1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Ever fall in love with some one's limited doll?

Oct 12, 2013

    1. That is so true... I think I've been lucky my first (the soul doll) IS suffering from almost zero exposure so there are still dolls left (new from the dealer who has the exclusive). What's more... technically it's not really that different than buying limited off the Soul Doll site... price wise that is. The Chiron... I just got lucky she more or less wants her money back (value I mean) so not really marking up... And for the lil one... she's the same ^^. Only NOT lucky is I am really bored not being able to do anything since I have no cash to spend lol. Thank god for no cost doll meets lol

    2. Yes that's what got me into BJDs in the first place LOL. Saw doll, loved doll, couldn't have doll. Went seeking doll I could have. Slow search through all companies on DoA's list. Eventually landed on Soom. Saw doll, loved doll more than first doll, still couldn't have doll :( it was a little heartbreaking. Especially since there are very few owner pics, I thought the chance of her showing up would be slim to none. Lucky for me I just got MP access and she went on sale the exact same day, for a very reasonable price.

    3. *pokes* Hi Erin! ^^ That's funny that you fell in 'more' love with another doll... but lucky in a way for you lol. If Soom is your poison... keep an eye out for locals running GO's ^^ And congrats on your forthcoming resin kid!

    4. Thanks :) I will definitely do that, this girl is going to need some clothes STAT, can't have her standing around all naked in front of the little ones. I'm getting very excited about being able to do local meets and GO's, seems like a great group!

    5. This just literally happened to me, I found somewhere on here about a doll the name seemed curious so I googled it.. BIG MISTAKEEEEEEE I fell instant drop dead in love with him, it sucks because he was limited, which is kind of distressing... you never know, it might stumble on you at some point, I got this evangline ghastly doll a while back that was sold out, and I kept checking around, and eventually she popped up and I had to have her.. the price for the doll was three times the asking amount, and to my dismay, the previous owner had broken her finger off and failed to tell me .. Very annoying, but I still have her, I just fixed her finger up, she'll be resting peacefully in her box from now on, to be adored from afar, but honestly, it's frustrating because you find something you really want, and it's limited, you don't have they money, they only sell for a certain period of time, or its over and its still on the website months later, which makes it a more obsessive compulsive thing where you stare at it and want it and freak out because you can't get it. *Phew* Breath, there! haha.. but yes, it does suck. Love is blind! :aheartbea

    6. Oh yes, my friends Dollfie dream, and his Minifee Juri head that he sold... the list just goes on
I love too many limited dolls!

    7. I've never had this kind of attachment to somebody's else's doll. I can understand admiring them, but I've never looked at someone's doll and wanted it for myself (then again I was the kind of kid that didn't like playing with other people's toys).

    8. Yep. When Migma first came out, I didn't like her pictures on Sooms site. Then my friend got her, and I saw her in person and I was like "NOOOO WHYYY" Then I snagged one recently off the marketplace ;)

    9. This definitely happened to me! I used to browse all the old Soom MD box opening threads, and that's what made me fall in love with the dolls that were released before I joined the hobby (almost all of the 2008 Soom LEs). I ended up picking up most of them through re-release events or the marketplace, though. I have a fairly small wishlist left, and most of them ended up on the list due to box opening or gallery threads.

    10. happened at the first and last Los Angeles Dolpa hosted by Volks back in 2007. I fell in love with Resiner. Came back and started to ask everyone who attended about Reisner (this was before I learned the buying/selling process of Volks). Then found him in pieces (aka head from one seller, body from another seller etc) for my first official LE Volks.....

    11. I did and she ended up selling her to me.

    12. Yes the doll I want more than anything is owned by a woman whose friend gave it to her when she was dying :(
The best I can do is try to have someone replicate it :(:3nodding:
