I love his new eyes Kurogane.

 

Sadly no shipping notice yet. I asked a question on the board about it about 14 hours ago and still no response. Her wig got here today though, it just needs the bangs trimmed.

Edit: Looks like she shipped about 40 minutes ago. Hopefully she gets here soon, I'm really roping on friday but I doubt it. Either way she will eb here before the convention and she will be mostly complete when I get her.

So, I just got my dark tan Glen girl. To be clear, she's a 'project doll' -- I bought her to see how Fantasy Doll tan looked in person, because I'm going to be using their casting service, and also to see if I could fix any issues caused by their seam sanding. So, I'm not upset to see that she has some issues. But I did want to share my pics, so other people who may be considering tan can see what they're getting into.



Again, despite the boyish clothes, she's on a girl body, so that's the girl face-up. And she's a lovely milk-chocolate color... but you know how chocolate can get a little whitish, if it melts and re-solidifies? Yeah, she's got some areas that look just like that.

I'm going to get some Novus 2 plastic polish, and I'll post my results when I'm done. I know Twigling had used it to good effect on her tan Ingenues, so I'm hoping it'll work here too.

 

Logodae -I do like the chocolate/tan color and I'm very interested in your experiment with the plastic polish, that would be very helpful for any color of resin (for restoration).

I made the bunny out of pom poms with felt arms/legs/ears. I can make them in any color or size!

 

I hope it works out Logodae! I kinda want to get the cat girl in that color if it does and give her some black and grey markings.
Kairi shipped but EMS is of course being extremely slow updating as ia USPSnwith the twins eyes. I really want them to get here on Friday because that is qlthe day I have anime club and the only day I get to talk to the other doll person on campus.

snow: Thanks, & congrats on shipping! Just to warn you, my EMS didn't update for a solid five days. :P And I think your cat idea sounds neat -- you might consider light tan as an option for the base, too.

I've wiped my girl's rather excessive pink blushing, so she's looking better already. Contemplating trying some mehndi on her once she's got her proper color back.

 

As long as I get her by the 22 I should be fine. I'm doing an introduction to ball-jointed-dolls panel on the 24th and while I know she should be here by then I wouod like to have her for a day or two before then. Not to mention since I am running the library things will be a bit hectic that Friday and Saturday.

Also, Logodae, after looking at your blog out of curiosity, I have decided that I might wait for you to satrt accepting orders for your little one. She is just too cute

Hang in there snow072291! My glen came really fast -he went through customs in New York in one day and arrived in Washington State the next!

 

I hope she does, I trimmed the bangs on her wig the day that she shipped and seeing it on Liam makes me want her here even more. This will peobably get worse once her eyes are here. I wonder which colors I got as artistique requests that yu put a second choice down and I forget which one I had as my first pick moss green or turquoise. I know for Liam my first choice was dark green and my second choice was moss green.
Since her wig and eyes are out of the way I just need to finish up her clothes. Its insanely hot here for this time of the year so I made the little dress I was making her into a halter type one. As the bottom is lacey though I will need to make her matching shorts to protect her modesty. Guess I know what I will be doing tonight while doing laundry.

 

Aw, thanks guys, I'm glad you like her. Amusingly, my Glen is wearing pants that fit Kitti, despite having ten centimeters of height on her. But I'm guessing it isn't news to anyone on this thread that Ken pants fit Fantasy Doll tinies.

 

Thats good to know Loggodae, it means that it ahould be easier to kind her clothes.

The eyes are on campus right now, still no update on EMS so I can't really say where Kairi is except that sh is probably at least in th eccountry now as she left Chinantwondays ago. Maybe I will get two package slips today, lol, I doubt I will though.

Edit: Apparently she made it into the country yesterday at 7 am. Zo I should hopefully get her on Monday at the latest.

 

I'm a bit confused right now. Apparently Kairi was in Texas yesterday morning, wtf. I'm guessing maybe a flight oor something, but that is a bit out of the way from Ohio. Also, 10 mm eyes are just barely too small, I think they should work with white eye putty though.

Liam will have a new (blonde) Kemper wig soon and hopefully a proper faceup. I will update you guys if Kairi arrives today (she should I think). Her brown wig looksngreay with the turuoise eyes and Liam will be just as happy as me to see his sister because that means no more crossdressing.

 

That dark tan color is really pretty! It's prettier than in the company's own pics, somehow XD . But the white streaks are a shame )= . I wouldn't mind a few production flaws like that though (as long as it's not on the face), and would be much more concerned about the possibility of a doll turning green. I read Iplehouse horror stories sometime back and it's given me a paranoia about tan dolls. But I still really want tan dolls one day! Good luck with fixing her up =3 .

snow, haha, I remember something like that happening to me once XD . I was excited when my package said it was in New York, which is a stone's throw away from Maryland, but then it was shipped to, like, California or something and I was just like "FFFFFF;lasj;lafkjsdf WHYYYYY" to my father. He had some explanation for how it all worked but I don't remember it at all.

This is at least the third faceup I've tried on her already, and I'm still not happy with it. It's spring break here now so I'll probably wipe it again and try one more time before it's over. I also plan to go ahead and give her a body blushing when I unstring her to suede her joints! She's so pale (Pale Normal Skin) that I think a bit of color will do a lot to warm her up =D .

I've been going crazy with sewing for CC lately, and I managed to make her a pair of bloomers and part of a petticoat! I just need to sew the tulle onto the inside of the petti now. I started on a blouse, but I need some velcro and other things before finishing that. They're all first attempts, so I'm learning a lot and I may just remake them all later New and Improved XD . I also want to make her some simple stuff like T-shirts or skirts, so I'll have to raid my sister's leftover clothes!

I went ahead and ordered a pink and blue bobcut wig from Monique (the Pinky!), so they should be coming in the mail any day now. I'm crossing my fingers that they will make a beautiful combination!

CC is so cute almyki.

I think it was just a weird way of getting her here, lol, as it is the first place that updated after customs. It says that she was at a post office in Houston yesterday at 10:35 am, so I am a bit concerned. Only reason I can think of is that maybe they send all of the packages going to the east there to be sorted. I hope it doesn't take too long, I have had dolls come from Denver in one day so Houston shouldn't be too bad, I'll know at about 5 though. Of course the mail gets here to be sorted too close to when I have physics and linear algebra for me to be able to check it often. Well off to check my mail box again I guess, lol.

 

almyki -CC is looking great! I like the pale flesh color a lot. I'll keep that in mind for next time! The wig you have coming sounds beautiful, please post pics when you get it.

 

According to the post office she is still in Texas. Looks like I will get her Monday (or saturday) then. Ah well, it gives me more time to make her stuff.

almyki: CC is adorable! The pink and blue wig should look great with her eyes.

You definitely wouldn't get any sanding marks on the face, because it's easy to design a mold for the face that puts the seams along the edges where it meets the headcap.

I suspect 'greening' could be an issue, though... one of the things I'm planning on doing is putting my headcap out in the sun for a few weeks. The issue is that the UV radiation in sunlight causes pigment to break down, and red pigment tends to be especially vulnerable. And when you subtract the red from brown, you get green.

I'm hoping Fantasy Doll tan is relatively UV stable, but I figure there's only one way to find out for sure.

Nope, waiting for them to respond with the correct number. I hope she gets here soon and they didn't send her out with the wrond address. I'm going to try calling the post office soon as I have the sending information at least.

Edit: No luck on campus but I was able to get the number for the downtown post office. As I do not have the correct tracking number they are unable to check on it. I think I will pm the other person that ordered one at the same time as me and see if they have my tracking number.
