might be getting an erda head second hand....fingers crossed

 

Planning to get a Minifee Jiyu girl in a couple months! Can't wait I've always loved Minifees- Chloe was one of the dolls that I saw and instantly fell in love with years ago when first discovering BJDs. Can't wait for Jiyu to arrive!

 

Would anybody know how to search for a pair of hands that would fit an active line body from 12 years ago? I bought some recently and they do not fit (and besides that, I didn't realize how yellow my girl is now ). This has led me to maybe want to reshell her character completely, but none of the sculpts available quite have the same look/attitude that the Marcia sculpt has. She was never very popular to begin with so I don't think they would do a "lookback" with the sculpt. I'm so conflicted. Any thoughts?

 

@Nabbs I guess you best bet is to put up a WTB page. Although yellowing is something unpreventable, that's also a symbol that the doll had been through a lot with their owner. I personally don't dislike it. But if you really want to re-shell her, that's alright too. Marcia still show up from time to time in secondhand market, if not very often.

 

u could also boil the new hands for like a few seconds and put them on the doll while they're still warm...or u can sell/trade the old body for the new renewed version?

 

I thought about getting a new body (and getting high heel feet and everything new), but I think the resin mismatch would bother me too much.

I may just have to do that, thank you!

Follow up question, is there a big difference between the new Lookback Soo Dark Human sculpt and Soo Dark Elf sculpt? The chin on the human sculpt looks less pointy (and more appealing to me since it makes her look a little more realistic). I see there is one in stock at DenverDoll right now..... which is tempting. She has big eyes and small grumpy lips similar to Marcia, but maybe still looks a little too child-like. I've also been eyeballing a Sircca for a while as a more "grown up" version of what my current Marcia looks like.

 

If you want to go through the trouble, you could buy her a new body and then dye it with a bit of yellow to age it to her head.

That's what I would do if keeping her original head was the goal Unstringing and dyeing is a pain but can be a fun project!

I find that if the color is too strong you can submerge the peice in acetone to scrub the dye off and try again.

 

I think that might be out of my skill range lol. I've also warmed up to the idea of reshelling her character to reflect that she has grown up. I have been eyeballing Sircca or Sylvia recently. And it looks like DDE just now got a Sylvia in stock with a faceup. I was looking at a Dark Soo Human yesterday, and although she's gorgeous I think she is too child-like for what I'm looking for.

 

It's been a number of years since I last bought a new doll, but Lami has been tempting. I've been trying to hold out for the eventual owner pictures so I can see what she looks like on a straight angle, and also see what her nose looks like from the side cuz the fairyland photos are.. so unhelpfully beautiful.

 

Paid off my minifee alan layaway and managed to snag an erda second hand as well! I hope they both dont take too long to arrive i could use a pick me up....

 

Finally found a wig I like for Marche!

Oh, I saw a Woosoo event head right now. How beautiful she is! I want her so bad

 

Still-As-Yet-Unnamed-Ramses got an eye and a wig swap and tbh i think the dark hair suits him better. His lil worried face is kind of growing on me

 

@brightberry Yeah, I'm still trying to find the right wig for another of my boys, since I want something specifically in blue for him. Thanks, I really like this one on Marche, it's perfect for his character.

@Nasa Your Rames is lovely! I've seen quite a few with very heavy blushing, but yours looks much nicer!

 

@Magnus Vale the white hair suits your boy.

@Nasa I have my event Rames in a black wig, dark colors seem to suit the molds and full set I think. Your boy looks sweet.

My normal Rames still needs a name, but think he has settled on a dark pink wig, and mint eyes. The winking Rames has claimed the outfit, has brown eyes and black hair, I named him Jackal. Both my Rames boys need pix. (so do my Ingrid twins for that matter.)

In other new saw the new Woosoo head and that DDE will let you update orders of Lami to get it, so emailed about changing the extra Lami head A to a Woosoo.
In honor of the new Woosoo event head which has the cutest trouble maker face. I thought I would share my own trouble making Woosoo Devlin.

Your boy is absolutely fantastic! This makes me want to take photos of mine (I basically haven't besides basic arrival photos) but he's aged WS and I have no bodies that match so if I do he'll have to be sweatered up. Which I mean it is winter so at least it fits the mood

 

Can I request photos of Sircca vs. Syliva? I love a more grown up looking minifee. Bonus point if they have a Fairyland faceup that is recent. (I'm tempted by an in stock Sylvia at DDE but I'm a little worried about the differences of stock photos vs. how they actually look in real life.)
