DreamingDoll Discussion (Ddollshop) , Part 2

Jul 19, 2013

1. I bought my Ryuna about four weeks ago. Although I am still waiting for her, I have heard that she poses like an angel! (Not literally but she poses very well) I also heard that she stands very well, too.

Here is a video you can watch on the Little Elva sculpt -

And here is a box opening :) -

I hope you find what you are looking for! ~

2. Dreamer In A Box: I think the bodies pose rather well. The only thing I dislike is the single joints of the knees, but so far I've been able to work with that. As for hybriding... I just got a DIM GSE body yesterday, that poses really great so far and has pretty advanced joints and joint helps. I put a DDoll Hiro head onto it and thought the head is a bit darker than the body, I personally don't mind. Can't show anything off yet, as I've got her on the sewing table so she'll be decend, but I think that will soon be done :3

3. I got my Ryuna two days ago! She's so beautiful! :D

4. Little photo spam of my Airi
[IMG]

5. Well, you have to be very lucky (or I have to be very unlucky) because my Airi stands very bad on her own, she's kicking with her legs really horibly and constantly backbends. The body is very beautiful visually, yes, maybe even the most beautifully sculpted of all companies, but I kinda think, that she poses very bad. My friend has Lia with same problem.
Hot glue sueding helped a bit, at least she poses nicely with her legs, when she's sitting or lying on back and stopped kicking - but I still refuse to take other photos. Or make her stand, as long as it only frustrates me. They say, that Iples are bad posers, but they, at least, can stand on their own.

Other thing I don't like are hands. They seem to be too big to the body. And weirdly posed, too. My friend bought jointed hands from magic time and it fitted, I bought the same in the same tone and it didn't match the colour very well. So I got stuck with dreamingdoll's hands.

Still - the body looks really nice, and if you want doll with mature features, it's a good choice. Just don't expect extra posing from little elvas. If you are used to bodies, which pose good, it may be hard to bond with that doll. I was thinking about selling her several times, after I got her. But I got used to that bad posing ability in time.

6. Hi there, thinking of getting Hiro but dislike the single jointed knees. Wanna get him a more mature and taller body. Anybody have good resin match? How do they fare with, lets say... normal pink/yellow or white skin like Dollzone/MysticKids/Dikadoll?

Any help is appreciated!

7. Ceress
That's a shame! My Ryuna stands on her own very well. She does have a kicking problem though xc. Do you thinking re-stringing would help that?
Also, her body is very beautiful (: she doesn't backbend unless I make her so that's a good thing.
I happen to love her hands. The fact that they are different and not perfect makes me love her even more. Yes, she has HUGE hands, but they are able to work with. I'd give dreaming doll a 6.5/10. Beautiful bodies and sculpts. I just don't know about the kicking. Her arms pose really well too.

8. LadyKnight: DZ NSY is very unlikely to match, annnnd not sure about current NSP, but it definitely wasn't a match back in 2013.
(and naturally, DZ WS wouldn't be a match either since it's even paler than NSP.)
Course their resins may have changed some since I last got a DZ doll, but outside of their tan skin, I don't think they'd veer too far off from what they had when I got my dolls.

The only real trouble I've had with my DDoll girl and boy has been just that they like to flop forward at the hips, but I have a few dolls like that, so it's nothing worse than usual. Never had much trouble getting either to stand, hell, my Lia is even pretty solid in some of her heels. I do have to agree with Ceress about the hands on the girls, though. I used to really like them, and I still do, but they're just so big. x_x; I've been tempted to get her some Minifee hands lately.

9. Singull : Thanks for the details. Looks like I might have to reconsider other options. Does this mean DDoll match pretty well with Minifee? What other companies do they match when it comes to NS/WS?

10. LadyKnight: DDoll NS (new) goes well with Souldoll ns (new) DDoll is a bit darker. Also I put one of my Hiro heads on a DIM GSE (it's a girl) body. In this case DIM is more pinkish/darker, but not to a degree it bothers me. I could try taking a pic sometime this weekend :3

11. Snowy : Gosh, I actually have a DIM body (head's on a DoC body) and it's the older, taller one used by the Ace/Jullis sxulpt. Need to check the neck circumference. But I think it should fit. Except I'm not too fond of the joints. Then again I haven't played much with it.

And by Souldoll, do you mean the older body or the new NL one? Anyway just checked that the NL neck is 7.7cm while Hiro's 7cm. DX. Whereas DiM one is 8cm. Oh man! That aside, I found threads with DIM and DZ pink hybrid so I think DZ might also work? Or any companies that offer normal pink. Crossing fingers so much.

12. Can I request a Ryuna spam!? :D <3

13. Question for your fine Little Elva owners: Does Dreaming Doll typically host a summer event? I've almost saved up enough for a Lia and I'm wondering whether I should just buy now or wait. Many thanks!

ETA: Okay, I politely asked Dreaming Doll if they are planning a summer event and this was their reply.

I *think* that's saying they're going to have one but they don't know when yet and/or what it'll be for. Or maybe that's my wishful thinking talking.

Anyway, I just wanted to share their response.

14. I do know that Dreaming Doll just made a new SD boy body, but so far it's only for sale through NineStyle. I asked Dreaming Doll a couple months back when they were going to release it directly and they said they would after they updated their website. They then said that they were planning to update the website with release of the new body before summer. Sounding like that could be delayed more based on what they told you, but I've also got my fingers crossed for an event!

15. LadyKnight, I know that the resin for Fairyland is almost an exact match, and the heads fit very well on the body. I modified the eyes of my Airi and put her on a Minifee body, and it matches very well. Here she is in natural lighting (dont mind the messy wig or chip in faceup, please!)

To those talking about the ability to stand, it may need to be restrung. My Airi couldnt stand until I restrung her, and then she could stand VERY well, even in her high heeled feet with no shoes. the Ddoll body has a great slouch, too. Naturally, they do have a severe arch to the back, but I always just had her slouched a bit for a more natural pose.

EDIT: Fairyland hand on the Ddoll body. I couldnt stand the giant wrists, but maybe with some sanding it can be made to fit better. [IMG]

16. Thank you for the pic, Pendragon! It's a good thing I've a Minifee, though now more a matter of resin match since I bought it back in 2008, and I heard FL changed the resin colour a bit? To something lighter for their NS? Here's to hoping the skintone is consistent and matches. Thanks again!

17. @LadyKnight: From my understanding current batches of Fairyland's resin is a little pinker than it used to be. Good luck finding a resin match!
Oh! I need to take a look at that new body, Septunie. Maybe its release will coincide with an event?

18. Saved up enough money to buy a Lia BUT I told myself I'd wait to order until July in hopes of an event. Until then... may I please request Lia spam?

19. Niiiice! Lia is an awesome sculpt! C: Back when I was getting mine, I had originally planned to nab an Airi or Ryuna, but Lia's smile won me over. :aheartbea She's gonna need a new faceup eventually though. Some doll glasses I had her wearing last year chipped some of the sealant off. D; Luckily her bangs cover it, but yeah... v.v;
Anyway, I got a pile of pictures of mine here: http://dollception.tumblr.com/tagged/dreaming-doll-lia

20. Your Nyssa is absolutely gorgeous, Singull! Thank you so much for sharing! (Your other minis are awesome, too --- I'm especially smitten with Csilla.) I'm sorry to hear about your Lia's face-up, but I totally empathize. My first doll (a DOC Petsha) had her default face-up ruined within two weeks of owning her. At the time I was heartbroken but now I can't picture her character with ruby lips. *cringes*
