1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Fairyland Pukifee discussion part 28

Mar 24, 2020

    1. :dohOh! Thank you very much. I scrolled through so fast I didn’t even notice it was her.
I can’t decide if I want one or not! I miss having a tiny pocket sized girl

    2. I know there's two magnets in the back of the PukiFee, but does anyone know what polarity they are? I'm planning on commissioning some wings for mine, but I don't have her here with me yet to check. I know LittleFee's back/wing magnets are the same polarity (not sure if positive or negative) unlike the head/horn magnets. I'd like to be able to tell the artist which way the magnets would need to face.

    3. So the first bjd I ever bought was a FairyLand PukiFee Ante (WS) basic back in 2010. I took a long 10-year hiatus and just bought my second doll a few months ago. My PukiFee is in storage on the opposite side of the country, sadly. There aren't any moving companies willing to do such a long distance, so I've been stuck paying the bill for storage I cannot access from where I am.

Ever since rejoining the bjd hobby, I have been missing my PukiFee. I have a friend who lives less than two hours from my storage. I asked them if they could go in and find my PukiFee sometime (and showed them what the FairyLand box looks like, that I keep her in). Every now and then I brought it up over the last few months. I can tell they're getting annoyed, so I dropped it for the time being. They said to maybe bring it up again in January or February (I can't remember which month they said).

I made the same request of my friend back in early 2019. That means as of this January it's going to have been two years.

I know my friend will eventually try and give it a go to find the doll, but if I had to guess, it'll probably be at least three months before then, and that's if they find it. I really don't want to keep pestering them about it--I'm lucky to have a friend who has offered to help me at all. Plus with the pandemic and other RL issues, traveling is tough.

So my question is this: Should I hold out for my original PukiFee (which given that it's 10 years old, might be yellowed--hopefully consistently and not unevenly though) or should I just buy a new one?

    4. I'd say wait - but if you do decide to buy a new one - buy a different one so they can be friends or siblings when you get the original one back.

    5. That's not a bad idea. I could get a new different one, dress them up as a faun (and rename them Alessa) with all the parts I bought the original, and when I get the original, I could turn her into a winged faerie.

Hard part is finding a WS (to match the parts I bought) PukiFee with a default faceup that doesn't look like they're wearing dramatic eyeshadow or hard eyelid creases! This is why I love Ante's sculpt so much.

    6. Don't get the default faceup then. Get it blank and have someone do the faceup YOU.

    7. Is there a way you can contract someone to fill up a POD with your storage to move it cross country? Your profile says you live in the US and there are actually TONS of different couriers that will move you across the country. I know this because my husband (and for a stint I was as well) are in the military and just about every 3 years all of our items are packed up by moving companies the military hires and they are sent across the country. Some of them require you to be there, or someone to be there that you authorize, so that might be an issue but it should be possible for you to move your items across the country.

As for the doll, you could try looking on the secondhand market, but if you buy a duplicate brand new you're not going to be able to resell it for the price you paid. You could always make the dolls twins in the long run and customize their wigs/accessories/etc if you really, truly want that sculpt.

    8. All the moving companies local to that area told me they don't have anything going out that way, they tend to group different moves together. The distance is 2.7k miles. It's been a while, I could have another go at calling the moving companies. If they need someone there with the key, I could ask my friend, although scheduling those two things together would be very tricky.

My roommate sometimes talks about us flying out that way and him driving us cross-country, but pre-pandemic, we never had the time.

    9. I hope you can figure out a way to get your doll soon, if not, I’d definitely suggest getting a different sculpt so when you do eventually get your dolly back they won’t be the same.

my 2 Ena’s are due on Tuesday and I’m so freaking excited, I’ve also purchased myself a tan ante which I’ll get posted to me in January which will bring my dolls with bodies officially up to 8, my collection has grown too quickly

while I wait for my new arrivals, here’s my tan jude Thistle

    10. Thank you for the kind and helpful remarks! I talked to my friend, and they are going to try to find my doll this month. I've also decided to get another PukiFee doll, different than my pale Ante. I can test Ante's faun outfit/eyes/hair on the new doll and when Ante comes, I'll change the new doll into a fairy, and Ante can be the faun. Thank you again! I feel so much less angsty now.

ie. Can't go wrong with multiple PukiFees, whee!

    11. Oh that sounds adorable! I think that’s a great idea, just beware, pukifee’s are addictive, once you hit 2 you hit 20
I hope she can find your Pukifee easily for you

speaking of which, my 2 latest girls arrived today! So that’s 7 I have at home, 1 I’m paying for that I’ll get in January & then I also have a faceplate that needs a faceup and a body, which will make it 9 when that happens

They’re called Nettle & Sprout, though I haven’t decided which name goes to which. I am absolutely infatuated with them, they just look so serene and shy and ahh, I’m in love, best choice ever :love

    12. They are so cute! You are making resisting to buy Ena even harder :XD: I know how easy it is to collect these little fae babies. I'm trying to keep it down to 2 characters. But I've been snagging up some faceplates to act as alternate expressions.

    13. I know! A couple of days ago, I looked through the pictures and went immediately to DDE and put a tan Ena on Layaway. I haven't even gotten my Rin yet, but Ena is really adorable and well, they need to have friends, right?? Next on my list are Rosanna and Ante. I really love this cute little ones!

    14. What a sweet picture! Your kiddos are adorable.

You are completely correct on the "1 pkf, 2 pkf, BAM! 20 pkf!" theory. I wasn't going to have any, and then Cece showed up,

    15. I was so excited, I didn't want to wait for a pre-ordered PukiFee. I'm already waiting on a pre-ordered MiniFee and gah, waiting sucks. I found a PukiFee Vanilla for sale and ordered her. I'm going to test out the things I got for my PukiFee Ante with her, and then dress her (Vanilla) up as a fairy. I'm not going to bother naming her yet until her outfit is complete, and then hopefully it will come to me.

    16. Oh, you know she was saying that!! She is cute! I absolutely love that dress! Oh to be able to crochet like that!

    17. Thank you! That's a Kirika Dawn dress, she made the most amazing things. Sadly, she doesn't seem to be crocheting any more, I haven't seen anything from her since the early 20teens :( Her skills are very enviable.

    18. I was only going to get one, then three, then - well, stuff happened....
And is it actually legal for Aziraphale to be as cute as he is? Now if only I were good enough at sewing to make the outfit he wears on the show.
Actually, I'd love to make his outfit from the Bastille scene, but that's way beyond my limited sewing abilities. Not to mention the fact that one of my other PKFs would undoubtedly steal it.

    19. I haven't been giving my Rosanna enough love relative to my more recent arrivals, so I made her a new dress and printed some ears & horns to play with. :)

I didn't realize that she had magnets on her back too. I need to go figure out what I want to print to attach there!

Aisha has also transformed into a deer for the Christmas time.
