1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Favorite Doll Company and Why

May 5, 2012

    1. I love Volks...I love them, love them, love them! I adore so many of their sculpts, and so much of the clothing, shoes, and furniture on their website make me drool...but most of all, I adore going to their events! :)

My second love is Fairydoll for their Pukipukis and Realpukis. Hands down these teeny dolls have the best posing bodies I've ever played with. FL's customer service is top notch too! Thanks to their kindness years ago, I was able to get my adorable cranky Pukipuki Chi-chi FS "Smirnoff", even though he had just been listed as sold out. :D

      Juli DC :)

    2. I'm not sure I really have one, but if I had to pick, I'd probably say Blue Blood. The sculpts are all beautiful, the resin is wonderful, and above all else, Medusa is amazingly sweet and wonderful to work with. I have three of the four sculpts - or will once my boy on layaway comes home.

Other than that, probably 5Star. I have three full dolls and two bodies from them. The wait was ridiculous, but the dolls are great, and the posing is very good. The resin is nice. And the price is fantastic.

    3. Iplehouse is my favorite company ! I do not still have the opportunity to buy my dream doll (an EID Bichun ^^) cause it's very expensive, but I save my money to be able to buy to myself him. I really like the realism of their sculpt, and their styles too.

    4. Fairyland!!!!! That's where ALL of my bjd's are from. I just think they are hands down the cutest. And cute is what I'm all about. I know that they cost more than a lot of other companies, but it's worth it. I'm in the hobby because I'm obsessed with Fairyland <3

    5. I really really love Volks! I'm not sure why, but I don't love really thin dolls, and I love a bit of weight!

    6. Iplehouse - Their bodies, oh dear god, those bodies. Both female and male.
Volks - Some of their molds are less pretty to me, but some of them are also the prettiest dolls ever made.
Napidoll - Their heads remind me so much of Volks. I love how dolly alike they look with being too anime.
SOOM - Some of their early molds are so pretty, and a few of the newer too.
Little Monica - All of their dolls are beyond pretty! I adore them all.

    7. DollChateau for overall quality and ingenuity
      Fairyland for top-notch engineering
      DollsTown for lovely face sculpts

    8. My fav is latidoll... I just.. LOVE THEIR DOLLS.

    9. Soom for their awesome Monthly dolls ( YOSD especially!). Kinda sad that they're usual ones aren't so fantastic in my opinion. If only they're monthly dolls lasted longer ;__; they're too beautiful.
Another one would be Luts. IM IN LOVE, with their KDF SSD and SD. They're sculpts are super pretty. I wish they would make more male Kdf who has pouty lips. 8D
( this won't end ...) CROBIDOLL DOLL ASWELL. Goodness ! They're so dreamy *^* Especially Yeon Ho and Zion ~! they're bodies are very beautifully made!
Ok lastly, ;_; DOLLMOREEEE ! Very well made bodies !; n ; Nice details especially for the manlier dolls! I'm currently being so biased to Yarn Sae ( glamour doll )~!

    10. I'd have to say Volks and Iplehouse are my favorite.

    11. A long, long time ago, Custom House was an excellent company; one of the best. I remember the days when they prepared for Doll Contest and interacted frequently with their customers. There was a closeness and camaraderie that truly embodied a welcoming and warm community. A lot of their fans forged friendships with each other and with their rep and artists. Custom House (unfortunately) deteriorated within the past few years, disappointing a lot of their long time fans. However, Custom House of years past will always be my favorite doll company!

I still have a bunch of postcards of their uniques/event dolls as well as a tshirt!

    12. For the new company, I'd say Granado. Their service and communication is great and lovely, also I love their doll's quality.
For the old company, I's say Volks. Great resin quality and also the awesome faces. They sell full set dolls and I love each of them!

    13. Doll Chateau! I want to own every single one of their sculpts. I'm not sure if it is the lines of their bodies or their unique beauty, but I find them devastatingly attractive.. I admire Iplehouse dolls very much and plan to own one by the end of this year. I also enjoy any number of others including Fairyland, DIM, etc... Still, a DC was my first doll and my first love and you never forget that now do you?

    14. i've only ever owned obitsu, dream of doll, and fairyland dolls. one of my friends has a doll from dollmore that i've had the pleasure of playing with too. with only these 4 companies, i'm afraid i have not much of a basis for comparison.

however, i've grown partial to fairyland dolls. i love their sculpts and the hyper-articulated jointing is impressive! i have yos atm but am planning for minifees in the (hopefully near) future.

other companies that i'm interested in buying from include volks and alchemic laboratory. and the soom monthlies are always in my dreams.

    15. I've only ever owned from three different companies, yet have seen a variety. My favorite company might actually be Volks. A lot of the SD girls have the aesthetic I like - large eyes, tiny nose and lips. Plus they actually look somewhat "asian" to me. They're super cute too, I love my Rose. And Dollfie Dreams are just fantastic!

Bluefairy tops off the 45 cm range dolls. I love their face ups and their sculpts are all very cute.

      Crobidoll has my favorite boys.

And mygreenpajamas I love your Chie avatar

    16. My favorite company is definately Crobidoll :aheartbea I love the type of characters their dolls represent and I think everything they make is so tasteful and stylish ^^ I also love how they've made Yo-SD versions of Lance and Yeon-Ho ^^ It's like seeing baby pictures of our precious dolls ^^ And I'll forever be thankful of their Re-MakeUp service!!

    17. I am definitely a Volks fan, there aren't many Volks sculpts I don't like and they have wonderful customer service, which is a huge plus-point for me. I will not shop with companies that have a bad reputation for customer service.

I'm also loving Crobidoll and Little Monica, I have had wonderful experiences with both companies. I haven't bought dolls from them yet, but it's only a matter of time.

Bluefairy is another company I really like - I haven't bought from them yet, but that's because I'm waiting for Shiny Fairy May to become available. I love the shape of her eyes and her little teeth :)

    18. I may only have one doll right now, but...

Luts has to be my favorite. I love their sculpts and find them to be so beautiful. Plus, the feel of their resin is extremely nice for being such an affordable price. My Kid Delf's body is so easily posable and came nicely strung, too. Plus, she's so super cute and Luts seems to have a way with making super cute dolls. The only thing I don't like about the company is their discontinuation with the Delf line. I kind of would like to own one, but now that hopes kind of gone.

As for the future, I really and absolutely love SOOM Rosette School of Dolls. I love how long their legs are because as a runner, long legs are beautiful and super wonderful to have. They have their own personalities, too, and have such beautiful faces. They are a bit pricey, but I hear such good things about these dolls that I'm thinking about getting one in the far away future.

    19. Well, I do not own many dolls - two exactly. Both from the same company. So my nick says it all.

Tried to do with a boy from another company. Just didn't work. It had to be the really big guy.

And OMG - Iplehouse dolls are just soo gorgeous. Cannot say much about the company though, as I did not deal directly with them.

But what they issue - wow, just my taste. Maybe one day I will become weak again...

    20. There are actually quite a few companies I love, and would happily look at their new releases and owner photos - but would never buy from as they don't really fit with the majority of dolls I currently have.
Out of all (and judging by the space taken up by the first company), these would be the personal favorites:
Soom for their sculpts and body (it's kind of close to a log when trying to pose it, but the sculpture is really juicy).
Volks for their resin quality and YoSDs, and for many of their SD molds as well.
Supia - again, for their gentle faces and beautiful (although almost impossible to pose) body *___*
