1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Essential (favorite) accessories for your BJD

Aug 8, 2014

    1. Jewelry! Also, bags. Need something to carry your stuff around in.

    2. Glasses! My dolls look so different with glasses on and off! It's amusing.

    3. One personal necklace for each doll, scarves, hats/caps/crowns or masks... I am so glad I found an MSD sized couch for them to sit on. And I love tiny accessories they can hold like cigarettes (however, they decided to stop), glasses, spoons and the like.

    4. I have a ton of props and accessories! I have zillions of hair bows from Claire's and Forever 21, tons of tiny stuffed animals for my YoSD, I have a tiny bench for her, and some chairs that used to old my childhood German doll (who I still have), a lot of tiny purses and tote bags and backpacks, jewelry I've made and some that I've received as gifts, little tiny 3 ring binders, a cell phone eraser that's a perfect tablet for my SDs, a little dresser, and my absolute favorite things are a set of itsy bitsy colored pencils my dad brought home from Japan when I was 10 (I'm 38 now) and a super tiny little pencil bag that they're in! I want a doll-sized Starbucks cup so bad!

    5. Hats! Almost all go my dolls wear a hat of some kind. I would love to find the perfect cowboy hat...Second would be finding the perfect pair of glasses or sunglasses that would suit a specific personality.

    6. Hats! Hats are a must have! I love them in real life and I love them in my girls. I would have tons of hats!

    7. My boy Is always wearing a bracelet I made for him, I'm planning on making them for all my other dolls to so it can be a theme. (:

    8. Where do you buy doll glasses? I'm looking for something that would fit a Iplehouse JID.

    9. You can look at Alice's Collections for some glasses. :) Eyeglasses : Alice's Collections

    10. I guess for mine would either be his shinai or bokken or his sake cup. I'm lucky that he doesn't need much in terms of props. I think what would be best and most essential would be konpeito but I can't find that as a prop anywhere! If anyone knows where to get that in 1:3 scale, I need it!

    11. The first thing I do w/a new doll (after making sure they have a wig, eyes, clothes & a pair of shoes) is to get a necklace for them. I make a lot of them but not all. As for props/accessories - OMG I have soooooo many! I love the upholstered cat beds as sofas - I've 2 of them. I have jewerlry box dressers, spice racks as dish cupboards, musical instruments (including a drum set & keyboard) for the band ;), fooz ball & pool tables, folding table & chairs, rosewood formal dining table w/chairs, rocking chairs, wicker chairs, a 1:3 size chimenea, a dune buggy, a Vespa, bookcases full of little books - at least 4 complete sets of dishes as well as 2 tea sets - I could go on and on. I love little things and I love setting up dioramas!

    12. I ordered a Barbie Vespa for my dolls, and it's my favorite prop. Except now I want a real Vespa for myself!

    13. You must have tinies. I'm sooo envious. I have to get 1:3 scale (SDs here, & the MDs are the kids) which is sooo hard to find compared to all the great stuff for 12" & 18" dolls out there!

    14. I am kind of a clothes horse! And I love furniture, which is why Ro is going to be my only "big" doll at 1/4 size. I found the cutest, perfect tiny wooden chair at the dollar store for Berwyn!

    15. At the moment Calli's one essential accessory is her 'topaz' necklace.
Though I'm sure she'll have me acquiring other accessories for her before long, lol.

    16. Socks. I'm getting crazy over beautiful socks for my MSD girl <3

    17. Essentials are wigs and, well, clothes. However, the wigs are what I spend the most time looking at. I feel as if though they the character to life, but that's just me.

    18. Chairs and a bag to put things in. (Like keys, wallet, money...)

    19. Hats/hoodies, bracelets and necklaces/scarfs/chokers. I think they complete a look quite nicely, otherwise I HAVE to get them a jacket or sweater so they don't look so plain LOL

    20. Surgical masks, currently. Mort's a doctor and his faceup is also damaged around his nose and lips, so I have an excuse to cover it up.

He also wears glasses, um, hypothetically, but his head is so big that glasses never fit him and they all look terrible, I would like that to not be a thing eventually. They tend to be a little spendy, I get them home and put them on him and they look awful. There needs to be an eyeglass try-on service for dolls like the ones that some vision websites have. I have so many pairs of little dinky specs.
