1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Finding Time for Your Dolls

Nov 30, 2009

    1. It is really difficult to find time to spend time with your dolls and juggle all the responsibilities of everyday life. I agree with going in spurts, when I have spare time I customize, dress and do all sorts of things with them, but when I'm really busy they don't get much time at all.
BUT I keep them on a shelf that's in my bedroom right next to the bed, so usually I pat them or stare and them and can tell them good night every night, so at least even if it is a little attention they get some every day! <3

    2. I work Monday to Friday and usually on those evenings only get about 3-4 hours to myself. Weekends are spent out of the house so finding time to invest in my lovely dolls use to be a challenge at first.

I find the best way I'm able to make time for my dolls is to set goals for myself. They're usually weekly things, but they tend to be in the realm of "This week I will make my LTF an outfit" and the next week, I'll choose to make my goal to blush and apply faceup on another doll.
Having these goals in mind helps me remember to take time, usually a few hours once a week to work on them, rather then, say, watch TV or something of the sort. It's usually limited to just once night a week but ever since I've started doing them, I find that I really enjoy this limited period where I can fuss over them.

    3. Even though I stay at home with my daughter and theoretically have a couple hours a day while she's at preschool, that is rarely how it turns out. Most often I have to do chores and run errands I can't do easily with her around, nevermind the grabby fingers that would be magnetically drawn to my painting area, for instance, if I left it set up. I know everyone says it will get easier as she gets older and understands boundaries better. I am skeptical.
