1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Favorite Doll Company and Why

May 5, 2012

    1. I'm almost certain I've already posted here, but I doubt it was a thoughtful answer. I'd really like to list my favorite companies, and why they are on my list.

(These are in NO specific order.)

      1. Dollpamm: I can honestly say that Dollpamm might be my favorite company. Dr. Mes didn't even have an international shop, but when word got around that there was a lot of interest in their dolls from International customers, they actually opened up an international shop. That's incredibly, and I am beyond grateful for it. Because they did that, I could then purchase their beautiful dolls. Dr. Mes has amazing sculpting abilites. The Dollpamm Loli bodies have the best look, to me. So stylized and adorable. And at the perfect size. Their face sculpts are so unique and gorgeous. S/he obviously works really hard and has a lot of love for the dolls they create. I love both of my Dollpamm girls so much more than I ever imagined I would. They package the dolls extremely well, in really nice boxes. They give you extras (Including extra string!) They also recently released some clothes, two sets of which I bought, and they are amazing quality, as I thought they'd be. They also fit the dolls super well. They are a pretty new company right now, but they are really proving themselves in the BJD world. I feel fortunate that I am able to help support Dr. Mes, even a little, and I will continue to do so.

      2. Fairyland: I love Fairyland dolls, plain and simple. They are the best posing dolls I've ever owned, and look so natural while doing it. They make the prettiest joints I've seen on a doll. They are also (almost) always perfectly strung. A lot of their face molds appeal to me, and I love their different lines. Their faceups are also beautiful, and they offer sleeping faceplates. They also give you free shipping if you hit $850, which is awesome. And they let you combine shipping very easily. They package their dolls very well, and I've never had anything arrive damaged.

      3. Sugarble: Sugarble is also a relatively new company. I am not afraid to admit that I am not a big fan of their tiny dolls bodies, however, that obviously hasn't deterred me from buying their dolls. The faceups that they paint are some of the most beautiful faceups I've ever seen. You can just tell how much skill goes into them. Same thing with the body blushing (and fantasy parts blushing.) They are on par with Soom in that area. They get their dolls to you in a great amount of time. Also, when they had an accident at their factory, they let us know, and still got me my doll in a good amount of time. They are wonderful in the customer service area as well. I now have two Sugarble wigs, and I adore both of them. Fantastic quality wigs. And their clothes are extremely good quality. I only have 1 outfit from them (The outfit that came with my Little Kitty Eileen) and it amazes me how great of quality it is. It is also a perfect fit for the doll. I love how unique Sugarble dolls are, and I always enjoy seeing what new things they have created. Their fantasy parts are adorable, and I have quite a few of them. Their dolls are packed in the most gorgeous wooden boxes I've ever seen. I mean...the boxes are wooden, with a nice leather cloth and WAX SEAL! That is awesome, and it makes the whole box opening feel so special. Just like Dollpamm, I am very happy to be able to support Sugarble in their endeavors, and I can't wait to see how they grow as a company.

      4. Soom: I honestly don't understand all the hate that Soom gets. It baffles my mind, because all of the dolls I've received directly from them (2 Feny's, 2 Necy's, Luxullia, and Cheshire) have been the most awesome dolls ever. Soom obviously takes great care in packaging their dolls. Everything is always bubble wrapped super well, and the dolls come in really fancy cushions with straps. Their faceups and body blushing are always so gorgeous, and I love that they create fantasy dolls. Not a lot of companies create full on fantasy dolls like Soom, and they hit the niche really well in my opinion. The prices, in my opinion, are really fair for what you get. For most of their dolls, you get two heads, human parts, and fantasy parts. I will never have a problem paying the price that Soom puts on their dolls. I also love that they offer different resin colors. I can't even tell you how hard it is to find light purple dolls. But Soom has their light violet, and it's the most gorgeous color I've ever seen. Soom has always been so incredibly helpful to me every time I ask them a question. It's also super easy to order from their website, and I love their system. It's all easily navigated, and I like the different colors for when your order updates to a new status. Their clothes, wigs, and eyes, are also great quality. I've honestly never disliked anything from Soom, and I don't think they deserve all the mean words they get. They are a fantastic company, yet people continue to say vicious and untrue things about them. Another thing with Soom is that they manage and produce FOUR separate kinds of dolls! Neo AngelRegion, The Gem, Rosettes, and Idealians. They work incredibly hard, can you imagine how much effot they put into designing and managing dolls from all four of those lines? They deserve a freaking pat on the back at the least, not hate.

