Things I appreciate most: The colors, composition, proportion, costumes, characters, and the implied story.

For U.S. orders, everything goes to Fabric and Friends on the easr coast and then she ships the individual orders out. There is a Chinese shippig service that sends everthing to an east coast hub also.

 

I only recently found out about DHS and the House Elves so my order wasn't directly through Donny. I snagged one of the last few Bens from Fabric and Friends so my Ben went there first and then crossed the border into Canada at that side of the continent.

I just got a notice that Ben has cleared Customs and has been handed over to Canada Post. In case you weren't aware, Canada Post isn't known for being speedy either, so I'll not likely see him until the end of next week. I've ordered lots of dolls that have entered Canada from that direction and it usually takes a couple of days to cross Canada and then a day in a provincial sorting centre, and then depending on what time it leaves the provincial centre, it is usually another day before I see an "out for delivery" notice.

That goes for any orders at all through Fabric and Friends, so now my Ben has to cross Canada as well. He may end up being the latest, most well travelled Ben ever.

 

I find Canada Post very speedy. But then I live just outside Toronto with it's major International Airport, so as soon as something arrives there, I get it the next day. Even when things come in through Vancouver or Montreal, I tend to get it the very next day.

 

Interesting! Perhaps Toronto has a high priority rating or something. I received another update. The expected delivery date is April 18th, so yes, another 6 days yet even though he is now in Montreal. He's also coming with a ransom note of CAD $51.47 duty and taxes. Ugh.

 

My Ben is taking a similar path as Wovenflame's, but from Toronto. His tracking info hasn't updated since Sunday, when he arrived in their customs. The cartoonish update shows him half way through 'in transit', however. I was hoping he'd be here today, sigh.

 

Perhaps my Ben hitched a cross Canada ride with MB Lilac's dragon, Winston? (I can only wish he might be arriving accompanied by his own personal dragon like the awesome one her Willie has befriended). He covered the width of Canada in only one night! He's in Richmond, only a couple of towns away from me! That still doesn't mean I'll get him today. Usually it's another day for parcels to reach my community, get sorted locally, and then "out for delivery". I'm expecting he'll be here by Monday even though the estimated delivery is still listed as Wednesday.

My poor Ben is being held in custody with the customs, there's something about an information request being sent to the client (last wednesday), but I haven't received anything yet........

 

Oh no! I hope you receive him soon. I ended up making three separate trips to the postal outlet after getting a "delivered" notice that was NOT true. I finally found him this afternoon and paid a large ransom. He's home now and resting up after his big trip.

He looks very comfortable in his chair, wearing his lovely sweater and snuggled in that afghan!

 

Oh my gosh. Donny is coming out with a new sculpt with amazing elf ears. Phairby Flowers the fairy. I want it already even though I told myself "no more". If she comes with fairy wings, it will be a must have.

 

I was never really happy with this second, larger chair. Just yesterday I got a sudden inspiration for where I want to go with the Ben sculpt and I went out and bought supplies for not one, but TWO new chairs. At the time I didn't know why the second chair, but have you seen the new sculpt-in-the-works?!! Oh I do hope it's of a size to be a wife for Ben!! From the bit I can see so far I think she'd be perfect! If I'm not mistaken even the body looks a little more matronly? Is that a bit of a tummy I see?

Luckily for me I didn't care a lot for the twins (they are too young for my vision) and figured I should wait and see if something more appropriate came up in the future. Yay! If she is of a size with the other House Elves I'll be ordering her for sure!

 

Ah NOOOOooooooo! Just realized she isn't the same size as the House Elves. I don't think she'll work for me then. Rats.

 

Tired of the ice and snow, Willie & friends are taking shelter under a large mushroom.
Unfortunately there's not enough room for Winston....

 

Poor Winston! He's welcome to come to California for a vacation!

 

She looks quite lovely and is only 1 1/2 cm taller than Ben. We'll see though, eh, as "House Elf" wasn't actually mentioned.

 

Poor Winston! Don't let your wings get iced up!!!
