1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Feedback for Demi669 & DemiDesignz

Mar 2, 2009

    1. Demi669 ran another 2079Realms GO. I was well aware that it would be a long process and didn't mind waiting for the 100+ member GO to be sorted and dealt with before shipping the items out. Communication was sporadic but informative, so I didn't mind it. All the major order updates were duly noted - order placed, items shipped, items arrived, and I received an email notification when my items were shipped. I received all the items of my order without any problems - and that's all that matters to me. Thanks for your effort, Demi!

    2. Participated in the most recent GO from Demi669. I have been in GO's before, and ones that were open for a very long time before closing, and never had the issues that I did with this one. Two months to get my shoes to me, after they arrived at Demi's home, and some people still don't have theirs. Communication was poor, and any time anyone brought up concerns on the thread, they were dogpiled by white knights that felt the need to jump in. While I am happy to have finally gotten my shoes, I'm sorry to say that I will not be participating in another of Demi's GO's. I understand that RL interferes, and RL has got to come first... but if RL is that hectic, then perhaps running a GO of this size wasn't a good idea.

    3. One year ago I joined Demi's 2079 Realms GO that had already been open for a year. Now finally another year later I have received my order. While I expected the actual filling up of the shoe slots to take a little while I was not expecting the wait once the shoes were received.

I found Demi to be an extremely disorganized host right from the beginning. When submitting my order by email she never responded to say that she received it and it was confirmed. Instead I had to wait for her to update the thread which seemed to happen very sporadically. Then once we had enough orders and it was time to collect payments it took nearly two months as she took forever in following up on people who weren't sending payment. Once the last of the shoes (they were shipped in three packages) arrived in early November she took nearly a month to send out any packages. When she did send out packages she sent only five out. Despite this she had promised us we would have our packages before the holidays. As of this review however only 11 packages out of 93 have been shipped.

To make things even worse her communication was extremely lacking. She rarely would check in on the thread and only would if a large number of people started to complain. Multiple suggestions were made on how to speed things up but all were ignored until about a week ago. She made excuse after excuse about why she was not shipping orders but never did anything to fix things until someone opened a paypal claim against her last week. It was only then that she shipped six more packages, mine included.

All in all it was a very dissatisfying experience and I will never do business with Demi again.

    4. I recently received my shoes from a 2079 Realms GO that Demi ran over the span of 2 years.

At the beginning of the GO in 2012, Demi may have been well equipped to deal with the massive amount of shoes to be ordered. This changed by the end of the order in late 2013 to early 2014. Her time management and communication went downhill for lengthy periods of time. Updates on order status were reasonable, but it was often only through many complaints in the thread that she made more progress on the GO. Occasionally she responded unprofessionally to these complaints. However, when she did consider feedback and made progress, it seemed to be in an orderly fashion. For a GO so enormous and complicated, involving literally hundreds of pairs of shoes, I do not have complaints about the way she organized information; only that her communication should have been more frequent and without prompt, and that her progress should have been steady and fully explained to participants.

Demi, while well-intentioned, also had a habit of making empty promises (ie. that the shoes would be received before Christmas, which would have been impossible for her to do when she made the promise in early December, having not shipped any shoes yet) and did not set enough clear deadlines for herself or for the members of the GO (ie. shoe invoices took 2 months to resolve because Demi did not set a due date, and she did not set a clear shipping schedule after the shoes were received). These are very difficult things to do during a GO of this size, but should be noted.

In the end, I received the correct order of shoes quickly after the time they were shipped. I am pleased with the condition and correctness of my order, but am not pleased with the overall timeliness of this GO. I would not participate in another 2079 Realms GO run by Demi, and personally I would rather not participate in any smaller GOs run by her, even though I don't believe a GO of this volume reflects her overall reliability as a seller.

Demi has now had the shoes in her possession from 2079 Realms since November 2013, and has shipped ~10?/100 packages. About half of those packages were shipped several days ago, and the others seem to have been received in early January/late December. Progress was at a stand-still for quite some time, which I understand was due to missing shoes, mixups, and RL struggles; however, I hope for both Demi's and especially everyone else's sakes that this order is entirely over with soon.

    5. I participated in a large (100+ participant) 2079 Realms G.O. hosted by Demi. I am a G.O. rookie, but I can only imagine the stress that an order this large can cause especially when real life issues take over (and anyone who has ever had major RL problems can have empathy).

