1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Favorite Doll Company and Why

May 5, 2012

    1. This is a tough question... I think I'm going to say Fairyland, though, at least as one of them. I have three of their dolls, with a fourth (more or less) on its way, and every one of them is amazingly poseable and intricate without actually feeling fragile--I don't feel like I shouldn't be handling them like I have with some, I feel more like they can take it. The sculpting of every part of them is wonderful, too, and even though I've never directly ordered from them (two are second-hand, one was from a group order, and one was from two different splits), their customer service toward me when I had a problem with one of the dolls was amazing. They're really doing something right!

After them... oh gosh, anyone who does the weird, wild, crazy sculpts! Even the ones that are a little creepy to me, I still love that they exist and that someone would go out and make something that deviates so far from the standard "pretty boy/busty girl/adorable child" templates. I've been looking through different companies' databases lately to find all the weird, wild stuff I've missed along the way, and there's so much that's absolutely amazing (and a few that are tempting, of course!).

    2. For service Blue Blood Doll -- my boy came within a week of ordering, his faceup was incredible with my preferences met. In additin the clothes are well made, have free shipping within the US, and again, come so quickly. Communication is awesome, and the resin is gorgeous.
But for my girl sculpts, I am utterly smitten with Elfdoll -- 6 of my 11 BJD's are by Rainman.

    3. I love Resinsoul/Bobobie. My Fawn is an absolute treasure. No seams or lines, smooth resin, and her fur tufts are so cute. I cannot wait to order more from them.

I lust after doll chateau. Their dolls are so sirque du soleil ! I cant help but want one or two... or three. lol

    4. I've only dealt with 2 companies, they both were fantastic. Bobobie was very quick with response (as with DollZone too), they were very kind to deal with! And the freebies I got from both of them too! Who can go wrong with extra clothes and free body blushing? :)

    5. I have to say Ringdoll & Iplehouse because of their gorgeous sculpts & resin. I also like the look of some of the soom dolls but they seem to be very limited in availability.

    6. I LOVE Luts! They never let me down and I just find all their dolls just so darn cute! It's just my style. I check their site frequently. :) ALso, they're always trying something new. Never a dull update.

    7. If it's not obvious, Dear Mine is my favorite company. I have owned dolls from Luts, Fairyland, ResinSoul and Dollzone, but none of them were good enough, in my opinion, to bond with me well enough to stay. Of course, it's all a matter of opinion, and the fact is that I adore anthros - but, Dear Mine also produces my favorite face ups, and their company was brave enough to make an entire collection of dolls that started as only anthro, something I don't think any company before them had done. So, their unique style, gorgeous aesthetics and flawless quality is what backs my decision here. <3

    8. Soom fore there older MDs
      Volks fore quality
      and Fairyland fore good ideas

    9. Volks for me~ I enjoy their aesthetic and the lottery system... it's a very exciting way to acquire a doll. I also love looking at Dolpa pictures and hope one day to attend one.

Close second: Luts, they were the first company I purchased from and many of my favorite dolls come from them~

    10. Volks is my all time favorite, but Luts is pretty great too for their wonderful range of standard models that come in three skin tones now. Most of their dolls are standards and there are SO MANY of them-- I don't ever have to worry about a sculpt no longer being available! Luts is the only company I actually have experience with ordering a doll with too, and that was great. They're also pretty affordable compared to other companies. So they're up there for me.

Volks, though, wow. They just have wonderful quality, beautiful face ups, gorgeous sculpts, and fantastic outfit coordination and quality. All of my grail dolls are from them. I'm most likely never going to be able to order a doll from them first hand unless it's FCS (probably studying in Japan later on in college, woo!). Too expensive. :( But that doesn't mean I'm never getting one, I'd rather save up a ton of money for a doll I am going to absolutely love than buy another just because they're cheaper.

    11. I'm quite new to the hobby, but so far, the companies that have called my attention the most are Dikadoll, Fairyland, Peak's Woods and Soom. My first doll is by Dikadoll and she's just wonderful, I love her soft expression and the delicacy of the resin. I haven't gotten my Pukifee yet, but I'm anxiously waiting for her! Fairyland and Peak's Woods have the biggest number of dolls that I like. Peak's Woods just has a marvelous catalog, I could surely order more than one doll from them and I even like their bigger dolls (and I'm not generally into the 1/3 dolls or bigger). Soom is my most recent discovery and their dolls are quite breathtaking.

    12. I'm going to say Fairyland because there are just so many of their sculpts that I adore - more so than any other company.

    13. I prefer Fairyland because their dolls are gorgeous and they have super posing abilities!! There isn't much that's better than awesome posing in my opinion. If a doll doesn't pose well - I'm peeved about it. They have so many sculpts and the aesthetics are beautiful.

I also like B&G dolls. Though they are much less expensive (made in China not Korea) they have great posing too. I'm not familiar with their large (SD) size but the smaller ones are great.

    14. I also like Fairyland the best to due the posing and the body line design and interchangeable face-plates! I will say however that I wish that Fairyland offered dolls in the many different resin colors as Iplehouse.

    15. Asleep Eidolon! EVERY SINGLE ONE of their 1/3 dolls are GORGEOUS!! Especially Snow, Dolly, Rebecca, Mignon, and Green Grape. They're very realistic looking...I showed a picture of Snow (I'm saving up for her) to, like, everybody in my family, and 90% of them though she was a person XD

    16. I have yet to deal with any company directly, so I can't say anything about company service. However, when it comes to the dolls themselves, my top three favs are Luts, Bluefairy, and Fairyland. I just like the faces and posabilities of the dolls I've seen (and owned! I have a PukiPuki now). About Bluefairy, especially... I just love how simple the faces are for their Tinyfairies, including the simplicity of the default faceups.

    17. I love many companies but my top are ( in no particular order)

Soom for their older monthly dolls and sculpts.

Volks for their quality and sculpts

Cp/ Luts for their great line of delfs ( when I started back in 2007) my first doll was from them and I still have him. :)

Unoa, because I love their faceplates!

Msdoll, Kdoll and notdoll for their beautiful and sometimes unusual heads.

FDoll, Resinsoul for excellent bodies and quality for price.

Fairyland for their beautiful sculpts and fullest clothing.

The list goes on and on. So I can't really claim to have one favorite. XD

    18. I have only ever ordered from Fairyland. But I have browsed and searched through other companies like Volks, Luts etc.
But Fairyland's sculpts (especially their MiniFees) appealed to me the most. I don't know why, but I just love their work!!

    19. My favorite company is little Monica because its dolls are beautiful, and same with they're accessories, actually I love everything about the company's products

    20. My favorite company has been Dollshe ever since I first laid eyes on Hound, especially once I saw faceups that weren't the factory default. Dollshe hands and feet are some of the most elegant and beautiful that I've ever seen. (Wait, is it strange that I think their feet are beautiful? :p) Of course, Pipos stole a little piece of my heart when Baha was introduced.
