1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dream Realm 70cm boys Discussion

Sep 22, 2008

    1. Nice to see more and more people liking them :)))!
I still wish they'd offer heads only :P!

    2. Katie-Raven - did you get a reply from Dream Realm concerning shipping options? I'm very reluctant to order with UPS or DHL shipping.

    3. There is a thread to discuss the [thread=248840]shipping costs and types for Dream Realm[/thread] in the Buying & Shipping subforum already, please take your questions about shipping there so this thread can stay focused on the actual dolls. Thanks! :)

    4. What beautifull sculpts! and prices my wallet feels happier about! lol. anyone managed to get their mitts on one of these yet? Xiao Chi is screaming to come and join the quickly growing hoard but i have got to win the lotto to get them lol

    5. StephG has a Rad.Coreco--otherwise I don't think anyone has any yet.

    6. I do have Rad, and he's wonderful - here's a pic of him, just before his head was packed up. He's getting his eyes opened a bit, and then on to get a faceup.

He's got kind of a David Carradine/John Lennon thing going. Lol... Showing my age, I guess. ;>)

Anyway, there are a lot of things to like about this doll - gorgeous sculpt on the head (even with the narrow eyes, which I don't want for my character) - a body that poses nicely (thank goodness!) - and a great price! I LOVE his broad shoulders - and they swivel a bit, giving him nice poseability there. His legs pop into a groove when he sits, and then pop out when he stands, as his knees pop IN, making posing easy. I haven't wired or hot glued him yet, but that will only make him even more stable. I love the fact that you can pose his torso forward in his hip joint, allowing him to have a natural sitting forward pose - unlike many single jointed torso male dolls. That was my one worry about this guy, actually - I just don't like that poker-up-the-backside pose of the doll without an upper torso joint. but he's able to rock forward to any angle I need, so I'm happy.

My only issue right now is figuring out how to get hands and feet off. One hand had a broken finger when he arrived, and Dream Realm very nicely replaced it. The hand arrived yesterday, but I can't remove the hand that's on there. They use a clip like a small clip you'd see on a zipper pull or a keychain - it closes in on itself, and takes pressure on one part of it to spring it open. :? I'm just clueless about how to even try to get it open enough to slip the elastic cord out. It's just...impossible. I could put ribbon through the neckhole cord, and take off the LARGE S-hook there, and that would release tension on everything, I'm guessing. But then trying to pull that out again....mmm...not sure I have the arm strength for that. I suppose hubby could do it... Anyway, the clip system is different from anything I've seen before, and it will make for difficult hand and foot removal. I've written to DR asking if there are any tricks to doing this, that I'm just missing. They've been very nice, so I'm sure I'll hear back from them.

Anyway, here's a couple pics for you!

    7. He's such an attractive doll! I can't wait to have one of my own...!

    8. They now have a new boy called black crown

He is a real beauty :D

    9. Gah! Now he's gorgeous, too! Dream Realm, stop it, you are making me want too many new dolls. >w< Congrats on the doll btw Heceta!

    10. So purdy. BTW, those clippy thingies in Rad's hands are called carabiners, and if you pull the hand way out, and slide a pencil under the elastic to keep it from popping back down into the forearm, you should have plenty of opportunity to get the carabiner open without too much injury. pull the elastic up to the top end (widest) of the carabiner, THEN try to push it in on itself, and slip the elastic past. It may require some wiggling, but that's why you use the pencil to hold the elastic.... so you dont need ten extra pairs of hands to adjust as you go.

I'm actually pretty impressed with this development.... S-hooks are so friekin dangerous for flesh AND resin. So many sharp edges, not to mention the easy time S-hooks have of snapping back into the armhole, taking chunks of wrists and ankles with them.

    11. just two shots of my Xiao Chi.
I really love him and his wonderful nose :D

    12. I'd do just that, except I can't get his hands OR his feet out far enough. Believe me, I'm used to doing the pencil thing...having removed and change many hands on my other dolls. The lanyard hooks are in so far that I can't reach them to do anything. I may end up taking off the S-hook at the neck and releasing all the tension, to be able to do this. I'll take an S-hook any day, over this annoyance...

    13. Fantastic! He's great! Congrats!!!

    14. My xiao chi has changed his look. I´m so much more in love with him now. I´m deffently going to bring one more boy hgome from Dream Realm in the new year.

This is a Dream Realm faceup. It is very nice. :)
The resin seems good, he is white skin and it is very white. It took about 6 weeks from payment to arrival.

Hope to see many, many more!

P.S. I think someone wanted to know how the head works with Dollshe bodies...Ill go check.

    16. He's wonderful! I'm ordering right after Christmas and having a really hard time deciding which one to choose. ACK!

    17. The posts made about the possibility that Dream Realm has in some way copied DZ have been moved from this thread and into their own. The new thread will remain locked until the Mod team has a chance to look into the issue. Any further discussion of it in this thread will be removed. Thanks for understanding. :candycane

    18. He's fantastic! Congratulations! I'd be interested in your take of how his hands are attached... I still can't get the hand off on my boy.

    19. Waaah! He IS good-looking, and I actually rather like their faceup. :D
