Favorite Doll Company and Why

I think DoD and Iplehouse are my favorites in terms of consistency in aesthetics, though I don't own dolls from either company. I also really like Luts, and I do have a doll on order from them.

My other 2 dolls I got in stock from MoC, so I didn't deal directly with their respective companies, but both of them also have nice sculpts.

 

I like Only-doll the most, for the price of the dolls and everything, they're a great deal. Plus the dolls themselves are good too! i would love to some day have a big collection of their dolls

 

I like Elfdoll's head sculpts the best. They look very human and realistic to me, albeit an idealized version of human realism! I think they're incredibly beautiful and have yet to see another doll company that has such a large number of heads I'd love to own.

 

Supidoll and Dollmore

I love Doll Chateau their dolls are so unique and each one of them have extremely intriguing sculpts also their fullsets with the outfits are amazing!
I also really like Island Doll because they make their sculpts really natural and the bodies too.

 

I would like to say that there are reasons for some companies being a favorite & for others not being a favorite. If a company has great sculpts but long long wait times that may be a kill deal for some people. If a company makes it hard to acquire a doll however beautiful - another possible kill deal (or not). Same w/expense.
I personally want to know the kill deal reasons for not making a company one's favorite as well as the positive reasons. Because I use threads like this to figure out which companies might be the best for me (from companies I haven't used before).
Ergo insisting that no 'negative comments' should be included makes the whole discussion rather useless from a practical point of view.
Real critiques include the bad w/the good.

 

I think I'm an Iplehouse junkie. All my dolls seem to be coming from there. I think it's because I really love how realistic their sculpts are. I also love the color and feel of their resin. It's a dream of mine to own at least one of each color of Resin and maybe one of each size. I also adore that their men are reeeeeeally manly. Most BJD men seem to be skinny and elegant. I like a muscular man and Iple gives me that in spades.

I'm the type of person who usually likes variety, so most of the time I don't have a "favorite" company. I once said I didn't want to buy more than one doll from any one particular company. There's just so many great sculpts and companies out there, I wanted to experience as many as possible.

However, I'm finding that I seem to be drawn to Iplehouse's sculpts. I own one already, and have 3 more on my wish list. So yeah, I guess you could say that Iplehouse is my favorite?

Personally, I've had great experiences with all the companies I've dealt with. I've bought from Luts, Dollshe, Iplehouse, Dikadoll, Volks, Gomidoll, Dollmore, Leeke, and others I'm probably forgetting right now. The BJD world is really lucky to have so many really stellar companies to deal with.

We're also lucky to have a very involved community that draws together and sounds the alarm when things seem fishy or a company does dip into shady practices. The biggest problem I see is the long wait times. Yes, these are handmade products. But the more leeway we give companies to drag around, the more trouble it becomes if problems do hit. Paypal has a 45 day dispute window. Because we're so used to long wait times, we often let that window slip by and if a problem does arise we have lost that avenue of fixing the problem.

If a company can't reasonably do a 6-8 week turnaround, maybe they should look into expanding their production facilities and/or staff or restrict the inflow a little by doing ordering periods or ordering slots. 5 or 6 months is stretching things past what should be reasonable.

 

BLUEFAIRY! Not just for the dolls, but for their customer service and the face that almost all their sculpts are available to buy any time, not just as limiteds! I LIKE the fact you can't choose skin, that makes it more special when you get a white skin (or any other skin!) I love them so much, I want almost ALL their dolls, and their Limiteds are so hard to resist! I haven't been able to resist so far!!

 

My favorite company, hands down, is Dream of Doll. This was the first company I stumbled upon. They were the first company I bought from and they remain my all time favorite. Love the sculpts and the bodies and the service has always been great. I've bought from many companies and I always find myself coming back to DOD. Their 60 and 70cm dolls are my favorite.

I also love Luts for their Zuzus. I see many more of those in my future.

Migidoll is my favourite company. I really love the aesthetic of the sculpts, and since getting my first doll head from them I'd kinda sorta made it my mission to get all of them (except for variants like dreamy-eyed or pointy-eared versions, mostly because I decided for my wallet's sake collect only one version of the same head (unless it's a discontinued head, then by all means I don't mind having both versions of the sculpt *lol*)).

I've had a pretty good experience with the company, and will definitely continue to support them and make room for their future dolls in my collection. And now that they're releasing their MSD line, I might actually consider collecting sizes other than SD/70cm's.

 

I have only bought dolls from Iplehouse and Souldoll. Between the two companies I liked my experience with Iplehouse best. I also love the aesthetics of their dolls and they were very pleasant to talk to.

 

I love Fairyland, but only because I am bias. I think Pukifee's are the best dolls I have seen so far. I also love the Minifee bodies.

 

Even though i do not own a doll from these companies I would have to say it is either DoD or Migidoll. I just love how beautiful the sculpts look and it makes me want one of every doll they have.

 

I have to say, I think Resinsoul is my favorite just because of the affordability! I really like Island Doll, Fairyland, and Luts as far as sculpt alone.

 

I really love my Daphne by Doll Chateau and I'm considering another doll purchase from them, as their interesting style and look intrigues me and inspires me to create some mysterious characters.

 

I really love the bodies of Supia and Doll Chateau. Supia carry really realistic and detailed bodies and the ones of Doll Chateau are so stylish, makes you want to experiment other things with them.

 

SoulDoll if I have to pick one. Their sculpts are amazing and they have so many different types. I love their fantasy dolls and zeniths are amazing to handle. I just love them. Also their costumer service is very good, atleast what I've dealth with.
But I love Doll Chateau, Little Monica and FairyLand too.
