1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

DreamHigh Studio Discussion Thread - Part 2

Oct 27, 2015

    1. I just had an incoming bjd get lost for 5 days, and not that far from home! What a harrowing experience! I started an email trace and that must have caused them to actually hunt for my parcel. He arrived yesterday! Sure hope they find your Willie soon, wilkies!!!

So glad you're finally comfortable with 1:12 furniture for your Ben, Wovenflame.

    2. How well the elves sit in a chair depends on how deep the seat is. I tried my Aldou on a living room type upholstered chair and if he sat with his back against the back of the chair, his legs stuck out straight. If I moved him forward so his legs were bent and on the floor, there was too much room behind him so he wasn't very steady sitting that way.

    3. That's what decorative cushions are for - to stuff behind dolls with short legs.

    4. I'm not fond of the twins for that reason. They are too young. They look like they are in their late teens to early twenties in my opinion. Still, how nice that they aren't the usual fair faced perfection with clear, perfect skin like most sculptors go for. There is an honesty about them, if that makes sense?

Oh no! How upsetting for you! I once sent a Realpuki from here in Canada to his new owner in Germany. He got as far as "out for delivery" there and yet never showed up. The purchaser did some in depth enquiries there and the postal people couldn't figure out what happened. SIX MONTHS later he showed up, back on MY doorstep! By then we had requested and received a refund for the insured value plus postage. I ended up sending him back to her so she ended up with both the doll and her refund, but it took seven months! We joked that he had gone on a world tour before settling down again. I hope that after all of your waiting the outcome is a happy one. Have you considered requesting a refund? Was the package insured?

As pointed out their big heads make their bodies seem a bit tall for 1:12 scale and their short legs can leave their feet dangling, but I think it's completely workable. I now have a chair in mind, just choking on the price tag!, and I'm thinking through room box/display ideas.

My biggest surprise with the 1:12 scale items is that in some ways the elves are too small for them! I figured they'd absolutely be too BIG. I can work with these chairs though. It's close enough. I'm handy craftwise. I'll make a decorative cushion to stuff in behind him and/or provide him with a stool for his feet, since I don't think they will fully touch the floor even if he is at the edge of his seat. I know my daughter's Pukifee doesn't quite touch the floor in the little wooden kitchen chair.

Not just dolls. I'm exactly the same way myself. It's not that my legs are too short. I just sit with my hips way back in a chair, quite upright, just like my grandmother. I use a cushion behind me and also a stool with my glider chair. My grandmother used a GIANT, thick dictionary under her feet. I do mean giant! That thing was at least a foot thick. A miniature version of that would be fun for a room box!

    5. @wilkies Slighthoundlady just had a doll that was missing for months randomly turn up on tracking! Fingers crossed your doll magically appears soon for you too!

@Wovenflame Completely get what you mean about honesty to them. I love the details of their skin!

    6. Does anyone have the lovebirds or owl dolls? If they are on topic Iโ€™d love to see pics

    8. Congratualtions @opal! I ordered Oli. I literally put Wren and took her out of my basket several times... but I just couldn't bring myself to get both. Money is too tight and uncertain in my future. She's very cute so it was a really tough decision! I think Oli will be a good companion for Ben, I imagine like a little apprentice :)

    13. I couldn't afford both either, so settled on Wren. :) My tinies need a grandmama to bake cookies, tuck them in bed and generally ride herd on them. She will need a tiny whip and a chair, lol!

    14. @opal She will be an adorable little grandma! She's so happy, she'll be perfect with cooking props <3

Hahah, tiny whip! Any grandma's secret weapon :D

    15. That's such wonderful news! Mine arrived the same day, also in the Netherlands. My guess is, with all the parcels coming in for Christmas, they got somewhere in a corner at the customs office , and they didn't scan until the 15th of February. So happy!

    16. I'm so glad that he made it home!

    17. Willie is trying to decide what to wear:

Flever DIY kits work great for Micros. This is the sofa from "Kitten Dreams". I replaced the blue gingham that came with the kit with fabric from my scrap box. The wallpaper and flooring was in the kit.
