now, of course everyone is getting upset. this issue is important to both sides- some want to prove thier dolls are real, some want to stop DZ scamming people. so it is important. and its good for us to discuss our concerns, I think. just so long as no (more) personal comments are made about anyone.

11. Emotions are running very close to the surface in this thread – but for the most part posts are honest and thoughtful. This seems to be a subject that NEEDS to be discussed openly rather than through insinuation and asides made into other threads and it appears – when looking at the hits and post count – that many members do want to discuss the subject. Straying off topic is what is causing the hurt feelings – not the discussion about whether or not a doll is to be considered “original.” Maligning other molds and referring to companies and their sculpts negatively is going to injure or incite. Discussing the idea of recasting molds is not a subject that should cause anyone to feel defensive or insulted.

This thread was begun in the hopes that it would be informational. It is an important discussion. Perhaps until more information is uncovered, discovered or revealed it would be best to refrain from posting speculative observations.

12. I am glad this discussion is here. So many times before, it was almost like a white elephant, which no one says anything about. >_>

13. I agree what you had said, like me, I was purchase the 4 DZ doll at the very beginning , I even don't know Lynn was CP Woori copie and post on here DOA then people point that out, that make me felt shame on it.........if I knew it was a copie I wonldn't buy it.........you know there is already people out there who Anti DZ doll and say thing that hurt your feelings.....

14. Something a lot of people has said is bothering me.
If a child goes, and eats a bug (for instance) and a parent learns of this, the parent might say, "What's wrong with you?" The parent has experience that says bugs are not for eating, and for a moment, when chastizing the child, doesn't remember that the child did not have the same information. The child did what children do: act without knowing. The parent yells at the child, and the child is sad, even though if the parent had known the child was unaware of bugs being not food, the parent would not have yelled.

It is the same thing here. Some people, like me, knew about the DZ copy back in the beginning, when it started. Others, did not know. So the knowing ones get angry with the ignorant ones, because they don't realize that everyone does not know.

Yes, the buyer has to be remembering that all buyers do not know the same information, but caveat emptor: let buyers beware.

The only thing I have to say against what I have said is the gross indifference of some people, who know are copies, and didn't care, and still don't care. This I don't understand.

15. Quick reminder - this thread is intended to be about the dolls, rather than doll owners. The choice to buy a doll isn't made by popular opinion of DoA, and many people bought these dolls and love them. There's no reason for them to be made to feel bad about their choice. It would be best if we didn't comment on the morals of these people.

This thread exists so that people can discuss this issue and make informed decisions... but also to keep the "controversy" in one place so that that DZ owners don't feel harassed seeing criticism in every DZ thread on the forum. So far, opinions have been expressed civilly and maturely - it has been a discussion, rather than an argument. That's a good thing.

For those who are hurt by this topic - If you are sensitive about any criticism or questioning about DZ, I recommend not continuing to read this thread.

16. Back on the subject of the dolls, er, did anyone see the body pictures? Sorry for linking to someone's post without their permission, mods feel free to kick me out, but the pictures are in this thread, here:

http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72023&page=7

There are pictures of a gorgeous Yukinjo nude here:

http://psycho-doll-box.livejournal.com/18918.html#cutid1

Again, I am sorry for linking to people's dolls, and I will delete the links if anyone asks, but I needed shots for referrence, and I'm sure many people will want to see, too ^^;

Personally....not to offend or jump on one side or anything, but I see the similarities. The DZ body looks to me personally like they took some of the KIPs system (like the thigh jointing) and all of the muscles off of the SD16, made it a little taller, and copied the hands completely. It's hard to see the hands, I admit, but they look awfully similar from what I can see. Now, it could just be that they used the SD16 as a visual referrence point. Making a functioning BJD body is very complicated and hard, I would imagine, without having some guideline or example to base off of. So, there's that possibility. I'm not crying 'bootleg' or anything. I'm only saying honestly that I do see similarities.

Too much naked resin for one night >_< Gah!

17. book mark, i will come back later, ^^
i'm maybe strange but pics on the page 5, i don't think look like, o___0

18. please compare those DZ 1/3 hands with Yukinojo's, they are exactly same...although DZ have change a bit of the body (coz DZ is not that stupid..), it's still easy to find out the obvious problem with that 1/3 body....don't u think~?

19. Well, if you mean the rotating thigh, that feature has been present in BJDs for a while now. (I'm thinking of a couple of minis, possibly Serendipity?) which was a feature that enabled them to emulate the suwarikko pose.

Well, as far as I know, anyway. :sweat

20. I just went to Dollzone's forum and the comparison pictures's thread and the naked body's pictures had been deleted....!!And we can't find any naked body's pictures anywhere!!
I don't know what does it mean, for me Dollzone is guilty.

And Im totally agreed with Reika,if there are no problems with their bodies, why don't they show the whole body to the world??
