1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Finding a wardrobe for a B&G (BoyAndGirl) boy

Sep 20, 2008

    1. The elves say 20mm eyes but they ship with 18mm, 18mm seems to fit the best.

Think all there SD's are 18mm

P.S Leth is pretty, nice outfit

    2. last question!
does anyone know how they compare to clothes that are made for Volks 13SD?

    3. I'm pretty sure they wear 20mm eyes ^^

    4. I’ve been meaning to make this thread for a few weeks now,
and after looking around without finding any relevant ones that
appropriately address my concerns, I decided I should take the
initiative. If there already is a thread that does cover this topic
that I have missed, feel free to link me~.

ON TO THE TOPIC AT HAND.

So, I’m thinking about getting a [male] doll from B&G, and as much
as I’d love to go off and make my order, I have an issue I am hoping
previous owners can address for my [and possibly other doll owner/s] sake/s. One of my main concerns
about getting a male B&G doll is his clothing options, ie what will fit him, what won’t, where to buy, where not to.

I’ve looked at the average B&G male body measurements and to be
honest, he is rather slim with at LEAST a 3CM difference between
each measurement [give or take] when compared to average SD‘s.
I have heard that some people shop from Dollmore for their B&G boys,
as they’re outfits/clothing are a lot thinner than the more “well known“ sculpts/bodies. I’ve also heard
that some owners simply make their own clothes [which I am very
incapable of at the moment... XD;].

Now, I’m aware that there is no “perfect” place to purchase clothing
from [unless, perhaps, it’s the very company that made the doll you
own], but I would like to know where people recommend buying
clothing for their B&G boys from.

The last thing I would ever want happening is to find out that the
outfit I bought my boy doesn’t fit, either due to it’s lax or taut quality
      on the doll’s frame. Especially if it was something totally “him”! @ @;

PS, has anyone had any first-hand experience with TATA’S clothing
      and B&G boys? :*D

    5. I had a B&G type 2 boy for awhile, and the difference between the Volks clothing and his body was acceptable. The clothes were loose, but they fit fine in my opinion. He fit the shoes well.~

    6. Oliver, my Chiwoo elf has a B&G type 1 body and I use St. Jame's patterns to make jeans and t-shirts for him.

Here are a couple of pics of Oliver, so you can see how he looks...
(sorry for the quality, I have very shaky hands :S)

The only detail is that you have to cut the jeans legs longer, cause the pattern is short for B&G.

Oh, and the sneakers, I got them from Mimiwoo.
      Hope it helps ;)

    7. I have a MD Ryu on a B&G Type 1 body.
Right now the only clothes he has are from M.S. They're a little long in the sleeves, but I like that look so it's not a problem. Shoes his size are impossible to find though, so I just stuff the toes of regular SD13 shoes and they work great. :)

    8. Also for the B&G Afra, I put in 18mm eyes. 20mm seemed to big too me. And what's M.S. Akanekai?

    9. B&G advertises that the dolls come with 20 mm eyes, but every single doll I have ever seen has come with 18mm eyes. I have taken them out and measured them. eyes that are actually 20mm will not fit if they are considered 'low dome' eyes (very important if you are buying urethane eyes) and regularly shaped 20mm eyes are a little awkward but will fit. 18mm are the perfect fit although I had a pair of 16mm urethane eyes and 16mm glip eyes that have fit very nicely as well. the urethane eyes left small gaps on the outside corners of the eyewells, but otherwise fit very well.

as for wigs, every single SDF/DF wig I have ever gotten from Lutz has fit fantasticly. yes, some wigs did slide a little, but to remedy this I applied athletic tape to my dolls' headcaps. it's expensive, but IMO works better than velcro and does not leave a sticky residue like moleskin can do (so when you are ready to remove it, you don't have to break out hazardous chemicals to get the 'sticky' off). Volks SD wigs are huge on B&G dolls and DOT wigs will not fit.

And for clothes: I have found Dollmore to be a wonderful fit. Lutz Senior Delf line fits very nicely as well. Since most of the clothes I have for my dolls are randomly purchased from ebay or handmade, I don't have much clothing experience, but the few items I have purchased from Lutz and Dollmore have worked out very nicely.

    10. I recently purchased an outfit made by Angell Studio, and the pants are a little long, as are the sleeves, but it actually looks really good. It's nothing major, thats for sure. Suave, casual type look to it! But if you like something that fits perfectly and looks almost tailored, then it's not the best size. I'll post pictures later if you would like?

    11. Up up for this thread!
I really want to buy some nice pricy jeans for my SD girl (body type2) but I am worried about size!
Does anyone know where I can find jeans that would fit?

    12. I'm struggling to find much that fits my boy and I'm kinda hoping someone somewhere's discovered a source for such things!

I have tried a search but since the search engine doesn't allow me to use B&G, and having skimmed through 5 pages and not found anything, I figure this is the best method!

      Anyone got any ideas?

    13. giving this a hopeful bump?

    14. I've been wondering.. has anyone tried Nine9 clothes for their B&G boys? If you have then how's the fit?

    15. I'm not sure if this has been asked, if so I apologize for the redundancy. I want a certain Sadol outfit for my B&G body (boy, type 2), what size fits best? I know their legs are shorter, and they're so thin...but I want the pants to hang on his hips so being a little loose isn't an issue. I just don't want the shorts to turn into high-waters. :P

    16. does anyone know it doll heart clothing will fit a male B&G doll (Lyall model if it matters)

    17. Bumping this! I adore Dollheart, Dolls of Paradise and Nine9 Style clothing and I'd like to know if any of these are a good fit for B&G boys (type 2 body).

    18. So I'm reading that everyone says that Dollmore fits, but I just bought a shirt for my boy, and it slides over his shoulder, making him very girly X3. As for the wigs, I bought an SD wig from Dollmore, and when I sit him down, it just goes right back and flop down. Maybe it's just because dollmore is making their clothing line bigger now?

    19. I need to know about the nine9 style clothes for type1 boys as well.
I am going to be looking for a dress shirt, jeans, sneakers, blazer, and possible t-shirt for my soon to arrive boy. I have been wondering what company would be best. My daughter has a bbb weylin he tends to be a bit on the thin side as well but, am considering ordering him some items prior to his arrival.
