Ever come to love a mold you once hated?

Yes. ;-; originally, I did not like withdoll vanilla very much. Her sleeping face was the only reason. So I didn't get her, and now I'm sad about it. XD since then, I've realized how cute she is! Ugh.

 

Yes! I never liked Iplehouse BID Ringo. Way too pouty and restrictive for photos. Never thought I'd want one. But then I had a granddaughter who pulled that same face every time she didn't get things her own way, so when Iplehouse decided to discontinue the sculpt, I had to order one. Now I think Ringo is actually kind of cute.

 

I wouldn't say that I /hated/ the Vivian Island Doll mold, but the open mouth certainly turned me off at first. Then I kept coming back to her. It was something about her face--and her huge nose--that called to me. I really want to shell her as my Dr. Who roleplay character now. XD

 

I, too, have experienced coming to love a mold/sculpt that I once hated.
At first I never liked Volks Miu Amaha head sculpt. I thought her head was too round/pudgy and most owners pictures of her weren't that great, along with there being very few owner images of her as well.

But after awhile, I started looking at photos of her again including ones where the owner had kept her original face-up. I saw a blog with her in it and I slowly grew to like her. Even though, at the beginning, I really didn't know why anyone would even like her to begin with. And like I said, she really started to grow on me for some unknown reason and the pudgy-ness that I first hated, I started to think was adorable. I found out that the body she originally came on didn't suit her to my tastes and I think that's one of the reasons her sculpt turned me off before. Then one day, I saw her on Mandarake for sale and had to get her. Only her head was being sold though (luck was in my favor haha) because her previous owner had basically DESTROYED her original face-up and it looked like she had severe stains.

However, when I got her, she only had one little black stain and the other "stains" I couldn't even see (so I don't even 100% know if she really has any other stains to be had). Her face-up was still terrible when I got her though, hence why I removed it and sent her to a face-up artist.~ I quickly fell in love while I was removing her face-up. Kind of like we had bonded and it was a pleasant surprise. : D She was adorable and I was way happier than I thought I'd be. So, plus for me~ ^^

 

I used to really dislike Soom Dia...but after a while, the sculpt grew on me and now I own one and I love him to bits.

 

hmmm. I still tend to not desire dolls I don't like the look of. I used to think DC kids were too skinny. But now I'm trying to collect a large range of body types so it appeals to me because it's different. I rarely hate a sculpt, but I have a few I can't stand. Minifee mirwen is one. I saw a faceup the other day that totally fixed her for me, which made me very impressed and happy. But I still don't want one.

 

....Not quite hate, but I purchased Volks Remi and Pearl....and then lost interest and sold/traded them...

But now I miss them so much, I bought them again. =^=;; For a much higher price, too...aha....ha....oh...

 

I hated the Leeke World art body in general and now i find myself wanting one. I really want a Mikhaila in pure rose skin. She just looks so sad and other worldly and yet squishy because of her body shape. I do not know what happened to change that but it happened.

 

I know how you feel, I never liked the Doll Love Evol, but I was browsing on ebay a few months ago, I saw her and I totally loved her!!!! I never also paid much attention to Pukifees or Yosd's in general but my friend got me a Pukisha face plate as a surprise so now I'm hooked on Pukifees (and I'm getting her a body)

 

I don't know that hate is the right word, but when I first saw Souldoll Ryucine I thought, how weird... THEN I realized that, hey, he could really turn into a resin version of JaeJoong (Hero Jaejoong of JYJ & original TVXQ) & all of a sudden I HAVE to HAVE him!!!

 

I was always a Cerberus Project fan, way back when they made those gorgeous Delfs for Luts. I was also pretty against Volks too, because back then everyone in my local community seemed to be like "Oh if you don't have a Volks you're not one of us".

Now I'm finally straying away from FL and oh goodddd, I don't even know how I fell in love with a Lorina. ;_;

 

For me it was Volks, more specifically 4 sisters...when I started they were everywhere it felt like, and I just didn't get why people would want this ugly looking doll. The Volks default pictures had alien dark eyes (you could barely even see the white >_>) and fugly default face ups...
Now 8 years later, I've seen more and more custom 4 sisters pictures (after noticing how nice they could look modelling Leeke wigs XD) and it's like suddenly I got the point
I'm completely obsessed with getting one now...*sigh*

 

I used to obsess to Volks Okita 2nd ver. with default face up and wanted him so badly and liked the 3rd ver. with Dreaming eyes less. But I have finally gotten the 3rd one lately and when I carefully observed the mold, I totally fell in love. He looked much more gorgeous than I thought and now he could definitely replace the 2nd ver. which I have searched for many years.

 

I first saw Impldoll's Ziv on here being sold on a different body that didnt match so well... I thought he looked disgusting and couldnt imagine having that ugly face on a doll! Then I saw the Impldoll pics and looked up other owner pics with default face up and customs... and I want him so badly! he has such a pretty little innocent face! I think I just saw a bad picture to begin with xD

 

Not really a sculpt. A body more for me. I use to hate fairyland bodies but I finally got my fingers on one to play with an i couldn't put it down!! I now own a pretty WooSoo Minifee.

 

Yes HZ dolls. But I like the clothing.

 

This just happened to me! I hated resinsoul gang,I thought his nose was too big and his eyes were way too far apart. I happened to see someone's gang on flickr,and he was gorgeous! I just ordered him actually...I feel like a hypocrite lol

 

I can't really say I hated them but I totally didn't like kid dollmore girls first. My friends bought suntan Asha and suntan Momo, and though I liked their skin color, I didn't like their faces. They were too round and their cheeks were weird. But then I have watched them more, and their dolls have their own personalities and I have really come to like them. They look beautiful.

 

When I started this hobby, I was super weirded out by Dollshes and not impressed by resinsoul.

.... I just bought a dollshe husky and I'm planning to get an RS song someday.

Just goes to show, right?

 

I used to HATE all Doll Chateau dolls. Now... My wishlist has three more of them on it.
