Aww, I was hoping she was not off-topic as I received mine yesterday and am enchanted. Why does she not meet criteria, may I ask? Lucy
Lucy, you might try the "Ask the Mods" subforum for that one -- I'm not sure either, since she is resin, ball-jointed, can change eyes, and can wear a wig -- I think it may be a question of aesthetics because she doesn't have a nose, but it's a really fine line between some of the other DH fairies and Feilene -- I think she's consistent with the style of their other fae creatures. !
She's here!!! Unfortunately she arrived after dark, so this was the only image that didn't turn out completely horrible :P But you were all right that I didn't get how small she would be. Her new bed is a matchbox!
I'm so happy - my Dragonia is whole and sitting next to me as I type. There's a whole story behind this - I got her in early October and the 2nd day I owned her I knocked her and my realpuki off a table and onto a hard floor. Oops! The Realpuki was fine, but he landed on top of Dragonia and one knee and lower leg shattered. It was entirely my fault and you can imagine how upset I was. But Donny was delightful and sent me replacement parts free of charge, for just the cost of postage they arrived this afternoon and a lttle bit of fiddly stringing later she is as good as new. I'll try to get some photos uploaded later tonight. In the meantime I love other people's photos on this thread so much!
Outch, Tide N Thyme, that's really not good! I'm glad you got a replacement part, but I really don't envy you the restringing job! I've just spent the day making clothes and a swing to my little blue one, and I feel all cross-eyed now XD
feather - that is adorable! and it must have been tiny work making it. The restringing wasn't too bad - I used lots of wooden cocktail sticks to hold the elastic and a 1mm crochet hook to pull it through the pieces - I don't know what I would have done if the hook hadn't fit though!
In that case, I demand pictures! I thought I was the only Dragonia owner on DoA :P The swing was dead easy. A single popsicle stick and a pair of scissors. The trousers on the other hand... I am never doing those again!
Okay - I need to get a gallery up but in the meantime please see a first photo of my Dragonia - I thought a candid shot might give an impression of just how tiny she is - this is with a stadard size lip balm and nail polish
It looks to me as if Dragonia is the only micro fairy still available direct from DHS. I bought mine from Fabric Friends and Dolls who are the US agent and they have a couple of exclusives so it might be worth checking their site. Otherwise as feather says it looks like the secondary market - DHS dolls seem to come in really tiny editions. In the meantime, here's another photo of Dragonia
I just ordered my blue Piko, I will post lots of pix when she arrives! I plan on making her a wig and clothes, I'm pretty sure it will be a challenge! I'm so excited though, she's just too cute.
Just dropping back in here to say I LOVE your Dragonia Tide N Thyme, super congrats on your arrival feather, so cute! and I can't wait to see your Piko Slersk! My Harpy is coming up for the end of its production time, hopefully only another 2 or so weeks until she ships!
Holey CRAP!!! I've been bussy so I dropped of the boards for a while, but I'm glad to see that some folk finally showed up to this thread!!! I the micro-faeries, but I really can't afford to have as many as I'd like. I'd love a Harpy and a Fira, but Frezia would be redundant I think with my Dragonia. 8^)
I've just gotten a Frezia recently from Fabric Friends and Dolls. Photos coming soon. They really are the teeniest creatures. I've been looking for something to put her in to wear; a big pocket watch case or something of that nature, just for fun.
