1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Ever met a BJD owner in real life?

Jun 17, 2014

    1. I think I saw one at a convention a couple of years ago when I took a break from the hobby, so I was too shy to talk to them. I think if I met a BJD owner now I would try talking to them because it's so rare!

    2. So funny! I met my first BJD friend when I sold my Pullip on kijiji. I lived in a tiny hick town at the time so finding someone who was also into dolls was like finding gold amount coal. She bought the doll and I mentioned how I was using the funds to buy my first BJD; well she already had one! I think it was a Dollmore? (I'm sorry H that I forgot you have so many pretty dolls now!) She hooked me up with another BJD owner in town and that's how we all became friends :whee:

    3. I work at a fabric store and I actually met a lady that sews clothes for art dolls. So we ended up talking about doll clothes and small prints for at least 10 to 20 minutes, I am probably overestimating the time, but it was so nice to be able to talk to someone about making them. Most people that are making doll clothes that I've talked two are making clothes for larger 18 in non ball jointed dolls.

    4. I met a BJD's owner in my past work. She was working two offices far from mine. We met at a BJD's meeting. After that we used to chat about BJD during our coffee breaks. It was quite funny! Now I see her from time to time but not very frequently.

    5. no! i’ve never met a bjd owner in real life.

    6. I have never meet a bjd owner in real life, but I plan to go dp!

    7. I know a few people that owns BJD's where I live. I met them through my close friends at an anime con and then I discovered they had dolls. But they're not my friends because we don't get along well and the fact that they have dolls doesn't change that. I'd like to have that kind of beautiful connection with a BJD owner someday. Sharing your hobby with a real friend should be a great experience!

    8. I don't know any BJD owners super nearby, but thanks to DOA I found a doll group that meets monthly about an hour and 45 minute drive from here. I go almost every month and some of us even went to Dollfest at Otakuthon last year and met more BJD people. I've never come across any doll people by chance, but a couple times when I brought a doll to various conventions I've come across people who knew what BJDs were.

    9. I really want to go to a meet up one day and meet other owners, I know no one where I live has anything like this and so I'd probably have to travel a long way just to meet others. It would be pretty epic though and I occassionally catch myself thinking about it often when I see others post their meet up pictures.
