I'm pretty sure they are strung with jewelry elastic. They sell it at my local bead shop and at craft stores.
Yes, I did notice the elastic stringing! Very innovative, my Elfdoll tinies (also 14cm) are strung with "normal" stringing. I wouldn't have thought to use just plain jewelry elastic! Even though I use it for stretch bracelets all the time! Sometimes I could kick myself for lack of creativity!
yeah I undid and restrung my Gaia to paint him, and it is clear jewelry elastic, the nice strong but stretchy kind. The S-hooks are probably custom bent by Donnie out of wire- they are amazingly small, so don't lose them if you unstring one of these fairies.
My Elvenia traveled to France for her face up & beautiful wig & outfit all by the sweet & talented heliantas . She is now known as Georgette & is very special to me. Cozy afternoon by Jonquil O, on Flickr
Thank you PrincessR...she is still one of my favorites & I'm still fascinated with the fine detail of her gorgeous face up. Her tiny dog is by an amazing miniature artist Teresa Summers. Thought my wee French fairy should have a French breed as her special little pet!
She is totally adorable (and the dog). It is so imaginative to have her as a pretty lady instead of just going with the elf aspect.
I never realised that these were on topic for DoA! I think that my only doll-related regret over the years i've been in the hobby has been not ordering Elvene when I he came out. I doubt I'll ever find one second hand, but I suppose I'll keep my eyes open
You'd be amazed what Fabric Friends and Dolls has up their sleeves from time to time as a dealer for DH. I didn't see an Elvene but they have a few other dolls that were limited edition.
Thanks for the heads up, I always forget that there are actual dealers out there! I should probably keep a closer look on the second hand market as well.
Cheers! Also a reminder: Please you guys, look back through this thread and make sure your pics are functional. Photobucket has gone weird, and a few other sites change things and their images "die".