      5. Dollmore: Dollmore honestly gets a 5/5 in all avenues for me. Their prices are so incredibly fair for what they sell. They make gorgeous limited edition dolls, and so far, have been a perfect fit for the dolls intended. The wigs, clothes, shoes, etc are always fantastic quality, and they give you free shipping for orders over $500. (I love free shipping, who doesn't?) The English reps over at Dollmore are fantastic. They answer my questions faster than any other company I've dealt with, and always very nicely and politely. They are so helpful, even when things go wrong. I can't give enough praise to their customer service. I also appreciate that they answer all of my questions. With places like Fairyland, if I ask if they are going to have an event, or if they might release a certain kind of doll, often they have completely ignored that part of my question, and only answered another part. Dollmore will answer all of it, even if it's to say, "We have no plans right now." Or, (for lack of a better phrase) "We don't know." I really appreciate that, instead of being ignored.

      6. Leekeworld: I only have one doll from Leekeworld, but I've also placed numerous orders with them for other things. The doll I ordered was made in lightning fast time. She's one of my more unique dolls, in a lovely color, and the faceup work on her is expert. The one thing I love the most about Leeke is their incredibly fast shipping. I love when I place an order, and it gets shipped the same day. That is incredible, and I am grateful for it. Their wigs are so pretty, and they have so much variety, along with their shoes, and eyes. The prices are fair, and customer service is amazing over there. I've never had any complaints about Leeke, and they have continued to be one of my more favorite companies over the years.

I could go on a little more, but these 6 I think really deserved these words.

    2. I 2nd this. My 1st BJD was a Souldoll Arhanian...I really love this doll! :aheartbea I also love the fact that they have several different sculpts to choose from...especially the Asian boy sculpts! I currently own 3 (well 2 with one on layaway).

Price is no problem (if it's a Souldoll)... ;)

    3. I like big muscular guys....so Iplehouse, Soom and Spirit Doll...but Iplehouse more for their really manly features.
Recently, other companies have started producing more muscular dolls eg. Dollshe and Impldoll so hopefully in the future there will be more choice.

    4. I've just ordered my first doll from Mystic Kids & so far I really like them! Obviously I don't have the doll yet but I really have heard good things about them. They have a lot of really cute sculpts & they are quite affordable. I think they will steadily become more popular! But I think the company that has the most dolls I love is Fairyland. I'd kill for sooo many of those dolls ;-;

    5. I now have a basic wolf from ringdoll, and a blue clown from peakswoods, besides evangeline ghastly from reimagination (tonner whatever they call themselves)

      Ringdoll--
they were pretty easy to deal with, they've helped me out a lot, I always enjoy dealing with them, I haven't really had any issues with them, they have some really nice stuff, good quality, and there layaway plans are 4 months but they are reasonable (I actually have ordered crystal, amethyst and valo from them a little while back still on layaway)

Peakswoods--I love peakswoods, love love love them, they are awesome, they are really quick with responding to emails, they are friendly, and kind and they help you out, there layaway plans are AMAZING you can customize what you want, when you want, I have NOT had an issue with them thus far, they are pretty flexible, I have actually ordered several other smaller dolls from them that are also on layaway) the only thing I don't care for, is the body, the body isn't that great, it's to huge IMO but the faceup's are stunning.

Reimagination-- Meh, they were prompt, not a lot of communication went into the deal, just click, buy, pay, ship done deal. Never had an issue they were packed well, good quality stuff.

    6. Recently I've become very interested in French dollmakers! I wouldn't say I have a favorite exactly, but I just find them to be much more intriguing and unique. :)

    7. I feel like I should divide my favourites into companies I have ordered from, and companies I've just admired from afar.

      Favourite Companies I've ordered from:

      1. Dollmore

I have two dolls from Dollmore. I've also ordered wigs, clothes, and shoes from them. Dollmore always shipped within the window of time mentioned on the website. Their communication was prompt and helpful, and I like that they have such a wide selection of dolls and accessories. They pack their dolls well and include all sorts of little surprises in the box. If you like the overall aesthetic and accessories, I think the fullsets are an awesome deal. These fullsets not only include the face-up, but often come with an outfit, good quality glass eyes, and a good quality wig. My first doll came from Dollmore and nothing could replace her.

      2. Iplehouse

I have ordered one doll from Iplehouse, and she is wonderful. I didn't have much contact with Iplehouse because the entire process was smooth. The doll shipped when the website indicated, and she arrived with everything in pristine condition. I'm continually impressed with the efforts that Iplehouse puts into their overall brand and releases. They keep trying new sculpts, new joints, new series, and through all of this, they work actively (more than any other doll company that I know of) to engage their fans and customers to see what they like and don't like. As a result, I think that Iplehouse is a truly dynamic company, one that is always innovating and trying to get into the heads of their collectors.

Favourite companies that I haven't ordered anything from:

      1. ResinSoul

This company has terrible pictures of their dolls. In person, when well-styled, ResinSoul's dolls are beautiful and can hold their own against any of the more high end companies. They have a distinct style, and that style might not be to everyone's taste, any more than a sculpt from Doll Chateau or DoD might be, but ResinSoul makes great dolls. I also like that ResinSoul offers so many resin options and can accommodate various requests from their customers (like switching the gender of the body to the head). Above all, I Love that ResinSoul offers good quality dolls for a price that is far more accessible than many other companies.

