    1. YAS TO FRECKLES AND BEAUTY MARKS!!!
for me personally however, i don't like it when the face is completely covered in them however. i like them to be on the cheeks and across the nose (it reminds me of characters like candy candy!^.^)
as for the body, i like them clustered on the shoulders and then slowly spread out and disspear as they go down the arms. (same for legs!) and maybe a bit on the back of the neck!^.^
but i like em to be soft freckles. like done with a pencil with a warm colour like brown for example and not a black.

as for beauty marks i love them either light or dark! i love ones especially near the mouth or under an eye or something!! so pretty!! <3

    3. I don't like them too much and they wouldn't fit my dolls characters. But I've seen a few heads with freckles which were very cute, so it always depends if it fits the doll :)

Billy's first body blushing-- very difficult to get freckles as small as I'd like with a technique that still allows for them to be random, so when he chips/rubs off enough to repaint him I hope to improve on it.

(I can't believe I forgot to add before that I adore beauty marks! I'm a sucker for the classic near-the-eye or corner-of-mouth, be it realistic or clearly drawn-on rococo style. I'm actually a huge fan of that look-- I remember reading that the shape and location that you painted your beauty marks on-- unless you were painting them to cover an actual blemish/sore, of course-- were often indicators of the wearer's political alignment and social circle, but sadly there was no guide included as to what those things meant...)

    5. I love love freckles on dolls but at the same time I wouldn't want all of my dolls to have them! I have 2 girls with full faces of freckles, then a handful with small smatterings of freckles across the nose and cheeks. Some you can see right away, others you need to look closer. I love them all though for different reasons!

    6. Yes, absolutely! I love realistic freckles. One of my Pukifees is covered in them. I would love to get a doll blushed to have freckles all over someday. I also love beauty marks - several of my Minifees have them.

    7. I love freckles on shoulders!!!! They look so precious and sunkissed. As long as it works with the dolls colouring (natural or fantasy) I love a good full body freckling as well, but the dainty ones are so lovely across noses too.
I think beauty marks are a lovely way to draw attention to a dolls otherwise perfect features too, but I'm more partial to scars (my dolls are set in a fantasy world and some have battle scars).

    8. I love freckles! As long as there's not too many, they usually look so charming and make the doll look more friendly in my opinion

    9. I love freckles irl, so of course I love them on dolls!

A lot of my OCs are freckled, so that means a lot of my future dolls will be freckled.
Right now, 3 of my 5 dolls are freckled / will get freckles when they arrive.
      :D

    10. Yes! I love freckles! I used to have quite a few myself, but they're left my face and traveled to my knees and elbows. I have one doll (Ancient Tales Rachel) with freckles on her body (like me), and one, Arial, with all-over freckles (like a friend of my sister).

    11. Subtle freckles can really up a dolls realism making the skin look so much more alive since (if well done) they add that skin texture. I would go for an extremely subtle look in most cases though, I'll try blue ones soon we'll see how that goes :sweat

    12. Gemma has freckles! Just so happened, I had given her head freckles and the body I got secondhand already had freckles that matched!

    14. I love freckles and several of my dolls have them. I often paint them myself over an existing faceup. My technique is to water down brown acrylic paint a lot and splatter it on by flicking the bristles of a large brush or toothbrush. Sometimes I'll add another layer with slightly less diluted paint to give them some depth. Here are a couple of examples of freckles I've done~

    15. ALL my dolls have freckles, more often than not they aren't super obvious, they're teeny little dots and blushes that make the skin look that little bit more real. Nothing seems to make a doll look more alive than teensy little "blemishes" and uneven skin tone, mottling and little dots.
It makes a plastic face look well... fleshy.

I have a couple of dolls with actual proper freckles too, I lick the end of a watercolour pencil and dot randomly and at different pressures so I end up with uneven dots and speckles.

I have been known to hide defects with a little beauty mark or two as well lol. I like to let a face tell me what it wants, and sometimes that means a dot here or there because of a bubble or a fleck or a scratch.
Sometimes it means scars. Whatever the case, I take my cues from the doll.

Now looking at my smallest doll, i think her freckles could be done a bit better but she's soooo small and sooo hard to paint omg.
Oisin has... dots... he has little speckles under the dots but the dots are dots, not freckles. He IS a stayr after all.

But yeah, i can't resist having well.. markings on the face as well as dots and speckles and freckles and splotches.

    18. I think freckles are adorable. BUT it depends on what end result you have in mind.
I also think that it adds a bit of realistic texture to the dolls. I'd like to see more skin texture on dolls.
      Personal preference.

    19. Ehh I could honestly take them or leave them :/ Sometimes they really look natural and add a lot of texture to a faceup or body blush and other times they just look like...dirt I guess. Really depends on the doll and the skill of the faceup artist. Beauty marks are always cute in my opinion though!
