1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Favorite Doll Company and Why

May 5, 2012

    1. For me it is Volks. I just love their quality and whenever I buy from them, I can be sure everything will be perfect. I love other companies like Soom, Iplehouse, Luts, too, but until now Volks was the only one without quality problems (no dolls from Volks with thin resin parts, no-matching headcaps, dolls with posing problems, fast yellowing,...)

I can also add Dikadoll to my favorites, their price/quality/sculpts are awesome!!

    2. I've only dealt with Fairyland, DoD and Soom. C: As of now, Soom is my favorite. They've always been great with customer service and their aesthetics match mine. I just love hooves and paws! c: Sometimes quality problems will occur, but they've always been fast to fix it. ^^

    3. :aheartbea Volks :aheartbea
There is something about Volks that just pulls me in and keeps me there. I adore their dolls, I love their events and their company and service and history.

I don't get that feeling from any other company. I try to get into other companies and change my style but it doesn't work out. I always go straight back to Volks.

    4. Would I be a troll if I said I didn't have one?

I honestly cannot say that I have a single favorite...but there is a tie for it between Dollshe, Luts, and Dollzone. I adore Dollshe's boys, their bodies, and the lovely details to them. Luts, however had very beautiful face sculpts, and the limiteds they bring out never fail to dazzle me. Dollzone has both lovely sculpts, and I love their female bodies... I also love the unique fantasy dolls they've come out with as of late.

I honestly can't decide which is my favorite...but I suppose I could say my favorite company would be the company I buy from should I only be able to own one doll ever... In that case, it would be Luts.

    5. Just for the record, I'm a Luts fan. I fell in Love with one of them, and ever since, I have been loving them.
Not all of them, far from it, but every doll I see, the first I do is a mental comparison to luts. I've been marked hard by El. I love other companies and molds, it's just that I don't remember them so much, or like so many of them....

    6. Fairyland, definitely! I am a sucker for Tinies and Fairyland makes amazing bodies and sculpts. I love the little elf ears and the baby faces, I am a huge Fairyland fan!

    7. Soom is my facorite company since i discover the MD teenie Gem.
I enjoy every new (and old :) ) mold.
I really like the fantasy parts for these dolls & the creativity of their team.

    8. Crobidoll without a doubt. They just seem like they care and they ship out stuff soo quickly. Also they just give the customers pretty much what they want. Like they had a poll where people decided what past limited doll they want renewed and they made one of their new limiteds cheaper for alittle while because people voted to make it cheaper. They make these adorable web comics about the dolls. Their dolls are so beautiful as well, I'm quite literally addicted to their Yeon-ho sculpt (I have three). Rarely do I ever hear a bad thing about this company. With some many BJD companies going under, I just feel like I can trust this one.

I will give Peak's Woods an honorable mention, they are a pretty fantasic company as well.

    9. Iplehouse forever <3 my first dreamdoll was a JID Tania, and if I was rich, I would probably own 5 more dolls from them XD

Second would be Fairyland I think, closely followed by Soom (I SO want a Spinel!!)

    10. Only Iplehouse. I can`t say why, but I want all of their dolls, every mold. Every.
Then, Fairyland, but from this company I want only Chloe.
Also I like Soom. I very want Amber and Onyx, but Onyx I want more.
      There are my favourite companies.

    11. After a year into this hobby I stick to Volks, the reason is you can actually save money buying from volks despite the cost for getting the doll in the first place, their doll sculptor is pefect which means you're in satisfaction of having just one for a long time not wanting to expand your family, the resin is easy to maintain and it's easy to get cheap second hand stuff for any of their size, my friend have an EID, she has to spent 20% extra on each order of the doll's clothes, other reasons, for instance, volks dolls look most alike to their pictures on their web; mostly their joints don't make any noise; and you can hybrid any normal skintone volks head and body 3 years apart without worrying the resin difference, which can also save money if you want a hybrid

    12. Fairyland!

      There communication,dolls,and shipping,is all great.
      NO QUESTION ABOUT IT.
      There absolutely AMAZING!
Yet i haven't tried they POPULAR and FAMOUS Volks...to expensive.

    13. I'm sort of a hardcore Ringdoll fangirl at the moment. I've never been so entranced by fullset dolls as I have been with Ringdoll's boys. Normally I go for basics so I can customize or change their style at least a little. But with Ringdoll I just want their fullests more than their basics. I have 8 Ringdolls so far, and one on the way. They are the one company I can't say no to!

...and I love them despite all the problems they've had. I happily waited almost 8 months for dolls from them. Repeatedly. I've gotten horrible and great faceups and quality from them. And still I go back for more. There's just something about their dolls, and their company as a whole that really draws me in and keeps me obsessing and loving~ :)

Other than Ringdoll, I'm quite the Dollzone fan. Not so much their newer dolls, but some of their older molds like Yuu, Mo, Megi, Felian, and others made around then. I actually seem to like most of the companies that have roots with Dollzone. haha (like Ringdoll and Doll Chateau)

    14. Iplehouse, because they have the most gorgeous sculpts of any company out there, the most lovely resin I've ever seen (Realskin), some of the best default face-ups, and they don't make us wait as long as some other companies we can all name.

    15. I have a couple of favorite companies, I really can't pick just one. :P

Volks - Very first company whose sculpts I was really attracted to. Even after years of comparing doll bodies against other companies' products, Volks dolls still look like the "healthiest" in terms of body size.

Luts - They have a wide selection of sculpts, many of which appeal to me. The sculpts are also "age-appropriate" in the sense that you won't see a very sexy, mature face on a Honey Delf/Yo-SD sized Luts doll. The bodies are also okay by my standards, leaning more to the skinny side, but I don't mind.

Lati - Tinies are my weakness, and Lati has some of the cutest super-tinies I have ever seen. And the fact that they manage to look somewhat proportional still is a plus. :D

    16. I also don't have only one favourite doll company.
I got my two first dolls from AngellStudio and they make beautiful and graceful dolls. Those two dolls still have a special place in my heart. Even though AS had many problems in their past, they're still one of my favourite companies.
Iplehouse I like, because they have the perfect bodies, not only for posing. They Same with Dollstown. Both are really good companies.
Dollzone experimented a lot and it's hard to see what really happens sometimes. There are dolls I really don't like and also dolls that I really love to death. I'm more on the positive side with them. Their minis' posing abilities are awesome.

    17. Iplehouse - when I first found out about BJD's I spent an entire weekend on the internet looking at every doll imaginable. The IH dolls for me were pure perfection. I was struggling with Eva or Asa and ended up getting Eva. I have Roger on layaway and would like to get one of every size.

    18. Souldoll and Doll Chateau, definitely! My SD SK Asen's on the way and I've never even seen a doll from DC in real life but I am just so completely overwhelmed with love for all of their sculpts. <3

    19. I am new to this whole thing and want to make the right choice right out of the cracker jack box. I have started to love the Minifees from Fairyland. I love the fact you can change there face easily and hands are held on by magnets!! Is the resin thick and well made? Anyway just beautiful dolls!! I am thinking of the activeline.

    20. If you like their style, you can't go much wrong with Fairyland. Their dolls are well-made and of good quality.

For me, a tad too cartoonish to own. But others love their style, and they are nice to look at.
