1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Don't Have a Grail Doll?

Aug 29, 2014

1. I don't have a grail doll. I buy my dolls based on the ones that "call out to me" or I see one that fits an idea I have.

2. I've seen so many people mention that a "Grail" doll is one that can never be affordable or is too rare.
ive never had a doll that I wanted that really fit this.
I have my dream dolls though and to me they are my grails.
Although, most people in the bjd community wouldn't agree.

3. It's weird because I have many dream dolls, where it would be nice if I did have them, but I'm also okay without them. And I don't think I have a grail doll. I think me not having a grail doll might be due to the fact that I get bored very easily. That's not to say that I stop thinking certain dolls are beautiful or anything, but I just get bored. I guess it's a good thing that I don't actually buy my dream dolls or have a grail doll, then, because I'd be spending so much money "doll-hopping" around. u__u

4. Kitten1977 I feel the same way. I don't have a doll set in my mind when I hear grail dolls, I just fall in love with what I do and buy dolls based on my feelings and ideals at the time. I'll probably never have a grail doll and that is perfectly fine by me.

5. Yeah, I really don't do the grail thing either. The dolls I have, I wanted a LOT... but they weren't "grails". (Though my April Story Adrienne might have become one had I not managed to get her right before she was discontinued!) I never had any intention of having a huge collection or permanently being in the active buying phase of the hobby, so I am close to the end of my actual wishlist already... and the two dolls left on it are just the ones I haven't gotten to buying yet. Neither of them are limited or discontinued--- they're both just basics easily available from their respective companies. There are a few rare/discontinued/limited dolls that I think are super cool, but I wouldn't call them grails because I don't have any intention of trying to attain them... I'm pretty content to admire them from a distance when someone posts pics.
