1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dream of Doll (DOD) bad expirience

Jun 13, 2007

    1. Well, in that case, the way we see the world differs drastically. I enjoy this hobby a lot and customs with their delays and fees is an obstacle that stand on the way, and sure I'm not happy about it and release my frustration by complaining (I mostly do it on my private LJ). I vent, I receive support, I get over it. In the end I like dolls a lot more than I get angry at customs and it makes it worth it for me.

As for hobby being all enjoyment... Well, I wouldn't say it's 100% happiness even without customs. There's also postal service and they damage and loose packages. There are tons of other frustrations: face-up didn't turn out right, missed on limited doll, got cheated by dishonest sellers, can't bond with the doll, sold the doll and miss it... etc, etc, etc. We put up with it, because in the end it's still worth it, isn't it?

Sorry for being blunt, but your statement pushed my buttons a bit, because I really don't like reading things like "You shouldn't be in this hobby", no matter which arguments are used to back it up (too poor, can't deal with customs, don't like the quality of the doll received, disappointed with company's customer's service). I think no one has the right to tell people things like that, it's everyone's personal choice what hobby they would like to have. And it's for everyone to decide whether they think it's worth it or not.

    2. Luna-rouge Thank you! My sentiments exactly.

That's exactly the reason why I am so upset , because DOD is a company and if they want to create a steady costumer relationship, they should stick to their promises. It's not a private seller that in the end decided to do whatever he wants with his property. They should have said so if they weren't going to do that favor for me and if they changed their mind halfway, they have my email and they can get in contact with me.

And yes it is my loss for not be able to shop directly from them, because I adore their dolls!

    3. Okay, I think everyone needs to cool off and just think calmly for a moment.

First off, from what I could follow so far, darkangelxix mentioned that in the past that she had done business with DOD and they have respected her wishes before. However for this particular time, they didn't even though they had written agreement. (I'm sorry for not noticing this sooner.)This is the main issue right now. Because of that, darkangelxix assumed that it was taken care of. Apparently, it wasn't and they fail to mention this after they shipped her package. As a consquence, it ended up in customs longer than she hoped and have to pay for the custom fees.

So from what I could gather, by not communicating that they did not labelled it as a gift, it has become this huge fiasco. I still stand by that companies aren't oligated to do such a thing, but they gave you their word and that, in itself, legally binds them to do what have been asked. My guess is that someone else was handling your package and not the person who agreed to your request... Miscommunication between their workers and stuff. If you still have the e-mail that states that they did agree, I would think that you're entitled for a refund directly from them for "damages" on your part or at least a written apology of some sort. I really think you need some closure about this matter to overcome this.

As for customs, well... Complaining about it is unavoidable especially how it led up to this.

    4. No I am sorry I don't keep all the emails I get, I only keep payments that I have sent and payment that I have received for a certain period of time. I agree that this must come to an end. I will not ask DOD for any money, because I don't think that's right. It is my unique sence of justice...I also see it as part of my promise to them, that if anything goes wrong during shipping I will not ask for refund or bother them. The doll isn't damaged or lost, why should I ask them for money??? Also, since I understand that this might have been a mistake and not just someone's willfull descition, I cannot ask them to give me money because I had to pay costum fees. I really wish that people start understanding what I wanted to show by posting this matter in the first place.

DOD is great company and I love their dolls, but to all that are interested in having their dolls declared as gifts with lower value, DOD will probably not do it. Maybe because they don;t want to, or because they forget to do it. My only complain is that I was not notified about this (again this migh have happened because they forget to do what I aksed by mistake) and I am angry because I have to pay fees and get into this trouble without been prepared properly or bewarned.

I would also like it alot if this subject comes to end.

    5. Man. Sorry it's so difficult for you to get your doll, you must feel awful :| Well, at least the perks of having a big country is the fact that there are actually places to visit. My country is a city state, pretty much no where to go when you're bored or want a day trip out...

    6. I really don't know what to say, maybe it's true, you can take some trips here in Greece, go and see the islands... but I have heard that Singapore is a very interesting place to visit and I am dreaming that one I will be able to do all the trips I want and visit Singapore as well:)

    7. On the one hand I'm sorry it didn't work out the way you hoped, darkangelxix. I'm sorry you won't be ordering from DOD anymore, they are beautiful dolls.

On the other hand... Yes, DOD made a mistake. They should have told you the first time you asked that they couldn't fulfill your request, for all the reasons other members have stated; even if it did mean losing a customer. But, you also made a mistake by not being prepared in the case that you did have to pay customs.

Shtuff happens, hun. The only thing you can do is believe that it will work itself out. If you ever order another doll, even if you have a written mark-down agreement with that company; wait a little longer to order and make sure you have the extra money on hand, and a ride standing by to take you to Athens.

    8. thank you for your advice and understanding.

My fiance said he is willing to take me to Athens...for 50 euros:pp LOL:lol:

    9. Lol. I really hope you get your doll soon, it must be like having an itch you cant scratch knowing she is in the country. Im dreading to think how much the customs vampires are gonna drain from my purse when i get my E-an (i still got at least a 4 week wait).

    10. It is too bad DoD told you they would mark it down as a gift.
Hopefully, with your next dolls (from whatever company) you have better luck.

    11. I'm not so sure if there's as many greece bjd collectors as there are americans to
      1. have that many dolls to "conveniently" be adopted
      2. to have the doll that you WANT to be "conveniently" available for adoption.

    12. I know this is OT but..... come to Malaysia XDDDDDDD *hides*

    13. I only know 4 Greek bjd collector. Two of them are into Dollfie Dreams exclusively... so it's mainly me and Memole:)

    14. I just wanted to let everyone know that my Ean has been finally released from costums and she will be here tomorrow!!!! She has been kept in costums for 26 days but she is finally free!!!

    15. congrats~!

i hope all these hassle wouldn't dampen your days when you're with her~

    16. Oh dear, I hope my country doesn't have customs like that. Well at least you have your doll now!

    17. Grats on your imminent arrival.