At the start, I understood that it was rather open-ended and would be a year or more. No problem. I think the order from Realms that contained my shoes finally arrived in November. I received my invoice for shipping on Jan 2nd, paid immediately and my shoes arrived today (Feb 3rd). I had more than a dozen pairs and everything came to me exactly as I had ordered way back.

I know that others in the GO are upset with Demi due to communication issues. I don't know her and have never dealt with her before, but I was not dissatisfied. I am patient and I understand that real life issues can cause problems. I also understand that things could have been done differently and Demi acknowledged that, accepted responsibility and apologized.

I am leaving positive feedback. I commend her efforts to take on such a task, to take responsibility and try to handle everything that is happening here at the end. I hope the entire GO ends well for all involved.

    6. I participated in Demi's massive 2079 Realms GO. I am satisfied with the items I received and the shipping price was fair, though I will say I am hesitant to join another of her GO's because of her gap in communication.

    7. I participated in Demi's 2079 Realms GO. I received my items well packed and in good condition. I would not mind joining another GO run by Demi because I have no problem waiting for items and I know how life outside the web can be.

    8. I participated in the 2079 Realms GO. While I understand that this was a huge endeavor, there was severe lack of communication. With this many people involved, frequent updates are a must. While I have received and I'm satisfied with my items, I will not join another GO run by Demi because of the communication issue and lack of progress after the shipment was fires received in November. I understand life happens, and wish her no ill. I hope everything works out for her and the rest of the participants.

    9. I participated in Demi's 2079realms order, I knew that it would be a long process, which was fine, but troubles started as soon as it was time to pay for our shoes. The order was delayed quite some time due to stragglers who weren't paying their invoices, a firm deadline for payment was never set, Demi was never particularly firm about when things should be paid. I understand why, but I don't think a GO leader should be so lenient when there are quite literally, 70+ other people waiting.

As time went on Demi's organization skills and ability to update the thread and respond to concerns just went downhill. It got to the point where she never really posted in the thread unless there were numerous complaints. I understand there were some real life complications that started to spring up, but when you have people's money and their items, they count as real life too. Demi officially had everyone's items in November. I was finally given my shipping invoice from her to me sometime late Decemer/early January. I only just now received my shoes. They are in good condition, nothing is missing, but the severe lack of organization and communication has me hesitant to ever join a GO lead by Demi again. I'm leaving neither positive or negative feedback for Demi due to her communication issues and poor organization skills.

    10. I also joined Demi's 2079 Realms group order. I knew I would be waiting for quite some time and didn't mind. However, the further into the GO we got, the worse Demi got about handling it. Her communication became so sporadic it was practically nonexistent. She insisted that people wouldn't get personalized responses when money was received, shipping invoices were sent, etc., and we all had to check the participants list in the GO thread for updates. Except she didn't update the participants list for weeks at a time.

When people started paying for orders, Demi failed to set a final payment date, leaving everyone to wait for months for a few stragglers. The order was delayed more than necessary as a result. The final package of shoes arrived at the start of November 2013. Demi repeatedly made empty promises that she was working on the shoes, would get them to us before Christmas, and so forth. Supposed shipping dates came and went.

Demi did not post updates until large numbers of people started posting about how the GO was falling apart. When she did post, her responses were unprofessional, catty, and childish. Said posts included: 1) Her attempting to get pity by complaining about how she was doing all this out of the goodness of her heart while working multiple jobs, then going into detail about how her jobs are incredibly difficult and time-consuming; 2) Her saying, in as many words, "I'm going to go sit in a corner and cry because everyone hates me for no reason" when people complained about lack of updates and broken promises; 3) Angry outbursts against the loudest dissatisfied members.

She started shipping packages after the start of the year. It is now February 2014, and as far as anyone can tell less than 20 out of the 100-something packages have been shipped; only about five of those were shipped prior to this past week. She did not ship the packages in order of payment received, but supposedly in order of which packages she could check to make sure they were complete. However, it has become increasingly obvious that, if she's checking the packages at all, she's doing a terrible job of it. Mine happened to be one of the first packages shipped out. I only bought three pairs of shoes, and when I got my box, there were two pairs. Demi claimed, after I contacted her, that the problem was that some friends helped her sort and they mixed up MSD and SD shoes that happened to be the same style. This claim doesn't hold up, because if that were the case, I would've received a pair of MSD shoes instead of my SD ones, not been missing a pair entirely. Had Demi checked before shipping, she would have very clearly noticed two pairs instead of three. She's also swapped two people's orders already and sent them to the wrong places.

