1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Experiences in buying clothes for your dolls

Mar 27, 2015

    1. I sew for my dolls and I was a seamstress in my career for 40 years, so I never planned to buy clothes for my dolls. But when I saw the beautifully made designs by Wimukt on Etsy, I could not resist. I bought one really special outfit. I don't even have it on a doll. I have it in a safe place as a collectible item.

    2. I get that way sometimes, it really does amaze me how expensive little things like socks can get but at least once a year I am willing to pay a good amount for a well-made outfit/set every now and then.

    3. Well, I usually sew for my dolls but if I find a perfect and interesting outfit from companies, I may buy it too. I also feel that BJD's clothes are very expensive comparing to human size clothes.

    4. I am a complete sucker for fashionable BJD clothing... I mean OHMYGOD how can those little shoes and stuff look so awesome?!
I admit that looking through clothing shops was one of the reasons I even chose to go the step and order a BJD in the first place - knowing there was so much great clothing for these dolls just blew my mind!

I find it kinda hard to shop though - at first I bought whatever looked good and was cheap, just to make sure my dolls would not be naked.
Of course those clothes do not compare after buying something high quality... and by now, my dolls own more expensive jeans and shoes than I do.
What irks me is that things go out of stock, and there's usually just 2 or 3 items from a certain store I want or need, so I'd end up ordering from several, adding shipping costs every single time...

When I only shop for a new pair of shoes every 5 years or so, I do feel a bit guilty getting shoes for my boys worth 50 bucks or so, same with any other expensive item.
So far I only bought casual clothes, but I adore school uniforms, waiter uniforms and fancy suits... so one day, I'll have to cave in and get at least one of those sets....
