1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dream of Doll DoT Boy reviews and opinions

Dec 15, 2006

    1. lol ya there are alot of horror stories out there, luckly I haven't had one yet.

I'm not at home now, but I should be going home tomorrow. When I get home I'll measure him and let you know! :)

    2. Oh thank you SOOOO MUUCH!!! =O!! It's just that I'm making some clothes and I need that one small detail >.< =3 thanks again! And your Ducan is amazing!

    3. hehe your welcome! I'm sure making clothes without knowing how long to make them is a big tough ;) I would make clothes for my kids but I'm so sewing machine challenged it's not even funny!

      >.< THANK YOU!!! I love Kael to death I'm thankfull every day that I was able to finally get him :D

    4. Sewing machine challenged? me too haha, I tried sewing Camine a hoodie last night... but the sewing machine litterally ate part of it ='( So I just stuck to trying to sew by hand after that. It is a pain... but it gets done EVENTUALLY.

Your welcome =) I can't wait to get my Camine, and seeing how happy others are with their dolls from DoD just pushes me farther to get him.

    5. LOL thats funny I hand sew too! I've hand sewn some shirts for the boys and they actually came out really well which I was totally surprised.

Your really going to love your Camine!! I'm so excited for you :D

Okay so I got home and measured Kael. It looks like from neck to belly button it's 13cm, but that depends on if that's where you want your boys pants to sit or not. Kael's naturally sit below the belly button and I measured that and it's 15cm.

This is what I mean since I can't describe it very well lol.

For Kael he wears more loose fitting pants so that's probably why they seem to sit lower, it really depends on where the pants hit..... so ya anyway I'm done babbling for now lol I hope that helps!! :D

    6. Exactly! I made a sweater for him not really knowing what I was doing and it turned out pretty good! I'm not sure if it'll fit though. Hopefully.
Awww! Thanks, I'm excited too XD!
Thanks for the messurement, that was MUCH needed! And very appreciated.
=3 oh my, Kael looks so good in those jeans! They look like real jeans!!! >.<
Thanks for all the help =D

    7. No prob any time :) hehe I'm sure it will fit, sweaters are pretty easy to make just like shirts.

The credit for those jeans goes to See No Evil. She makes amazing clothes and they are soooo detailed! The great part is that everything works on them... zipper, pockets everything lol. I highly recommend her!

    8. <3 Oh!! her clothes are amazing, as soon as I get Camine I'll be sure to buy from her! =D thanks for giving me the link to her little shop. Wow.

    9. ...I had a question about this too. May I add on?
What's wrong with DOD's acrylic eyes? ..Oh. I want a DOD sha too.
      :O

    10. I don't think anyone mentioned this... but DOT's seam lines are perfection. They don't come sanded but my boy doesn't even need it. I was worried about that because he was my first doll and I had no idea how to sand so the fact that they come so well finished was a relief :sweat

    11. We're looking into buying Ducan and Shall. <3 And maybe later Ivan and Kirill. It's like starting a family. Damnit, they're addicting.

If you get your boy before us, let us know how it goes. And...let us see him, too. Since you don't live too far away. :aheartbea We wanna check 'em out.

    12. Omg. This thread was revived from so many months ago. *_*

Its funny. Cos for awhile I was obsessed with DOTs but now I really don't have much interest in them any more. There are a few DOCs that I like, but I'm sorta primarily into Luts now.

    13. I'm glad this thread was revived. :) I've been looking at the Lahoo head for months now. Glad to know the resin is pale and not pinkish at all. But a smaller head might be a problem for me and so now I'm stuck in another rut. D: And bad customer service is totally pet peeve of mine.

Can anyone tell me the circumferance of a Lahoo head? Sorry if it's posted somewhere, there's so many threads in here, I wouldn't know where to look first. :?

    14. Lahoo's head is about 8.5 inches:)Its actually posted on DOD's site, together with the rest of their body measurements. I actually love the smaller heads of DOTs, it gives them a rather delicate, refined look

    15. I'm glad I got a chance to see this thread as well. The more I see pics of Ducan, the more my decision to save towards him is confirmed as good thinkin'.

There's just something about that sculpt, and the way it looks like he has a sexy little smile from certain angles. I don't think I could buy an overtly frowning doll.

(And it's good to know that he fits the Dollheart shoes. I'm going to start accruing clothes along the way, so he doesn't sit on my shelf in his draws for a month or two after I order him.)

    16. I'm sorry
But i'm REALLY not sure if i'm in the right place D:
I know i've seen this question before but i can't find the thread :I

Is it cheaper to buy a a already made doll rather then a custom?
like buying a tender shall vs. buying the body eyes hair faceup ect.?

    17. on DOD buying the 'Shall' is cheaper than buying her head and body separately. When buying the whole meal deal you get the eyes and wig along with head and body and I believe the spare hands. Buying separately means you only get the body and head (no spare hands, no eyes and no wig). Make up you buy separately regardless same with clothes and shoes etc unless it's a full set

the head fits 8-9 size wigs (like Iplehouse) rather than the 9-10 wigs from Volks or Luts.

Clothes aren't too hard to find. DollHeart is ok, but the fit is different than on my CP boy. the girls are much narrower than say Luts (much more like say a peakswood girl) though curvy and busty. Shoes aren't a big problem anymore either for the most part (for the boys as they have wider feet than most) since a lot more bigger footed dolls are being produced and hence more shoe selection for them

as for customer service I've never had an issue. If the wait is an issue try the Q&A board rather than email as they are notorious for having ISP issues with certain email addresses (hotmail, MAC, Yahoo - hit or miss really)

    18. Thank you :)

I'm planning on buying my first this summer so I want to have the basics down :3

I was planning on buying from dollheart. I've heard that the outfits are usually a little too short on DOTs but I thought it might not be a problem since the outfit I plan on buying is not very fitted and the sleeves are pretty long likewise the dress. (its one of the maid outfits)

I also heard that dollmore usually fits but i think that depends on the outfit as well

& I know that MSD wigs from other companies usually fit better then SD wigs from other companies