After Demi's excuse as to why one pair of shoes was missing, she has now stated in the thread that there are a lot of shoes that weren't put into boxes and she's trying to find where they go, so anyone missing shoes will get theirs once she sorts that out. She hasn't given an estimate of when that will be. With how it's gone so far, I don't expect the missing shoes any time soon.

Overall, communication was poor and unprofessional, updates were infrequent and insufficient, the order was held up much longer than necessary, and Demi is obviously not capable of running an order of this magnitude in a timely and responsible manner. Yes, I got most of my shoes, and I expect I'll get what's left eventually. Despite that, this has been my worst experience in the marketplace, and while I understand that RL issues come up, I would not deal with Demi in any way again.

    11. I participated in Demi's 2079 Realms GO.
I joined sometime in April, paid as soon as I got my invoice, and shipping invoice. Demi's communication was sometime random, but most of the time her posts were lost in the hoards of people complaining about lack of update. Many people were telling her what she should do, and contradicting each other, so they made the GO very difficult, taking away the time Demi had from sorting the packages so she could explain.

There are ways she could have done better, but with what was given to her (people dropping off or non-payments) she has done fine.
That being said, this was my first GO, and it was... Educational.

      I give Demi ★★★ out of 5.

    12. I don't remember when I joined the GO for 2079 Realms but paid as soon as I got the invoice. I ordered 4 pairs of one shoe so I could get it, and Demi bought a pair off me and that paid for my shipping. However, it took a long time to ship after the shoes arrival and for updates. However, I am pleased with how fast I got my shoes. Thank you!

    13. I participated in a 2079 Realms GO ran by Demi669. With such a large scale order it was expected delays on filling up slots, the items all being mailed out to Demi and the items then being sorted to be shipped out to participants. What was not expected was the lack of communication and consistency in updating the participant list to reflect any relevant updates (including when items were shipped). These things didn't happen until later when people started to voice complains (admittedly many people got out of hand with that). It became difficult to sort through the thread so that when relevant information was posted it fell through the cracks (that is not entirely Demi's fault but if communication were more consistent it may have not become such a large issue).

As for shipping items it took two months from the moment I paid my invoice, the second week of December, till my shoes were mailed to me in the third week of February. All items were accounted for, shipping was a bubble Flat Rate Priority envelop so the items were well secured. So the only fault I have in Demi's shipping is the delay but after taking suggestions to ship them out between work hours or on the go it got better.

At the present time I would not join any future GO ventures Demi undertakes. With so many participants and items to sort delays, lack of communication and some passive aggressive words appear that would make me avoid any GO run by Demi. Still my feedback remains neutral as after being able to properly read the concerns in the thread Demi did make an effort to get things moving in a positive direction.

    14. Short of it = I would not join another GO that Demi runs.

In all my years of buying and selling on DOA this has to be the most unprofessional and disorganized transaction that I have ever been involved with. ( Aside from when I bought a doll belt that turned out to be cat collar. Onward!)

Having myself run group orders and organizing a bjd convention all my by self in the past I understand, deadlines, pressures and unforeseen circumstances. I can be empathetic with personal circumstances that arise and even horrible blizzards that keep you from shipping out items.

However Demi sorely lacked communication/updates in her threads and I think this is what frustrated most people. I am not upset with Demi in the least though. This is a classic case of 'biting off more then one can chew". The GO became large and circumstances in her personal life began to take the forefront. She sent out 5 packages out to select people as soon as the order arrived and the rest of us had to wait...months for our shoes from her. Demi received the order of shoes in November and she sent out my invoice a month later. I paid my final invoice on 12- 15-2013 and received my shoes 2-21-2014.

    15. I was a participant in the "2079 Realms GO #2" run by Demi669. I received my items today, they were packaged well but unfortunately I have to leave negative feedback. These are the facts:

      1) On 7/13/13 I received an invoice for my 3 items and shipping to Demi669
      2) On 7/13/13 I paid the above invoice
      3) October 2013 the order arrived to Demi669
      4) On 12/2/13 on page 33, post #651 of the GO thread Demi669 stated "Everyone will definitely have their shoes before the holidays"
      5) On 1/2/14 I received an invoice for shipping my 3 items to me
      6) On 1/2/14 I paid the above invoice
      7) On 3/17/14 my items arrived

I feel this GO was not handled properly, Demi669 took on this commitment of her own free will and I joined believing it would be handled in a proficient manner which it was NOT, I therefore will not do any business with Demi669 in the future and would not recommend her to anyone else.

