1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Fairyland Realpuki discussion - part 21

May 17, 2023

    1. No worries! More like keeping the realpuki thread alive
Get the smallest brush you can find! I use one I found at hobby lobby. It’s for painting miniatures. It’s called a spotter brush, size 20/0. I primarily use
watercolor pencils for line work, but I used acrylic paint for the teeth. Then a tiny bit of pink pencil to line his lips.
I don’t think acetone to remove the faceup with distort the gray color. I’ve never had an issue with it. Can’t speak for any other methods though.

    2. Thank you so much, I’ve never done a face up before and I know it’s a small area, but I’m just scared of messing him up lol. I’ve also heard you can use paint thinner to remove faceup paint but I think I’ll go with acetone since it easier to apply for me. Did you use any sealant for your faceup?

    3. Yeah I use Mr. Super Clear. :thumbup I say go for it! Faceups are so fun though take practice like anything else. And if you hate it you can always redo it.

I used to practice on Monster High dolls before my first bjd. Not exactly the same since it’s a different material but it’s good practice anyway. So can try repainting a Barbie, she has a small head too.

    4. Okay I’m going to try when my Obi gets here, although I like the eyes so I think I will keep the upper part of the faceup.:thumbup
Other than Kelly shoes, do we know any other type of shoes that fit Realpuki? Maybe petite Blythe shoes could fit as well, although OB11 size seems too big. I will have to experiment with a lot of options once my little one gets here:whee:

    5. can't wait to see what you come up with :)

    6. Sad to see this thread so quiet! Tried to post a pic from Flickr but I can’t figure out their new format…..anyone have any suggestions? TYIA

    7. Obi's growing on me. I wish I'd bought him when he came out - but at the time I didn't like him that much, and I mistakenly thought (hoped) that his release would mean they would be bringing back more RP.

I didn't notice any change in Flickr, so I can't help you there. :|
(I did notice that I'm running out of room on my account, and I don't want to buy more storage, so I guess I'll have to start removing pictures...)

Sorry, no pictures of my Soso, he insists that he wants to be dressed before he allows himself to be photographed. LOL!!

    8. At the lower right corner of the black area around a Flickr picture is a sort of bent arrow (if you hover over it, it says "Share photo"). Click it. Then select "BBCode". Then select the size of the picture. It is best to select "Medium" so that you don't get into trouble with oversized pictures. Copy the whole string that appears in the box. Then paste if into a DOA reply (don't select anything fancy from the icon list on the top of the reply box, just paste it as if it were regular text). You can use Preview to see that the picture looks all right,

    9. Thank you for suggestions spih & Fairy Milliner …unfortunately I’m still unable to get the needed BBCode like I used to. Now the only option I get is copy the URL which doesn’t work…..frustrating!

update…I just tried to get the BBCode from my personal page, not the Flickr site & I think my problem may be solved!

Wigs are by WeeDollyWears (Marie Patterson) on Facebook.
These wigs are the best I've found for RPs: they fit snuggly, look natural and don't have too much hair for these little guys.

    17. I love seeing everyone's photos. I'm a bad Dolly owner as I never take photos. I never seem to have suitable lighting or backdrop.
