1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Fantasy Dolls: What's out there?

Oct 20, 2015

    1. What kind of fantasy dolls are out there? What are your favorite ones? What company are they from? I really love the way my collection is going with the fantasy feel. So I want to know what you have cause I wanna know what's out there :)

    2. I would like to have a tawny/brown tan Soom Phonolus. I think he's quite gorgeous. :love I do love fantasy dolls, especially Soom fantasy dolls but they're so costly. I might buy him secondhand (or if Soom re-releases him) in the future. I also like Loongsoul fantasy dolls (i.e. Farkas). There are so many beautiful dolls out there but so little money.

    3. There's tons of fantasy dolls out there; probably at least 50% or more of companies have elf and/or vampire sculpts available as regular or limited items, in addition to various elf/vampire fantasy heads. Then there's Soom's regular MD releases, FairyLand's new RealFee and FairyLine lines, and various sculpts from Impldoll and 5 Star Doll. Most of Aileen Doll's line is fantasy-themed, as well, and DollZone and Doll Chateau definitely have a lot of fantasy-themed sculpts, too.

In my own collection, discounting elves (which make up a large portion of it), I have two Aileen Doll dragons, an Aileen Doll Becky (rabbit), a DollPamm Arubi (deer), a DollZone Eudora (creature), a MNM/Soom hybrid (original cat sculpt head on a Grey/Ace body), FairyLand Puki Pukisha and LTF Pukisha (cat face), and incoming a FairyLand Sia (seahorse). Plus more elves/vampire elves than you can shake a stick at.

    4. I also have an Arubi and a Sia, as well as a special fantasy withdoll girl and a witch girl. As Much as I love elves and vampires I feel they're too common in this hobby! I want something that's really different. I love the Dollzone dolls like the pet ones! Thye're amazing!

    5. Yeah, lots of fantasy dolls and themes out there. I LOVE fantasy dolls, so I've been buying them since 2004, and there are even more and more all the time.

Soom is almost all fantasy, all the time, I think!

Do Anthro dolls count? I've got tons of those. And there are companies (Pipos, Dearmine, Luts Zuzu Delfs...) who specialize.

Aileen Dolls have pets and dragons (not quite On-Topic).

Souldoll has a beautiful centaur/unicorn girl up for pre-order right now.

I've been loving all the fangy vamps that have been released... Not sure if there's one currently being sold.

Oh... someone's selling those cyclops dolls.

There's just lots and lots out there. On the Marketplace and pre-orders from companies. Too many to mention really!

    6. The cyclops dolls are also Aileen Doll (as are their "polymorph" anthro cats and dragons, and the recent anthro bunny).

I forgot it on the first go-around, but Luts has had some lovely limited fantasy sculpts lately, too, including a kelpie, a wolf, a phoenix (I think), and several centaurs.

    7. I really want a Centaur, but I'm so worried that Fairyland might come out with a gorgeous one like Sia, So I am holding out.

    8. I think there quite a bit out there from fairies, vampires, nagas, demons, mermaids, witches and so on.

I love DZ and DC fantasy dolls, I already have a fairy from DC that is off topic here. And I'm waiting one of DZ new mermaids that are gorgeous, a head from Miracledoll that is an oni but I will use for a muse, 5SD demon Aiden and a tiny elf from Luts. My other dolls are not a fantasy sculpt but they are all supernatural creatures :)

Beside that I like other DZ fantasy dolls, the basic DC small dolls with body similar to their imps, bambicrony fairies, Peakswoods vampires, Aillen cyclops, withdoll mini dolls on sale now, Luts mini centaur, Souldoll centaur is gorgerous as well! I have loved Chiron for a long time and their new girl is just as pretty, they also have a cute vampire Clodia that I like. Flower&Junior Mizi and Yabi heads and of course IOS Taurus. I love Taurus XD I probably forgot some but there a lot of cool sculpts around

    9. Nagas?? Where?? :P I've seen all the other things you listed all over, but I don't think I've ever seen a naga, for real I would snatch that up in a heartbeat :)

I love fantasy also, and elf ears don't really cut it; I'm always looking for unusual things. That's why I tend to go for French artist dolls. They are harder to get (only available during pre-order, and released in small batches so finding second-hand dolls for sale is unusual too), but if you get on some mailing lists you can easily snag them as they come out. One of my favorite sculptors is Misterminou who does all high fantasy and very unique dolls; she tends to like dragons, and horns, and horns that look like dragons. I also love Mewie Fish - she does cute amphibious looking creatures. Some other fantasy-focused artists are Batchix, Otherside dolls, and Will o' Wisp dolls.

    10. Sugarble nas a really cute Naga, available as either a full doll or as a "just tail" option that can have a torso and head added to it from the menu. Here's a link to the dark violet one, which I was considering for a "chibi" version of one of my characters before FairyLand released their Sia sculpt (which fit better for size and style, if not gender). I've gotten to see and handle one of the Sugarble nagas in person, too, and it's nice enough in person that I might still do that "chibi version," as an excuse to get one.

    11. Doll Chateau do some pretty weird dolls - like my amos - And I did have a luts centaur a while ago too, pics on my flickr, along with the dollzone kitty and dragons I used to have ^_^

    12. I have a few fantasy dolls, including a Fairyland Pukisha- human with a cat face, Fairyland's impish Real Puki with fangs, a Dollzone Wendy with a sort of sea creature head with a human face and body, and a Soom fairy. I love the variety of elf eared dolls out there. My Dika Doll Tea has elf ears the that point downward instead of up. Soom definitely has the widest variety of fantasy dolls of any company I've seen.

    13. :O Wow, cool! That marbled black resin is awesome! I had not heard of this place, thanks! I may be getting one too....

    14. I absolutely love fantasy dolls! There are many different options on the market, and many of the companies have already been listed, but my personal favorite is Soom. They have a wide variety of fantasy dolls in different sizes, colors, and themes. I find their aesthetic to be really beautiful, and their faceups and outfits look great on the dolls. I wish they posed a bit better, but their new bodies have been a bit of an improvement imo.

    15. I'm just about to start BJD collecting so I may feel different later, but it seems that so far, fantasy dolls are the only kind I want! They're just so much fun because they can be anything you want (or, anything you can buy/create lol). Maybe that's why I'm a little obsessed with Resinsoul... I didn't want an expensive doll for my first, so I looked at the cheaper options first and so far, there's like 5 different RS dolls that are on my list. lol

    16. That's what I started this thread! I wanted to do an all fantasy collection. so I really wanna know what is out there.

    17. I wish I'd seen this thread before I made the one about fantasy minis.
I really want my first BJD to be fantasy themed but it's hard to find bodies sold separately. Impldoll do sell the deertaur body, but I feel like I'd like a bit more to choose from. I'm really not sure if I should just get it or wait until I have market access on the off chance people are selling other fantasy bodies.

    18. not found yet but I would like to have a tiny faun
I know that some companies made already some but nothing for me yet

    19. The only faun smaller than MSD that I'm immediately aware of is Fairyland's Pano, which I have and I adore him, he's a mischievous little sprite.

    20. Mermaids are my favourite. It's unfortunate I came into the hobby so much too late for Soom Cass (Abyss rhapsody version's body is my guilty pleasure!) those and anythin with wings. I have a series in which literally all of the characters have them (angel wings, leathery dragon wings, bone wings à la Doll Chateau, mechanical wings, butterfly wings, and then the mer girl who is the only non-winged character...)
