Fair enough. I was just thinking it would be nice to have a shot of both the Feng head and a 1/3 side by side here, to put an end to people saying Feng is a 1/4 head.

 

do you have a pic of old type hands with a pinky perk? because to my recollection the old type hands didn't have any perks at all- they were fat and stiff, like inflated rubber gloves- not attractive. that was why i was so relieved when DZ came out with new hands.

good point. makes me wish i had the pic...

*sigh* Feng does not have a 1/3 size face. now i really wish i had those pics...

 

She's talking about the hands that came with Lynn, the original girl body. They've had so many different bodies it gets confusing, but Lynn really was a kid delf body with boobies added, even had the same flat feet ^^;;

 

Here we go: Here's a compasison to the KD/DZ hands I was talking about. These are old-type, but I've spotted some new arrivals of DZ wearing these, too. And their feet look suspiciously like KD feet as well.

Why are we even talking about the old stuff. We know those were copies. I only care about the new stuff and wheater it's legit or not.

 

I'm more interested in the new stuff too.... But like I said, I will reserve final judgement until something is proved by legal professionals. I so dearly want to beleive that DZ *has* changed, and isn;t copying anymore...

 

That boy wasn't even a month old; This is recent... And as I mentioned, I've been seeing new arrivals wearing these hands too.

 

According to the DZ supporters thread and the Wikipedia entry, not many people believe the old dolls were exact copies. Also, the issue of the 1/4 body looking like an SD13 oldskin boy body has not been addressed yet, there is no harm in discussing it.

 

really? so we've gone all the way back to Lynn now? everyone agrees that Lynn looked like a copy, and DZ retracted them. i thought we were talking about the new 1/3 size bodies, or the minis, or something worth arguing. *sigh* i think it says something about this argument that it always gets whittled down to Lynn.

also my personal point is, it's repetative. DZ keep copying. anyway, Volks said that the new DZ is a copy so I think that clears up the new dolls. if the ones who made it say its a copy well...that alot better than us speculating, isn't it?

 

It always comes back to Lynn becuase Lynn was copied, and that is the root of people's mystrust for DZ.

Also, there are some out there who won;t know the Lynn was a copy yet- you have to remeber there are a lot of new people joining this hobby ever day. They might want to see the evidence too.

 

Lynn is relevant as people are now showing that they copied bodies and parts from other companies as well as heads in the past.

And as stated, that picture of the boy with Kid Delf hands is recent, so they are still copying CP parts for some of their minis.

That's kinda harsh. There is a lot of rationality left in this conversation, and this thread is here for people to air their fears.

DZ was caught copying once, so yes- people are paranoid. This is to be expected. And soe of the things that appear on the DZ bodies (I'm thinking here of the new 1/3 body) *might* be patented, which is why I personally am so interested to see if it is proven as a copy.

From what I can tell, the body appears to be a DOD body, with KidDelf hands and feet; The heads, for the most part, are original, but that hasn't been confirmed.

 

It does appear that the heads are originals. The current body is questionable and I do own a Volks SD16 and I do see disturbing similarities. Yes, I've seen the comp photos, and yes the DZ body taller and thinner. That does not neccessarily remove it from "suspicion."

However, when discussing a "copy" as is being discussed here - photo and speculative observations of headmolds that resemble one another is more, well, speculative of influence than suggestive of a mold recast.
