I'm posting this little composite I made. just for interest.

I tried to scale the pics so the faces match up

this is not for feature comparison! just size comparison!


feng's face is rather big and flat...

 

Quick note here: The DZ body being displayed is also oldskin. They're altered thier new mini mold into something sleeker, fixed the jointing in the chest and added muscle and whatnot to the arms. Blargh, anyway. Since I own both old and newskin I let kkscatnip do a comparison...thing with my two boys waaaaaay back when. Pardon the icky body...blushing....tattooing...stuff. -_-

Funny you should mention this. When I came across this thread today, I immediately thought 'He looks like Megi with slightly more opened eyes', I very much agree with the idea that they copied/modified a MNF El to make Megi.

Yeah- that's one of the boys that made me look twice; Perhaps Megi is a modified Sleeping MNF El?

i don't get it. could you further explain? Feng's head is proportionally larger than El's, he is proportionally shorter, his shoulders are narrower, what's the point?

 

It is true that in the pics there is a similarity, but there is no way that Feng is copied. I've seen enough pics to know that the heads are a totally different shape and the features are diferent sizes, even if the heads themselves have a similar jaw line.

Like I said before- to me, the heads look fine. It's the bodies that look suspicious.

 

yeah... and the heads don't even have a similar jawline, Feng's is waaay pointed... but i don't think that was the point... i'm still at a loss as to what was.

some people think Feng is a 1/3 head on a 1/4 body. other people don't. so, I'm jsut putting a pic up. sorry it's a bad pic!

I agree, the heads look different enough to be original. Many companies have heads that may sort of resemble another company's head. Still waiting on those body pictures. The dolls are released on the dollzone site, but no naked body pictures. Hmm....even I have to wonder at that. Usually when a new doll comes out with a new body, and it's for sale, there are naked pictures.

 

I've heard that too.... any chance anyone has a 1/3 head to put next to Feng? Personally, I think it's just the way his features are spaced that makes people think that...

 

Feng is definately original- And I'm not doubting some of the heads or parts- such as the 'new' hands. However, They seem to be mishmashing doll bodies and parts; O.o come to think of it, I dun think two dolls have been alike from them? Has anyone ordered two at once?

 

do you mean two of the same type, or two dolls period? i ordered a Feng and a Megi and recieved them at the same time, and i know another person in the Dollzone Zone thread in BJD Database ordered two Xi's at the same time.

also a number of people recieved Megis at the same time and they were all... well, Megis.

my Feng was first delivered to a friend's house, and following the rash of comments on DoA that his head looked like a 1/3 head, she put him next to a 1/3 doll. the comparison was ridiculous. his features are relatively large; that's it; he wears a 1/4 size wig, the same as my Megi.

 

Two dolls of the same type, at once? o.o?

 

And here's a zoom up of the KD Hands- note it has the same 'perk' in the pinky as DZs have...



Also, the ball-joints of the hands don't seem to fit the arms...

 

I thought that was the case- if it was a 1/3 head, it would be flopping over his shoulders! Out of interest, do you still have the pics?

and the KD hands are about twice as fat, the fingers are stuck together (unlike DZ hands) and the fingers are shorter... and the ball-joint on my DZ dolls fit and work just fine, thanks...

 

nope. anyway, i don't feel like putting my doll up on the web again for people to point and gawk at; he's had two threads of his own on DoD, and i think he's getting sick of it (i know i am)

although, come to think of it, there he is everyday in my sig!

before the Feng wave of minis were released I got an email from a friend in China saying Dollzone were about to release some 1/4 size with sanded down 1/3 heads. that's what she thought. and when I saw more pics I agreed
