1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 67

Oct 15, 2021

    1. I do too! I dislike the trend they have sometimes had to do the weird hook at the end of the eyebrow that looks so unnatural. It would be really nice to see a headshot without the wig so we could see the eyebrows.

    2. I do too, especially because Fairyland likes to do that trick where you push the hair up around the edges of the jaw to make everything look slimmer and tighter. The result is getting the doll in person and the eyebrows are messed up or in the case of Rames, his jaw is a lot wider than I expected. Dina felt different too. Every other company does this as a standard so I'm not sure why they don't.

    3. Yeah I agree. I also wish they posted close up shots of the heads without faceups on the order pages instead of tiny ones in the a la cart. I want to see the head without a faceup as clearly as with a faceup. It would be nice if they showed the blank head in multiple resin colors too.

    4. I agree! I have a Carol with default faceup, and there's a reason the wig she wears has bangs. FL likes to do concerned/cute eyebrows on their girls.

    5. They just added Lami to the Minifee a la carte section!

    6. Thank you! Ahh. I’ll be ordering him soon.

    7. Yes! That’s what I kept looking for!!!!

    8. DDE just added it to their website too!
I just ordered Lami and Rames. I didn't see many owner pictures of Rames but his jawline drew me for Lami's boyfriend.

    9. Actually, it looks like they are going to release a Feeple65 as well, but will probably wait until January. You can see it mentioned in Fairyland's livestreamed video, beginning around 4:20.

    10. ive seen some owner pics of Rames on instagram, it seems thats where the hobby has migrated mostly. also congrats on both ur new dolls! what skintone did u order them in?

    11. That’s where I saw the few that I did. I kept getting a framing company on one of the tags I searched.

      They’re both in NS.

    12. I just received my Sirin and I hate to say it but I'm super unhappy with her face up. I got one of those faceups where they really exaggerated the blue under the eyes as well as the blush itself. It's so strong, it looks like she was punched in the face on both sides. :|
Really frustrated and unhappy with her. I have to see if I can find a way to maybe remove some of that blue under the eyes at least. Magic eraser maybe? Have to do some research on that before I touch the faceup.

    13. My Rames fullset boy shipped from DDE yesterday and i can't wait to get him! I got the fullset unpainted, no sleeping head and no staff, and he's in tan! I am very excited to have a tan boy back in my collection

    14. I have had similar experience with two Fairyland facepaints @Amadiel
I did some research - apparently using the opposite color (on the color wheel) can “cover”
a color that you don’t like. I bought some pastels and carefully put orange pastel
over the blue areas - and presto - awful blue gone!! I was stunned that it worked.

I don’t know what one can do about too much blushing…. With the awful blue under the eyes
and the terrible hooked eyebrows Fairyland has been doing, I won’t be getting their facepaint again.

    15. I don't like FL faceups in general. Some of them are cute, but since most of their promo pics are their dolls in white resin, it's really hard to know what exactly you'll get if you order a different resin color. I'm also kinda sick of the sad eyebrow with the curly end thing.

    16. @Robyn_in_WA That's a good tip with the opposite colour pastels, I think I might try that. Thank you.

Edit: So, this is her. I'm trying to bond with her by trying different wigs, eyes and clothes on her. But I can't shake the feeling that I will end up selling her. Never had that with a doll before. Makes me a bit sad, I was so looking forward to her.

    17. oof yeah they really went heavy handed with that blue...id say maybe try getting a diff faceup before u consider selling her? sometimes a fresh face is all u need and a faceup can make all the difference. FL dolls are really beautiful and have a lot of potential but i really don't like their default faceups lately.

    18. @Urushi-kitty Yes, after sleeping a night over it, a new face-up is my plan now. I just saw that one of my favorite faceup artists is actually open for commissions now, so I applied for a face-up slot. Fingers crossed that I will get one!

    20. I'm glad Fairyland FINALLY gave the option to order a fullset doll without faceup. When I ordered the Eva fullset through DDE, I requested no faceup if possible, and they were able to do it but said there was no price difference, which I was OK with. They've been going quite heavy with the blue on some dolls, and it makes them look sickly.
