Dream Realm 70cm boys Discussion

They just put him up, because he wasn't there yesterday. (I have been haunting the site)

I like him as well, but he seems to be cast in a different shade of resin...or is that the lighting in the photos?

 

I really want to be able to see the heads without make-up, the pointy eye brows aren't my style ^_^; they seem to be rather nicely sculpted and I don't think the body is the worst- it at least has the double joints in some places though the shoulders are odd.
Is there a buying selling thread? or has anyone had luck with it? I tend to be wary unless I have the steps in 123 order and would like to think about possibly buying a doll from them.

argh... i don't have money yet! that would be 2 molds from Dream Realm i would be wanting now! Chinese Boy, is your sale promotion still ongoing ;^;? (<--i wish this would go on until December at least...! really not enough money right now ;^;...)

 

That boy is seriously gorgeous. I know who's getting added to MY crew, mreehee. The more I look at him the more it's DO WANT. Maybe Chinese Boy could clear up the order procedure for us? I was just going to try placing an order via email... Heh.

I hate to be the one to say this, but I'm almost positive the bodies are copies of the older Dollzone 70cm bodies. The arms and legs are, at least, and the lower part of the torso, while shaped a little different around the base of the upper torso, still has the same genitals.

i wish they wont so big though. maybe 1/4. is there such things as a 1/5 scale? i never seen them around.

 

That would actually make sense if the arms and legs were copied but the torso was different—look at the shoulder joints; they don't really look like they fit well in the torso. D: they stick out waaaay too much. Looks really unnatural.

I like the nose proportion on this one, his face/expression looks so familiar to another sculpt I've seen but I just can't put my finger on it. I thought his face was smiley/smirky at first and figured I'd be safe this time since I need a frowny one but it looks neutral to me D: Oh nuuu....

Eva, I thought so too but the hands look different, the torso is different and the height is slightly different. what if the sculptor is the same for dollzone? cuz I got this impression that DZ got new sculptor with their new boys XD; oh well, who knows?

 

I do love the new boy. ;o; What an AWESOME nose. I waaaaaaant him.

It looks entirely too similar to be either not a copy or not the same sculptor. But unless someone can confirm that it is one of the Dollzone sculptors, I'm going to assume that this is a copy.

 

E-mail them. People have been comment all along the similarities with DZ. The same sculptor I think is worth the large benefit of the doubt considering that and that it is the limbs and the pelvic that is the same and if those that do copy don't have the skill and are too lazy to make parts period.
I am going to wait to see what it is before throwing a stone- the word copy snowballs into havoc quickly so cool heads should prevail.

Those two bodies look different to me. The man boobs and pecs stick out more in the Dream Realm body....kay I like this one better than the DZ.

 

You may wait to suspend judgement until you have facts. There are a few "in progess" pics of the body on their forum.

 

How did I not notice these boys before? Xiao Chi makes me feel like a organ has ruptured (in the most pleasant way possible).

 

That body is not at all a copy, unless there was some pretty extensive modifications done, which kind of defeats the point. Aside from both of them being kind of awkward looking in the same general way, the DZ 70cm bodies' elbows connect at a slightly odd slant, where the Dream Realm bodies have the more regular flat curve--and this is comparing the same arm in the same position. (DZ 70 elbows are pretty distinctive.) Certainly the torsos aren't the same, as the DR torso is much smoother and less chunky than the old DZ 70. The legs are, of course, pretty generic so I don't know why anyone would assume those are a copy. The old DZ bodies had a seamline around the upper thigh, the DR bodies do not. About the only thing that's similar on them are the hands, which I'll give you are pretty close, and the genitals, which is fair enough I suppose. It seems odd to me that they would have conviently fixed the strange way the DZ lower torso joint sits--it's quite too thick--and have it fit their own torso like a dream.
