1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 68

Dec 18, 2019

    1. So, I got my Chloe vamp elf head and I got the headcap off after pushing on the little tab thingy inside her head from the neck hole but...am I missing something? Once I put her on a body and push her headback on....how will I...get it open again without access to her neck? My brain must be missing something...

Also I'm sure it will loosen over time but it hurts my finger to open and I'm kind of afraid for any faceup I put on her since I have to grasp her and struggle so much?

    2. My chloe vamp is shipped, i saw on the fl page « Chloe Elf Vampire Dreaming Heads have been updated with holes to insert magnets and inside engineering » so im curious to see

    3. I had something similar happen with my blank tan Chloe @Ctrowbridge77
I decided I couldn’t take the chance of not being able to her cap off - so I
very carefully sanded the attachment area - 600 grit sandpaper only a few
passes at a time - until I could get the cap off without a terrific struggle.
I hope you can make something work too!

    4. @Robyn_in_WA I'm just curious how they intended it to work but yeah it's probably just too tight at the moment.

    5. Begging you to email fairyland about this. Their headcaps are TOO TIGHT and significantly worse than the loose ones they used to have. I don't know how every company can get a cap right except them. They're super inaccessible to people with weaker hands, mobility issues and such. My strong gripped friend couldn't even get it off and on top of that it's impossible to not touch the face now. We shouldn't have to mod our dolls to make them work. I personally put a ribbon straight across the inside of the head so both ends are outside each side of the cap. That way I can pull it up when I need to get it off but it isn't a permanent solution.

    6. Is this the common issue only for Chloe vamp elf head? Or all the recent head also being too tight?

I'm now interesting in a fairy new head (Raven to be precise) I got a bit worry :shudder

    7. This is a common issue on every doll they've made with the new headcap system. I have had a bout 10 new dolls/heads from them come through with the new headacap and they've all been impossible to open, and I haven't heard many say otherwise.

    8. @Littlebirdzoom I will definitely email them my feedback because I agree with you! I'll use your ribbon trick for now, thanks!

I could sand it easily but it bugs me to mod stuff I'm not intending to mod...I don't really sell my dolls but what if one day she ends up with someone else who wants to dye her and she takes dye weirdly where it's been sanded, right? Sure it would be covered up but that's kinda not the point. So I very much agree.

Edit: Well maybe on second thought this is a silly notion since I suppose many companies do some post-casting sanding....anyway, still emailing them.

    9. @Littlebirdzoom I should wait for a while until Raven actually come out then, I also want to see more of her owner photo first.

Thank you for answer about the issue, now I know what I might face.

    10. Is here someone with an elf grey boy? I would love to See :)

    11. These new head caps are awful! I received a Therian head (purchased on the mp) and had to get my husband to remove it, same way you did. Ok on one hand they’re more secure but on the other they’re not ideal for dolls that are designed for the purpose of customising.

On the plus side I do love this sculpt so much, it’s fabulous! My head is buzzing with ideas for it.

    12. Now I'm scared, I have a Raven on the way and now I'm wondering how I'll get her headcap off without damagin her. It's interesting to hear that FL have gone in the opposite direction - my Silvia's headcap is so loose it keeps falling off :XD:

    13. The new headcap is not my favorite change either, but just to reassure anyone waiting on a new doll, I have it on my Layla and it hasn’t really stopped me from taking her head off. If you get your thumb wedged at the back in the right spot and pull up it will pop off… my biggest issue has just been nerves because I’m aware the resin in her head is so much thinner than the older dolls and you need to put significant pressure on it to get it open.

(I have the new Chloe and Raven coming so I’ll get to see first hand if they’re less cooperative.)

    14. oh i wasnt aware fairyland changed their headcaps but its been a while since ive gotten a new doll directly from them. I'll have to keep that in mind if i order from them

    15. I mean, I know I'm the one complaining in the thread right now, but there still is no good way to take it off without touching their faces/risking it. And not everyone can get their thumb in there. It never worked for any of my dolls and honestly it just shouldn't be this hard. And you're right, their resin is much thinner than it used to be and it makes me nervous. I watched my dolls head bend a little trying to get the cap off Q_Q

Hopefully they just change it a bit with the upcoming release with all the feedback. I'm sure if they just barely shrink the inside lip thing it'd be just fine. The entire system isn't my favorite but it'd work just fine with a little tweaking.

    17. I didn't even realize I had another head with the new back...I didn't notice because it comes apart fairly normally. So some of them are ok.

    18. Are we expecting a new MNF to be released on Friday?

    19. A New fairyline is coming. But week later as planned.

    20. Wow, at first glance I couldn't recognise this new doll as a new minifee, she looks so different from their usual style! Mainly because of the lips, they look more like the porcelain fashion dolls I sometimes see on Instagram. I'm curious to see how she will look blank. She also looks like she has smaller eyes, much like Phoeb.
