1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Ever been seriously disappointed by a company faceup?

Oct 19, 2020

    1. Wow! Those awful Doll Chateau company faceup experiences are truly scary…and really caused me pause. (They’re one of my favorite companies because I absolutely adore so many of their sculpts.) So I ran to check my profile here for my own list (I have 7 of them!) And I see that every single one was purchased blank because I had definitive plans for my own faceups…thank goodness!:sweat This being said, however, I have many dolls from many different companies during my long years of collecting, and while I’ve done most of their faceups myself, I have occasionally ordered them with company faceups as well to keep the collection varied and fresh. Fortunately, every company faceup I’ve received has been stellar (from the tiniest Fairyland Realpuki to my big Luts Senior65 Delf boys.) Perhaps I’ve just been super lucky.

    2. Thank you for those who posted pics here. So interesting to see what hits reality and what doesnt.

    3. I haven't ever had a company face-up.

    4. Boy have I had a few spectacularly disappointing company face-paints too.
The latest was the terrible brows on my Fairyland F65 Angela2. Before that
a truly awful one from Dollstown. But have also had a few unattractive
facepaints from Iplehouse over the years as well. Their new way of painting
dark over the nose (blush??!!) is really not my cup of tea.
Thank goodness there are some amazing painters who have made my
      disappointment disappear!!

    5. Honestly, the faceup itself wasn't bad. I got a SD Maria from Luts back in July of 2020, and it took me a few months to notice that she had a crack in her face, it was only noticeable in certain lights so I as like....ah... turns out when my friend was repainting her she had a gloss layer under the sealant? I don't know if that's their new normal or what? possibly a mistake or something new they were trying-- but in the long run she s got a much nicer face now :'o