      2. Angel Egg

Spectacular, brilliant art dolls. Words don't really do them justice (not that this has prevented me from trying in the past).

      Honourable Mentions:

Withdoll, LoongSoul, Little Monica, Ringdoll, Salon de Coco, and RSDoll (formerly Raurencio Studio).

    8. I think I have three. I'm partial to Souldoll because that's where my first doll came from and my third (she was second hand). But I also love Fairyland's dolls as well. And I really like Ringdoll too. I also like some of Dollove's MSDs.

    9. I have only been in this hobby a year but here are my favorites... I have alot but my faovrite companies XD:
Blue Fairy: :aheartbea their dolls are sooo cute. their faces and they have cute fullsets. I love how they do basic fullsets. I was attracted to sarang XD at frist then may then it went down hill after that. they are cute as male or female.... its hard to decide
Crobidoll: Crobidoll tei was my first like need doll i am planning on getting him next i hope. I love all the crobidoll boy scuplts. They have stunning face ups and XD i love their scrawny bodies its endearing to me. Their wigs always look so cool :o i
Dream of doll: somebody's dream of doll sha is what got me into the hobby. their dolls look cool and I love the fantasy visual kei feel they have. the packaging from what i heard amuses me i want to see first hand:lol: their clothing is soo cool like a visual kei boy
      Luts:
I own a luts doll, great service , great dolls . they ship super fast and answer your questions just as quickly.i have to get a new luts kiwi cuz of my own stupidy but they have answered all my inquiries about her.
      Peakswoods:
peakswoods dolls are soo cute with their big eyes and some what melchonaly face. its like they popped off a kira imai drawing
      Volks:
Their girls dolls are gorgeous.. and they collaborate with japnaese fashion brands i love. XD i really want to do fcs... but they are always coming out iwth beautiful dolls

    10. Iplehouse
I love the realism of the dolls, they don't look like dolls they look liked real people. That's how my taste has developed. They are great quality and very heavy. To top it off they pose amazingly! :) Since I bought my first Iple that's the only company I've bought from.

    11. Most of the items i buy are from volks, so its up in the top i guess.... everything ive gotten is high quality, and ive never had any problems with shipping.
      I love most of the EP sculpts..... but i havent ordered much directly from them.... so yeah, i guess its volks actually ^_^;

    12. My favourite company would be Migidoll. Even though their site pictures aren't always that great, I really love the girliness and softness of their male dolls. They're well made and the seams barely show. Their face ups are also very simple but really pretty. The wigs and clothing they sell are also pretty original for as far as I know, and they are very well sewn as well.
On the other side; I don't like any other of their dolls but the M-series. The C-series mostly just freak me out...

    13. Switch cause my first doll (head+body) is from there, other than that very bias fact.. I love their sculpts for their heads & bodies. It is very dreamy and elegant... Oh I orgot to mention about their faceups + body blushing as well~ LoveLoveLove~ ^^

Rosenlied same reason regarding stylings.. I love it! Alot! It's very victorian and at the same time fairytale like and extremely girly in a frilly sort of way~ Plus their tiny sizes make them so adorable~

Crobidoll as it was the first company I fell in love with... Other than their dolls, I love that they build a whole world for you and your doll? That's not the exact words I'm looking for but it in a pinch, I guess? LOL. They hold regular events and updates on the dolls, do background stories of them equipped with web comics to show off their personalities. Just last year, they collaborated with a gaming company to come out with an otome game, based off the said existing illustrations of the dolls etc, which was really fun to play.

It was like a dream came through... Lol.

This would be my current top 3 favorite company thus far.. ^^

    14. Fairyland. They don't have a sculpt I don't like. I love all of their sculpts. They have also been EXTREMELY accommodating to me with my indecisiveness.

    15. DearMine, without a doubt. I love absolutely all of their sculpts and they are so friendly when you talk to them.

    16. Little Monica is my favorite doll company. I like almost all of their sculpts and their company faceups are beautiful. A close second would be souldoll primarily for that Shiva sculpt I would love to have someday ; _;

    17. My favorite company is the same with my grail doll, that is Unoa and Volks ^^
I love how the girls sculpt is so versatile and so beautiful in my eyes. I think the money that goes to the company is quite worth it, though I don't have enough at the moment :sweat
But I hope one day I can have one girl from these company that I really admire!

    18. Bambicrony - Because they make my favorite doll, Bambicrony Emily. I have three. ♥

    19. Even with the wait I love xagadoll. The resin is beautiful and they look great in everything.
On the other hand I may never order from ringdoll again as my dealings with my kyo had so many defects. I love the doll but it needed more work than it should have for a full set doll.

    20. I love LUTS!! Both of my dolls are from them! LUTS is great quality and they have fast shipping
