1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Ever Afraid X Sculpt Will Be Discontinued?

Apr 13, 2011

    1. I bought my first 1/3 head during Island Doll's summer sale because of this fear. Yun Xin/Yun Qing is an unpopular sculpt (zero owner pictures or text posts anywhere), by a relatively unpopular company, in uncertain times.

Island Doll apparently offers casting services under another name, so it might be making enough "side" profit to remain open. But, companies have (suddenly) closed in better global conditions too...

    2. I remember feeling exactly this way when Dollzone initially released their flower dolls, Moment and Anson. Even though they were listed as “basics” and not time sensitive or anything, I truly feared that if I missed out on Anson (see my avatar) I would just completely die from abject misery! I was so paranoid about it, I moved heaven and earth to bring that doll home, scrounging money from wherever I could and even selling another doll to help raise the funds. I kept checking DDE every hour just waiting for them to put up that “buy” button, and when they did, I pushed it so fast! I’ll never fully understand why I felt so desperate about Dollzone Anson, and thankfully I’ve never experienced a similar sense of dolly panic since. But shockingly less than 3 months later, even though she was not limited, Dollzone suddenly cancelled these dolls without warning (something about difficulty shipping and broken petals...this was prior to doll companies using fitted foam inserts.):sweat So my panic served me well. She’s still my very favorite doll to this day and the cornerstone of my collection.
