1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Ever met a BJD owner in real life?

Jun 17, 2014

    1. I haven't met any BJD owner also, I'm planning to attend a meet up or dolly convention hope I could meet somebody nice :)

    2. I haven't met any BJD owners either. My town is large enough, I'm sure there's at least a few, but I'd never seen a BJD until I ordered and received my own.

    3. I have met many other BJD owners IRL at doll meetups, but I've never met someone without already knowing they are a BJD addict. I would think it'd be cool to find out someone I know is into or interested in BJDs.

    4. During cons seems to work best for me. Through them I found the fb group for our state. :D

    5. Yes. Zirconmermaid is the one who was running the BJD Panel I attended when I first learned about BJDs and she's the one who invite me here.
I have also met a few more from Dairyland BJD at a few meets.

    6. Met a girl at hobby lobby once who was looking into them. I also showed a bunch of my friends my doll and now three of them are getting their own. My twin sister is getting a resinsoul mei when I order my song very soon.

    7. Yes! both from here and they are awesome! I am glad I met new friends. Mostly because I am kinda out going and I saw they lived near me and messaged them lol. No matter what kind of person you are I think dolls can bring you together.

    8. I've met a couple of bjd owners at anime cons, which is always good but I don't know any local bjd collectors other than my best friend.

    9. Yes, I've met several!

My local meetup group and the people I've met at anime conventions have all been really cool. I initially thought they'd be super awkward or strange, but that definitely hasn't been the case. I can't think of a doll owner I've met IRL who I don't like.

    10. I haven't met anyone in person that collects bjds, as I haven't gone to a doll meet (yet), but my best friend is in the hobby, and has been for a while now! :3 While we live far away from one another, we talk a whole lot, more than any of my other friends who live close by! It's fun too, because we have lots in common outside of dolls and we also send each other birthday and Christmas gifts that are often doll-related! ^.^

    11. I live with one! xD;;

We also have a tiny local community that meets every so often though so that's quite fun as well and I've made a bunch of new friends that way!

    12. I had that kind of Luck this year that I visit the Leipziger Bookfair and they hosted a small BJD meet... And my Doll and I made three new friends there... Also got the chance to hold a 70cm BJD *____* he was soooo amazing!!!
I would love to meet a few more people ^_^

    13. No, but on the wall of my high school's hallway there are some photos on display, from the photography course. There are a couple bjd's in one photo, which means a student of our school is probably also into them. It's such cool considering that this is a small countryside school. I'll just never have the guts to find out who might that be

    14. Omg yes!!!! Mostly, at anime conventions or comic con hahaha! I just can't resist to go up to someone with a bjd and talk to them!!! It's like FINALLY someone who understands me and my dolls! I wish I could actually be close to another bjd owner though, it would make things less awkard for me because I love talking about my dolls but no one to talk about them with! haha

    15. Sort of! It turns out that one of my Lolita friends collects bjds. Unfortunately I did not find out until after she moved far far away. :atremblin

    16. That's... well, that was probably quite a surprise !

I met BJD owners, at a con and at meetings, and became friend with some. :)

    17. I know someone from work owns a BJD because she brought her doll once to the office, but hadn't really had any BJD discussions with her due to being in a different department. However, there's a local BJD group that organizes meet-ups every now and then (thank you, Facebook).

    18. I was lucky enough to have my best friend introduce me to the hobby. I was able to connect to two others on my campus who have BJDs. This past month I also went to a convention where I was able to meet other BJD owners and see first hand some of the BJDs that I would sell my soul for.

    19. Absolutely! At doll conventions, comic book conventions, meet ups far and wide, local dolls shops, doll shows. They are out there if you take the time to find them and meet with them.

    20. Unfortunately, I do not know anyone else who owns a BJD in real life. However, all of my friends are supportive of this hobby!
