Two more points about the Pukis: One, they seem to be irresistable "in person" -- even non-doll people, like my DH, want to pick them up & pose them. I haven't noticed the same impulse with my other dolls in the same size range, either the BJDs or the similarly-sized vinyl or resin dolls. Of course if you don't want people touching your dolls, this might be a drawback... The other advantage to the Pukis, if you are as impulsive with money as me, is that Denver Doll Emporium offers layaways and sells Fairyland dolls. I find it much easier when I'm breaking the cost of a Puki over three or four months, and shipping is much cheaper from Denver than Korea. YMMV, of course!
They ARE like an addiction. Funny thing, twylight, I was at the local thrift store and for some unnameable reason the glasses cases caught my attention. Now I know why! Guess I'll be going back soon so I don't have to pack my puki around in her original case. Thanks for the idea.
I have 6 Puki's (one is a multihead on a Puki body though) and 1 Brownie. I play with my Puki's more but I do love my Brownie too, I didn't like the eyebrows on the old Brownies so I'm happy mine didn't come with that face up style. I got one of the new Brownies who is a Sugar Series GoGo and The Junky Spot sells them. To look at, I think the Puki's have more going for them, I can't actually comment much on posability as I haven't had a "pose off" yet *faceplant* but the legs on a brownie in the hip joint annoy me, it's harder to get her legs to sit/stand than my Puki's. I also prefer the face plate system on the Puki's to the magnetic head. I like the idea but I've already had my Brownie's head fall off a couple of times ;_; I liked the idea of the eye mechanism too but I do find her eyes don't stay where I put them XD and I won't dare try and take her hands off >.< I find dressing easy with the Puki's as you can take their hands and feet off easily. But honestly I love both of them and apart from those small things I've mentioned that annoy me, I can't see much difference in the posing. As for resin, again not much different although my Brownie does feel a lil rougher, it's not by much!
Are those Brownies , the comfort tiny , still for sale, Where can i find those dolls please? thank you
The comfort tiny is not the same as the regular brownie, it is smaller. I know there is a company selling them, bu im not sure if it is trustworthy, will get back to you onceive researched this.
