@Jonlyn Thank you! While I'm still waiting for my Fairyland order, a new-to-me RP girl arrived TODAY from ebay and she already has an admirer! Yay, Realpukis!
@nancy_schroeder_ca Roro is on the left. She has a Fairyland default faceup but I've seen other Roro faceups that are also really nice! Marie Patterson of WeeDollyWears on Facebook made her wig. Soso is on the right. I made all the clothes.
@Answer42 - I love your Roro. The clothes are great - did you get a pattern? I've been looking for patterns. (Although I have to admit I prefer crochet to knitting... Knitting does look better in this scale, but it's so fiddly for my old eyes!) And @Lemon Balm Sprite - did they all arrive at the same time? That's so lucky!! I'm still waiting for my second RP.
Yes, they all arrived in the same package. I made one order (Fairyland) as soon as they were available. No hesitation or postponing this time. I made that mistake many years ago. Now I have five different face sculpts of Realpuki. They are all so sweet and special in their own way. What I have to do now is to wait for the rest of Realpukis to be available again. Roro is on my wish list as well
The many looks of Soso. I have at least 6 Soso sculpts and no two look anything alike. Love finding just the right look & personality for each.
Oh my! What a wonderful bunch you have there! Very cute outfits too. Your Soso looks overjoyed to see her! You captured him at just the right angle, the picture made me smile. My heavens!! She so well styled, and where on earth did you find those shoes?? I can never get enough Soso, so when you have a moment to spare, how about a photo of all six together?? I'd be in Soso heaven.
@Xanadu Dolls …thanks so much…I will try to get them all together for a Soso group pic soon. Her slippers are even more beautiful than shows in this picture. My dear friend Todd made them for me. They’re butter soft leather with lace & opals!
@Fairy Milliner I developed all 3 Realpuki knitting patterns: dress, sweater and pants. My patterns are free on Ravelry and Ravelry is free to join. The dress was knit on U.S. #4/0 (1.25mm) needles, the other 2 on U.S. #5/0 (1mm) needles. I am older, too, but I use a hands-free magnifier, good lighting and a relaxed pace. Here's the RP dress and sweater in different colors: I made the headband out of a strip of 1/4 inch elastic, beads, tiny fake flowers and leaves. These adorable RPs are worth the effort!
You are so lucky to have such a talented friend, I think those shoes/slippers are simply divine. How sweet is she! Thank you so much for the info re knitting patterns. I'm a member, but haven't checked there for RP patterns. Put it down to the many senior moments I have.
@Fairy Milliner @Xanadu Dolls Search for "BJD" as well as "Realpuki". Ravelry has a character limit on titles, so I had to use "BJD" sometimes.
@Answer42 that's some talented knitting! I'm always tempted to try knitting and/or crochet for doll clothes but am afraid my brain may be at hobby capacity Soso seems like one of those faces that can show different personalities depending on the photo and I may need to add them to my tiny collection. I get to go pick up my tan Toki from the post office today!
@Aether Coffee Thank you and Congrats! I'm waiting on a tan Toki myself. Soso is also a great choice! Like @Jonlyn says, different faceups can make one faceplate sculpt look like very different BJDs. I hope you love your new Toki!
@Lemon Balm Sprite - congrats on your 3 arrivals! They are all adorable! I'm still waiting on my pre-order....one day it'll be ready for shipment! @Answer42 - your knitting is amazing! I'm going to hunt down your patterns on Ravelry. It's mighty kind of you to offer them for free. People would definitely be wiling to pay for them if you wanted. Your Roro is beautiful! And now I need one, lol! @Jonlyn - your Soso looks so angelic and pretty. Mine is ornery, hee hee. It's amazing how the same sculpt can look so different styled different ways! And I agree her shoes are incredible. Those feet are so tiny. That is some skill that went into making them! I spent a couple afternoons working on some clothes for my Soso, now named Turnip. I was planning on having an outfit set aside for when my others arrive, but at this point, they are just so very much Turnip! The first outfit I made him is his Halloween outfit. Then I made a second to perfect my pattern, and it turned out to be a clown outfit! I'll share his Halloween one first, and then his clown outfit in a post further on down in the discussion to avoid double posting. Realpuki Soso by PepperoniPizza 13BlackCats, on Flickr
