Not sure if this is the wrong thread to post in, I’ve been trying to look through FAQs and other comparisons but I’m having trouble finding mini dolls shorter than MiniFee but not like ‘kid’ size. Just a little shorter haha any advice is appreciated

 

I feel like minifees, especially Moe body minifees, are on the short end on MSD size. Next size down would 1/6 mature tinies/35cm or YoSD (which tend to be sculpted like children). Not a lot of companies make mature tinies or they are special event/limited. MYou makes them for sure though.

 

You know I’m really leaning towards just getting another MiniFee but in moe line! It’s so silly but a bunch of people commented I should get an “artist” doll (bimong, Haru casting, etc) because MiniFee are overrated or something??? I’m easily influenced so I was questioning it I just love my MiniFee so much though! like why be so negative also they’re all artist dolls haha

I'm just another random voice, but personally I love my minifees! The magnets for fantasy parts and the extras hands & feet are so fun for me. And they're just pretty!

For me they are easy to order since I'm in the US. So through DDE. And maybe I'm lazy but I prefer dealers to buying direct from artists sometimes. Since order periods are hard to keep track of.

I guess you could say, Fairyland girls are "basic" or like the Barbie of bjds. But that doesn't bother me. I collect what I like (like most of us ) and if it's basic than so be it lol I call it growth cuz truth be told, I was a bit of hipster back in the day

 

@BridgetKeely did you try looking at 1/5 Scale Huajing doll? They are 34cm just a bit smaller than minifee.

I don't think minifee are overrated at all btw. To walk the path of bjd maker until now cerberus project (CPFairyland) had been through a lot!

It took time, skill, knowledge and effort to make a doll that can move like this. Their neck connector, magnet system, etc. are all the result of hard work. And one day when you have a good pattern, someone start to tell that you only change a head per season and your dolls are overrated ??

If you don't like the aesthetic of the doll it's fine. I have doll from many company too. But I will never said that any company's doll overrated easily.

 

Hahahaha that’s so funny to think of “doll hipsters” and really puts it into perspective! You’re so right I should just collect what I want and I totally love all the options! I also ordered from DDE since I’m in the us. Thanks for another view and the positivity

 

I haven’t heard of them, I will definitely look into them!! I do like the idea of having many dolls from different companies one day but you’re totally right that fairyland had to go through a lot of trial and error to make an amazing doll. I’ve been in and out of the hobby for almost ten years now and they’ve almost always been my dream company! I appreciate the input!!

 

Can anyone enter the Lami sales pages on Fairyland's website? I wanted to take a look at her pictures and all Lami sales pages are now password protected. Even when logged in I cannot see them.

I purchased an in-stock MNF Lookback Shiwoo from Denver Doll that came in yesterday! He's been one of my grail dolls forever and I can't believe that I got him so easily. He's my first MSD ever and, after owning an SD and a puki, he is the perfect size!



I'm on a hunt for new eyes for him because the irises on both his defaults AND the pair I'd actually bought to use for him are way too big. I've never seen a regular MNF Shiwoo in person and I know there are supposed to be some differences, but are the LB's eye openings are smaller or something? I'm looking at a pair of eyes that have a 5mm iris rather than a 8mm (I measured), so that will probably fix that problem.

 

LB shiwoo has a smaller head and smaller eyes than the OG minifee shiwoo yeah

 

I haven't stopped by in a bit. Everyone's dolls are looking awesome!

Did I see someone ask about a Maya with an artist faceup? I have one and I love her.

 

Yes, thank you so much!!! This is only the second photo I've seen of a Maya sculpt that didn't have the Fairyland faceup. She is so gorgeous and I'm honestly shocked that there aren't more Mayas!

 

Hi guys! My second-hand Tan Alan (girl) arrived today. She was part of a trade I did with another member here on DOA. I'm waiting on a bunch of stuff to arrive for her so she's lacking a lot of clothing. But I just wanted to show her off (her faceup and hand blushing was by her previous owner!)
