1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Favorite Doll Company and Why

May 5, 2012

    1. Iplehouse all the way!

Service is good, comunication is generally good, the dolls them selves are awsome, and the costuming for them is stunning.

Fairyland is a close second with Spirit doll coming up from behind.

    2. I like Resinsoul.
Say what you will about them - I know their flaws.
I own many more "expensive" dolls as well as my Resinsoul dolls, so
it's not the affordability that draws me to Resinsoul - I have no problem saving up
and spending $800 on a doll, as long as I get what I want for my character.
For a "cheap" company, they possess many attributes that I think other companies should also have.

      1. They respond quickly and will happily sell you parts of a doll or a doll in a different skintone even if it isn't listed in their shop. (I requested a dark tan Bao and they sold him to me)
      2. Despite their low prices, all Resinsoul dolls come PERFECTLY seamless - most companies will charge you up to $100 or more to have the seams removed.
      3. There is a huge selection of skintones and they only cost around $15 extra! How amazing is that?
      4. Resinsoul only takes about a month to produce a doll.
      5. They send you a free, high quality carry bag. I've been using mine for years with no damage done to the bag or the dollies within. :)

And those are the reasons I can think of for the moment. Of course, their low, low prices are a huge plus :D

    3. Just would like to see how other companies fair against the ones I've bought from as I'm always looking for the next doll. I own a full-set HZ "Wangye," a full-set Angel of Dream "Jiasha," and a 5star doll "Tumnus." From what I've heard along with my own personal opinion, HZ has one the best, if not, the best outfits out there; not only are they creative, but they have amazing quality and craftsmanship. As for the sculpts, they are nothing short of amazing. Angel of Dream dolls pose incredibly well and have great, dense resin, and last, but not least, 5star Doll carries one of the more unique and creative sculpts along with amazingly smooth resin.

So, give me some reasons why the company you chose is your favorite. :)

    4. Fairyland for poseability.
      Iplehouse for realism and quality.

    5. I currently have a bobobie and I love him but yeah the higher quality companies like iplehouse are really on my radar....one day...

    6. Fairyland for poseability, always.
Crobidoll and Luts... just cause. Crobi's poseability is subpar but both companies have amazing sculpts as far as I'm concerned.
Resinsoul and Bobobie for being elegant yet affordable.

    7. SOOM for their old MDs. Especially the tinies.
Iplehouse for their lovely bodies and head sculpts.
Little Monica for having some of the prettiest dolls out there.

    8. From the one I've dealt with, I love Luts(SDs) and Soom(tinies) and DOD (MSDs) :D however, I don't like DOD bodies, I love the MSD sculpts only. If I have to choose among all of them, I would choose Luts for excellent customer service and their wonderful dolls' quality.

I am waiting for an Iplehouse and Minoru World dolls, I will edit this post when I get them and write a mini review about both companies.

    9. Hm I think...I love Switch most for faces, they have beautiful, BEAUTIFUL faces...and the most pretty open-mouthed dolls ever...
Doll Chateau would be for bodies. I love, LOVE their bodies...they are simply perfect and as far as I know, pretty nicely poseable also.
But for dolls I own and want to own, I'd say Luts and Crobidoll. Most of their dolls are very very pretty and well, I can't explain it, I'm just attracted to them and want to hoard them (almost) all!!! >u<

    10. I really can't say. I don't own a doll from all the com. out there, so it would not be fair at this point to say that I like one over another. From the doll that I do own I can say this much they all have good, and bad things about them. I didn't know about Luts I'm going to look into them, and Crobidoll. Thanks:fangirl:

    11. My favorites are Lumedoll, Limhwa, Napidoll, and Supia. I love the faces these artists create. :)

    12. I gotta say, I loves me some Resinsoul. Say what you want about their posing, but I LOVE their rich, vivid fantasy colors and beautiful sculpts! I'm also a huge fan of Doll Chateau for their posing and unique look, and Fairyland for their posing.

    13. Volks: I think the quality is good. And among all the dolls I have, the volks doll is the one with the most potential I think. :)

    14. Despite how long they've taken with my doll, souldoll is still my favorite. They were one of the first companies I was introduced to and I still love most of their sculpts. They're perfectly beautiful with a dash of eerie so that I can't get them out of my head. Each sculpt in itself speaks a personality to me and inspires me in some way or another and even though I've never officially owned one myself, their still my favorite company.

    15. To pick one would be impossible, so I'll pick a couple. :3

I have a soft spot for Peakswood's, because their Goldie was the first BJD I fell for (and the first one I bought, years later). However, since I got my Luts Dahlia I'm completely in love with her body, it poses so well and is generally suited to my tastes. And it's not like the faces of the Luts dolls hurt to look at, either... :3

Other companies whose aesthetic I adore are Souldoll for their wonderful faces, Doll Chateau for their creepy-gorgeous bodies, Supia and Elfdoll for their... well, everything. ^^

    16. It's hard to choose! I have only gotten into BJDs in the last couple months, so I still am not familiar with all the different companies, and my opinions seem to change as I discover new dolls. But for now, it's definately Dollsoom! Their LE's are so beautiful! Not only are the pictures on their website gorgeous, but when people post pictures of soom dolls they own, they are stunning as well. In short, I'm super jealous of anyone who owns one!

    17. DikaDoll~ :aheartbea

I love almost all of their molds but Autumn and Adler were the ones I knew I just *had* to get. Their quality is superb and the pricing reasonable. They also have fast producing times which is a huge plus because I'm very impatient. :D

I'm willing to buy dolls from other companies too, but DikaDoll was the first that really caught my eye and didn't let go until I had ordered my dream dolls... I'm very grateful to them for that because I had been looking for just *the* right BJD for years on end and nothing really spoke to me until I saw Dika's Autumn.

Now I'm dreaming about Dika's SD boy Dawn and surprisingly for me Dika's SD girl Lola too~ So, I think I'm going to get even more Dika's dolls in the future. Oh well, what can you do...

    18. I consider myself as a Souldoll addict :sweat In fact, my first and most of my dolls were from Souldoll.
Their communication is good, resin quality is awesome, faceups are beautiful, but above all I think most of their dolls are absolutely breathtaking and expressive.

I do plan to buy other dolls from other companies, but I suspect that my collection will still be dominated by Souldoll dolls :)
(Yes I want to make my very own Souldoll army)

    19. Of the dolls I've purchased so far, I am most satisfied with my Luts dolls. Both pose wonderfully right out of the box, I adore the quality of the resin, and the company faceups are lovely. I'd easily say it's my favorite company and I look forward to getting my third doll from them soon!