    16. I participated in Demi's last 2079 Realms GO. I expected a long wait for the shoes, and I was not disappointed...once the items in the order arrived to Demi, it was another five months from that point before I received my shoes. However, both pairs of shoes and the watch that I ordered arrived to me safely today, so I am content.

    17. I participated in Demi's latest 2079 Realms GO. I joined fairly late, but still understood that I could still be in for a long wait, so I wasn't exactly worried about how long it would take to receive my items until they actually made their way to Demi. Honestly, this is where I started to get frustrated. The items were received in November and we were promised that the items would be received before the holidays, which I doubted at the time considering how massive this GO was, though I still remained hopeful.

While I didn't get my items before the holidays, luckily my package did end up being in one of the first waves to go out. In February. Everything was accounted for, however, and well packaged so I can't complain there. Also, while communication was starting to go downhill before my package was shipped, I can't comment on what happened after I considered my part in this order done. So as for my part, I was mostly satisfied with a few frustrations here and there. I, however, will not be partipating in another of Demi's GOs.

    18. I participated in Demi's last 2079 Realm's GO. I knew that there was going to be a long wait in getting enough members to join and waiting for the items to be made etc. What I had not anticipated was the nearly even longer wait to have them get shipped out to us after she had received the items. There was extremely poor communication and nearly no updates. My package was at least well packed and I believe to have been upgraded as it was through priority 2 day shipping. But overall I will not join any other GO that Demi runs or do any other business with her.

    19. I was the person who initiated the Problem Transaction with Demi. When I joined Demi's GO, her post was very specific about the time frame for payment and how she wanted to be communicated with. I felt that this was a person who was up to the challenge of such a massive transaction. And perhaps she was at the time, or perhaps the GO simply grew to be much larger than she anticipated.

The first sticking point was the refusal to set a definite deadline for payment. Those who had paid waited an additional month to six weeks while Demi waited for a handful of stragglers to get their payments in, rather than just dropping them from the GO.

The second sticking point was the update list, which was updated so sporadically as to be useless. Another participant in the GO made an addendum to the list in her first post on the thread, in an effort to show the true current status of the GO. That effort was greatly appreciated by all of us, but would not have been necessary had Demi been doing her job. This in a way was the biggest problem. People who had paid their shipping invoices weren't marked as paid, the list never changed and after a while, people began to wonder if they'd thrown their money away. There was speculation that packages weren't being shipped because Demi had spent the shipping money on other things.

The third sticking point was Demi's responses to complaints, which were, as others have said, passive aggressive, whiny and unprofessional. If she did not want to have to read pages of complaints, the answer was to simply fulfill her commitment, instead of flailing and wailing. People were not without sympathy for Demi's situation, and had she been sending even one package a day out the door and updating the list to reflect that, then they would have been much more patient. But as it was, there were empty promises, missed and unrealistic shipping deadlines and silence for weeks at a time-other than announcements that she would be unavailable for days because of her work commitments at conventions. Since most packages were being sent Priority Mail, we simply couldn't understand why she couldn't print the labels online, pack one or two a day and leave them for the postman to pick up. There were all sorts of suggestions made, up to and including someone who lived closest coming over and helping her. She rejected any offers of help, and no progress was being made upon the order.

The fourth sticking point was that the order had arrived in total at Demi's house by Novermber 8. By the end of January, there had been 5 packages sent out. I warned that I would start my problem transaction thread three months after the order's arrival and I did. I felt that was a more than sufficient amount of time for the GO to have been processed. Every other GO I've been in took at most two weeks to get out the door. This was admittedly the largest, but still, three months with almost no progress whatsoever was excessive and troubling. Once, again, had Demi given any indication she was working on the order at all, if the packages had been trickling out, I would been inclined to wait patiently and would not have started a problem transaction thread. My order did get to me safely shortly after I started the thread, and all my items were there. So on that point, at least, I was satisfied.

I won't be doing any business, however minor, with Demi again. I have to wonder if I had not started the problem transaction thread if I would have received my shoes by now.

    20. I also participated in the massive 2079 Realm's GO. Yes, it took a very long time, HOWEVER as someone who also has a demanding work schedule and understood that Demi was running the GO in her spare time, I wasn't that bothered.
Being a part of that GO gave me a long list of DoA members I will never conduct any transactions with, but Demi is not one of them. I'd happily do business with her again.
