1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Evil Baha!

May 18, 2013

    1. But it's so cute! Lol, looks like an interesting book, though.
I would have gone with one of the limited Cheshires honestly, but whatever works xD
I'm kinda interested in looking for this book now, lol.

    2. So, if they hadn't received permission from Pipos, would it have been illegal to use the image if they still had the photographer's permission? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought it was okay to use photographs of artwork without getting the artist's approval. Regardless, I do think contacting Pipos was the decent thing to do, and I admire Pipos for allowing them to use the image.

    3. That's a bit...odd. :?

    4. I had to get the book for myself :) I took some pictures with my Baha, she is shocked and upset that her face is depicting 'pure evil'!

    5. Cute photos!

Yeah, poor Baha is too cute to be scary or evil. But then, people who have doll phobias will find ALL dolls creepy and frightening...!

The copyright of the actual photo is owned by the photographer (who can sell the copyright to whomever they please). Pipos does not have any rights to the photo. But credits are often made out of courtesy. If Pipos trademarks Baha, then they would have some rights to all Baha images, unless excluded by the whole satire thing, although even then, if you mess with trademarks in certain ways a person could still be in trouble for defaming the company image. ... These issues are so convoluted sometimes. But anyway, we all are allowed to take photos of our dolls and post them, which is the same as publishing them. And some people have used doll photos that they have taken themselves in books and magazines.

    6. And some people have used doll photos that they have taken themselves in books and magazines.

This is true as I gave my publisher photos of two of my dolls that are the characters in a novella I wrote and their photos were used on the cover. They were photoshopped quite a bit so that they were not seen as doll photos, but that's where those faces on that cover came from. I own the dolls and I took the photos of them, so after some discussion with my publisher it was decided that I had the rights to use them as I saw fit.
