Essential (favorite) accessories for your BJD

Thanks to Corsetkitten's Workshop, most of them want quilts. I have the top finished for one. I have a mage's staff started for my first, who's also getting the first quilt. I've also made a couple necklaces. Character defining accessories are important for me, maybe I'll manage to make or find some more.

 

I love my Yo-SD sized couch! I got it from Tjmax on clearance. It was a jewelry box that I ripped out the parts for and store my Pixiu's wings and tail in. Other than that I found a sword keychain that is the perfect size for one of my MSD boys.

 

Zines! Making msd sized zines is occasionally frustrating, but I can't imagine either of mine without something to read. Kit has the necklaces I made her and the headphones I got in a swap. Jono will need a guitar at some point. When I figure out Remy he'll need playing cards. But so many tiny zines.

 

Mine always need a good place to keep their clothes and stuff. They've gone from a cardboard box to proper luggage! Amiga has a bureau with drawers! They need their designated space to inhabit. Their shelf is THEIRS. They are not to be tossed around willy-nilly unless they're showing off in the living room.

I have been searching for doll rooms and furniture

I love jewelry, especially rings, but it's kind of hard to find things that I like as well as fit my dolls body/character.

I also have a love for doll couches. I've had dioramas for my dolls before, but my favorite parts of them were always the couches.

 

I can't seem to find any furniture I like for my dolls :/ any recommendations? [MENTION=2181]Senko[/MENTION]

 

[MENTION=69692]MadMisery[/MENTION] I found a lot of cute couches at antique stores. Other little items have been in other places like Michael's, and I'm not sure if Texas has them, but Didi's Discount and Biglots are nice places for fine little decor items.

Abbi has a stuffed koala and backpack full of random stuff that she takes /everywhere/. Artie has a little tea cup that he likes to take with him everywhere. Lillyth loves her black boots and red boots.

 

Yes, antique stores and thrift shops! I have found beds to even fit my 67cm guy. When I needed another and couldn't seem to have any luck shopping, I made a base of foamcore and attached it to a cute bench. The bench was otherwise too small, but it made a nice headboard. The foamcore supports a doll and is covered by the sheets and blankets.

 

Oh that's a good question! For one of my dolls she has a small teddy with a necklace with my birth stone that I've had since I was a kid. I made her a matching necklace and she carries the teddy with her I'm not sure what my other doll would have as an accessory. She would most likely have a bjd pet.

 

Definitely their weapons. My dolls all have their signature weapon (mostly stripped from keychains) that defines them.
As well as their 'inspiration' item. A single item usually a prop piece, that is a nice example of the overall style they encompass (Zanya's 'magic' lamp, Ere's seers ball, Isa's fae staff, etc)

 

Definitely jewelry but I find myself gathering miniature things for them. Also making little props that I make out of polymer clay as well.
I always keep an eye out through shops and places. It's a lot fun. Now if I only have proper wardrobe for them. I really don't like putting their stuff in boxes.

 

My dolls aren't supposed to have any personal items with them because they are secret agents, but they don't care anyway. )) Chame always has these strange orange boots with him and I'm sure once I order these awesome bracelets...those would be his and his brother's. Little Lily will always have a stuffed toy with her, while Peri will always have headphones with him.

 

Hair accessories, for sure. With the mountain of wigs my girls have I work tirelessly day and night to make them cute hair accessories. Whew.

 

I enjoy buying masks for my dolls. I really want to get some Venetian carnival masks in 1/3 or 1/4 size. But somehow it's hard to find.

 

I love miniatures, so my dollies have lots of doll props. I have oodles of doll furniture for them. My best friend is a silversmith, so I have some really amazing doll jewelry, my favorite piece is a perfect marquise cut sapphire set in gold with a super dainty chain. I love the little wineglasses that HighPriestesIce sells in the marketplace. I adore books, so I am always on the lookout for more miniature printed books. My new MSD, an Iplehouse Leona, has a copy of one of Tutankhamun's thrones that is just her size. I particularly love my collection of doll tea sets. The best find ever was a little green brocade couch probably intended for a small dog, that my cousin found for $1.50 at a second hand store. It folds out into a SD sized bed. I love that thing.

 

Okay hmmm x3 let me think... Waka has his dolls... he'd be half a doll without them. A couple of my dolls are in desperate need of their glasses because uhhh.. i still haven't found many i like. Calvaethor has his signature rose eyepatch, Hyorin has her rocking horse necklace, Nishio is always wearing his yellow beaded bracelet, Eal is never too far away from his basket with his little crocheted moss ball friend, Moosh and last, but not least, Finn has his awesome miniature skateboard!

 

Nadeko has a few stuffed animals (they're all very rarely used except for her bear which is her favorite and is with her at all times), a miniature Whole Foods bag and some mini pillows (the ones that come with fancy watches). She has a few other things like mini storage boxes and things that me and my friend have made for her like a little book.
I really want to get her one of those awesome in-scale BJD cats and some furniture and I want my future boy to have his own BJD.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that Nadeko also has a miniature Japanese story book that an awesome dealer gave her a convention last year. It's perfectly in scale and I wish I knew where I could get more of them!
