1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Favorite Sculptors

Feb 24, 2016

    1. Hi, guys,

So, my dad was making about my Realfee Mari doll the other day and wanted to know if she was somehow signed by the artist. Aside from her CoA, there wasn't any indication of a signature on her. But that got me into actually researching the sculptors who work for/with all these companies.

So, who are your favorite sculptors in the hobby? Have they stayed in one company or have they branched out to others? Can you tell what's their sculpt just buy looking at it?

    2. I haven't really paid attention to which people sculpt who within a company, but now I kinda want to... in terms of independent artists I'm obsessed with Youpla Dolls right now!!

    3. I've never seen Youpla Dolls before! What a talented artist!

    4. Right? I preordered her first doll, Zopa! :aheartbea so excited!

    5. I'm not so good at keeping track of sculptor name either, but I have to say Kat (Little Rebel) has never made an ugly doll!

    6. @TheBodyVolcanic Wow, those are gorgeous dolls! I can't wait to see what you do with yours. I suppose it make be a little easier keeping track of independent artist and very small companies, as opposed to the "bigger" names like Doll Chateau and Fairyland.

I want to track down the name of the artists who designed the Realfee lines and the artist of a few other sculpts I really love.

    7. Kana of Kanadoll (and Rosenlied) springs to mind immediately. I don't keep track of individual sculptors within CP/Fairyland, but I do love a lot of their work. And let's not forget Banyo of Maskcatdoll (formerly Beyours), her work and her determination are something to aspire too!

    9. I love any doll by Gu Mi Jeong, eg Narsha, Zaoll, Heeah, Alexdoll

And YG Flux, owner of Dollsbe but has done work for Lati and Bambicrony.

And of course Kana as mentioned above, her work is gorgeous too.

    10. I love the work of Akihiru Enku, one of the sculptors at Volks, which is probably why all the Volks dolls I own are made by him :). Strangely, I wouldn't automatically know if a sculpt is done by him, but everytime I see a sculpt from Volks I love, and check out who's the sculptor, it's Enku.

Also seconding the love for Gu Mi Jeong. They make some very cute faces.

    11. Jung Hye Eun is my favorite sculptor, I'd say. I'm a big Soom fan in general, especially of the older sculpts and one day I noticed that all of my absolute favorites were sculpted by the same person lol. Most of the ones I currently own are also her work.
I'm not sure if she's still with the company, I read somewhere a while ago that she left and also didn't see any new dolls released credited to her. But then I believe it states her name as Aslan's creator, a fairly recent doll. Not sure if that just means it's an older head that they just now used, or if she came back .,.

    12. KiYong who is the owner sculptor at Dollshe is one of my favorite. He sculpted Saint, my all time favorite. Huang Shan of Ringdoll is my other favorite sculptors, he made Sol, my first doll, and a strange bunch, Zombie Sol and Frankenstein.
